Errors While Playing

EDIT: Thanks to whoever moved this topic to the correct forum. *hugs*

First of all, I love this game. I ended up buying it on a whim and giving it a whirl, and I'm already addicted. However, I've been having a few problems. First of all, there are a few instances (namely right after creating a new character) where the game will randomly give me this message:



Sometimes, the "ig4icd32.dll" part will be totally blank, and I still need to test and see if the file changes. But I digress.

On rare occasions, I also get a window that pops up and says this:

Read failed for file: geobin/maps/City_Zones/City_01_02/City_01_02.bin
-1

Your data might be corrupt, please run the patcher and try again
And then OTHER times, the game just randomly crashes and gives me a "City of Heroes has stopped responding" pop-up with no indication as to what happened.

Does anybody know how I can fix these errors? I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite A305 laptop with Windows Vista 32-bit and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. As for my graphics card, I think it's a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express unless I'm looking in the wrong place. xD

usually stuff like this goes into the technical assistance and bugs forum

from the looks of what may be happening, it sounds like you need to do a "verify all files" from the updater or reinstall the game

the error about a corrupt map usually points to an error in the installation

and welcome to the forums and game!

You'll have far better luck getting help on this sort of thing by posting in the technical issues folder.
