Hero Heights: A neighborhood looking for neighbors

Hero Heights is a different kind of supergroup. We are not a group of hero running off to save the day, nor are we plotting the down fall of Lord Recluse. We're an neighborhood. We're the place Heroes come to after a long day fighting crooks and where the most plotting that is down is how to catch a movie after the kids are in bed.

Sound like you're kind of place? Click the video below for an idea of what Hero Heights is all about. (Opens in a new window)

Still interested? Awesome! If you have a character you like to apply, just reply to this post or send a in game tell to @CollegeZoo or @Amber Fleek

What we offer
Hero Heights has a massive base that really feels like a neighborhood. To give you just a small sampling of what places the base offers: A large park, a pool, a theater, a library, a coffee house and a magic shop.

Hero Heights is also starting up a weekly TF.

Rules
Hero Heights believes in providing a sandbox role playing environment. As such, the supergroup only has a short list of rules.

* Harassment is not allowed.
* Expect people to react your character's behavior in the same way such behavior would be reacted to in real life. (i.e. Susie tells her friends she wants to rob a bank, then Susie's friends are probably going to think she hasgone nuts and call the police.)
* You character may not commit a felony without prior permission of Supergroup leadership.

More about us
We are an unusual neighborhood.

Crime just doesn't happen here. That might be because the shoplifters that tried to rip off Holman's Market three years ago didn't know that Mr. Holman was The Wall before he retired in the 1980s. Or was it because Ms. Quicklight was shopping there at the time? No, it was probably because Mandy, Mr. Fashion's 6-year-old daughter, used her heat vision when one shoplifter pulled a gun, and Pastor Henry encased the other perp in ice until the police could arrive.

The three-block area that is the Hero Heights neighborhood has earned its reputation mainly because approximately 30 percent of its residents have meta abilities. The rest of our neighbors are happy knowing that in one place on earth, they are truly safe.

Maybe metas come to this close-knit community just Just West of Steel Canyon looking for a place they feel like they belong, and we are proud to be that place. Heroes here do not face the discomforting celebrity status and near-worship that many people with hero licenses suffer. Other are comforted that there are other people who understand just down the block.

That is one impressive base.

I attended an in-character concert in their 'neighborhood' last year, and it was excellent. Their base is very well designed, -does- feel like a neighborhood, and would serve as a top-rate backdrop for roleplay of many kinds.

My RPSG's base is disguised as a nightclub if you're up for a coalie. Could be fitting.

Beautiful work on the base.

Edit: That being said, my RPSG also functions as a Nightclub in the front. Not just the look.
I may throw in one of my alt heroes I feel like playing though into the heights.

We do have a couple of Coali spots open. I'm @CollegeZoo if you like to send me a message.

Thanks! Now the job is to help her grow so she reaches critical mass.

It was suggested to me that Hero Heights should throw a block party. I like this idea! Details to be post soon.

Can I ask where you found the song in the video? Because I absolutely love it.

The song is Holly Yarbrough's rendition of the original Fred Rogers song (rest in peace, Rev).

Awesome job to the OP, and I wish you the best with it! If I were a more active player, I'd definitely sign up for this.

I'm already juggling two SG/VGs and real life, but I'm really really tempted to send someone here. It sounds like a friendly community and the work you've done on your little town is top notch!

But would it have room for a hyperactive meter maid with a riot shield?

This sounds like an excellent group! I'd love to join on my brute. Hameln is the name if you need to talk in-game, or just use my global, @Shadow Smileyface

Outstanding base too!

This... is glorious. I'm definitely going to dig through my list of toons and see who might fit in. It seems like a great place for some nice, relaxed RP. ^_^

EDIT: Though, now that I think about it, I'm worried I'm going to be slapped in the face with lag the moment I walk in. @_@

I'll try and get in touch with you all tomorrow/today!

The lag in the base isn't too bad. It's mostly when you look in the direction of the Library as Book cases have tons of geometry. I have what I could consisted a mid range computer and do just fine. Everything is spread out so you should be manageable.

My not-so-inner nerd is sobbing right now. T_T

I do have a couple of questions: do you have specified event days, or do you guys just pop online and RP whenever? Also, what's your policy on non-human residents?

Bit of both. We're going to try Tuesdays starting a 8pm EST as our "Official Night", BUT I and a couple others are on during most of the week.

If your character can follow the same laws humans do, then you are more than welcome. Remember, the general idea is that a bunch of people with powers happen to live in the part of the city. Diversity is just one of to keep the neighborhood interesting.
