Oooh... This is a really good idea...
I know I'll be joining this on all my characters. -
You all have made your point. At the time I was really ticked off for a mix of reasons, and this didn't help, which is why I posted this rant. Uh... yeah. Sorry.
But you all do make a lot of sense, once something else new and shiny comes along everyone will do that over and over, and so forth. -
Oh wow... I'm thinking that this turned in to a rant... Oops.
I guess that what I meant by the post is that Sure, AE has its uses. You have the people who farm up to a certain level, like 20, just to make their charcter playable. I've done that, and honestly I can't see anything wrong with that. But then there are the people who don't even leave Atlas, and get their character to 50 in that building. I really just don't understand why you would want to do the same mission, over and over, killing the same things in the same order every time. I suppose you guys are right though, everyone can play the game as they want too. Heck, if anything, instead of leaving I would probably just be a little more inactive for awhile, wait for some new content.
Can I have infinity popcorn nowz? -
I know I'm not the only one who has had an experience like this. I was flying around in Atlas trying to think of something to do, and I got a blind invite to a team. I rejected, and about 10 minutes later, I got a second invite from the same person. I rejected again, and looked the guy up. He was a level 28 in Atlas (I was playing a level 50 blaster at the time, was he hoping for free xp from a blaster?), doing an AE Farm. I messaged him and told him to stop inviting me and that he should go play the actual game. He then proceded to say "lmao noob go away."
Now normally flying around I would have gotten a ton of mission invites to help with story lines and other random missions. Now the only invites I EVER get are for AE farms or respec trials (they spend all there money on paying people to run the farm for them so they cant buy a respec.) For awhile, sure there were people who probably tryed to start a mission team, but gave up due to everyone AE farming.
Which of course leads me to my question, is the AE system being abused? Noone does normal teams any more, its always AE teams, trials, or TFs. And then when people get to 50, they start a new character and repeat.
So I guess in a different way of asking, Did the AE system kill City of Heroes? Maybe a content filter or something, like having devs check it to make sure its not a farm before being playable by others. Maybe even having some vet players do it. The whole AE thing seemed like a good idea at the time, sure, but it hasn't provided really anything helpful to the game at all the way it is now.
Just another reason to switch to Champions Online I guess. -
Waiit.... People on other servers actually play Villains?
This is very normal for villains as far as I've seen. Until recently, for 2 years I havent even bothered with villains, and I had to use AE to farm so I could get a character to 50 redside..
So if Its less dead on other servers i'll gladly play there as well. -

Everything that ever happens in life is always all about you.
Have this tattooed onto your forehead, backwards, so that every time you look in the mirror you can see it and be reminded that in every single situation you must DEMAND that everyone go to extraordinary, absurd lengths to change reality in order to make your life slightly more enjoyable, regardless of all other costs, considerations, or individuals.

Was that positive or negative? I wanna know how to respond. -

Wait... does being a level 50 count as being over 21? -
Like Rock said, get infinity up and I'll tell you, and Ironblade, TOLD YOU!
And stop whining about your event, the 5 hour downtime should have been your clue. And noone, not even NCSoft is perfect.
