  1. I honestly can't see the pvp thing happening. Bored Heroes/Villains who didn't have anyone flagged to kill would start griefing by following low levels around kill stealing, that sort of thing. People always find a way. Remember stealthed characters hiding out in medical areas of pvp zones to get easy respawn kills? People suck too much to be able to implement it.
  2. Reading this email, it doesn't look like you go to the 'real' hero side of the game (if you are a villain) but rather to the Praetorian equiv., which is not nearly what I would want from 'switching sides.'

But then again, they are talking about a new alignment system, which they've already started putting into place with the 'heroic/villainous' tagging in Arch, so maybe you can actually switch. I want more details.
  3. *You have boarded the bandwagon*

Right now a lot of posts have talked about the high Prestige cost of Base items - and that they're bringing in a ton of Salvage but can't really do anything about it.

Bases, as they currently stand, really focus on mid and large sized groups earning Prestige - so the complaints have a good point. We're trying to work something out so that a smaller group can get something useful quickly - and also put Salvage to use! Can't promise a timeline, but we are working on it.

The idea of selling salvage is good, but it has a certain flaw as well. For better items, that salvage that we have so much of now will be needed more. It's only not needed now because alot of us can't afford the (6)tables/power/control to build other things that we can't afford to place. Not a whine, a fact.

I must be slow, but I'm still not understanding what's to work on? Can't you guys just lower the prices? For one thing, it seems silly that a strictly decorative room should cost the same as a room with a function. It's just a hollow cube for storing stuff after all. Or just increase the percent of prestige earned? I love the base idea, but I would surely love it more if my little themed alt sg could afford more than the entrance and one big functionless room.
  5. That was fantastic! Thanks for sharing that with us!
  6. I've grouped with SCSI while playing my own controller, I have to say, he can hold anything. We were fighting the level 40 version of Envoy, and he was locked down most of the fight, and that was NOT due to me. The dark pets' constant heal and hold spamming was totally awesome and made the difference on this mission.

I can't hold Envoy reliably, having only 2 holds makes it a bit tough to do. That fight, I pretty much concentrated on debuffing and casting pets.

Thanks for the guide SCSI, great work. And about darn time you got off your buttocks and wrote a guide for ONE of your builds!
  7. Yeah, that percentage damage does not take into account hit/miss. So with no accuracy on the things, you might end up with alot less damage than you thought.

    Cheers,

I just completed the Envoy of Shadows story arc (level 35 - 40) last night.

There is NO WAY any AT can solo the Envoy (ArchVillian).

We had 2 Fire blasters, an energy blaster, a fire/kinetics controller and an empath defender and we still had a major battle to take this thing down. Fire imps were useless as they were slaughtered as fast as they could be put out (and this is pre-nerf). This COT Behemoth has 11,000 hit points + dark shroud + regeneration. If anyone thinks they can solo this, I'd love to hear how.

After 40 there are many more missions with ArchVillians in them. So if you want to do all of your story arcs, starting in your late 30s through level 50, you will need to put together a team.

saying there is no way is an assumption on your part on this one. An assumption that you are incorrect about. Envoy is quite soloable by a few ATs. I can think of one off hand, until the fix with episode 2

I "assume" from your post that you know the Envoy can be solo'd because you solo'd him with your illusion controller.
Just curious...was the Envoy even con to you at the time?

Also can you share some of the few other ATs you know can solo an even con Envoy?

    Thanks

Sorry, haven't checked the board all day after I posted that. Had I known Statesman was going to be in a posting frenzy I would have posted a reply sooner so it wouldn't be on page 89.

Yes, Envoy was the same level as me, so purple. Storm secondary probably makes a big difference, but I know a fire/rad who did the same. Some others have already mentioned doing the same in this thread. I think the pa nerf will make soloing him impossible now, since PA damage was pretty vital for it. I hate nerfs in general but anyone who doesn't think PA was overpowered is dreaming or playing with them wrong.

    Cheers,

  10. Thanks. I decided to just chuck all names, so I didn't have to deal with it. I was playing around with having someone turn into an npc just as they do the BOOSTUP animation and the healing aura around them. It turned out really great, well, except that I somehow threw off the timing of my own toon. Ah well, still much to learn...

I figure I will start using editors once I actually know what I am doing in the file manually. That way, when I run into a problem that the editor can't handle, I will at least have an idea of where to start.
  11. ok, so I was able to turn one of my friends into a Crey Crisis unit in atlas park, which was really neat. The problem is, now, their name is no longer displayed above their head. This makes sense, since I had to turn him into an npc to do it and the npcs do not display names. Is there a way to make them?

Is it, for instance, possible to make my friend a Crey Drama Queen? and have it display that over His head?

    Cheers,
  12. Ah, disregard, figured it out. Thanks!

Awesome tools you got here Zloth2. Thanks!

I have a silly question for you, or maybe not. I don't know enough about all of this yet. Is it possible to replace a player with an npc, and if so, how? and vice versa?

  13. You can take different power pools. You still have to follow the rules of the power pool, such as, you have to have hover or air superiority before you can get flight, you have to have swift or hurdle before you can get health, that sort of thing. But otherwise, you can have up to 4 pools. I have a toon with flight, stamina, and superspeed.

    Cheers,
  14. Thanks Trooper! Yes, that was funny, I was just annoying friends and coworkers by humming and whistling this song all day at work. Great job on the video.
  15. yeah, wish I could see it. got a bandwidth exceeded message. sounds like it was funny.
