Quote:I see it as giving us the tools to exercise OUR responsibility. Seeing that they ARE putting in the store, and to my knowledge they are NOT giving us a receipt, it is THEIR responsibility to help us keep track of our purchases. They said for account wide things the items would be grayed out. For the others I fail to see why it is their responsibility.
Besides, being greyed out doesn't tell me WHEN it was purchased, only that it WAS purchased. -
Quote:As far as I can tell that was fixed before Issue 18 was launched. At least you can't earn more than 3 costume slots via tailor missions, 1 via the Halloween salvage, +1 for the VEAT mission.Currently at least, there's a glitch in the tailor missions that allow you to do the costume missions on both sides if you're a Rogue or Vigilante. So hypothetically, if they didnt' make it impossible, you could do 3 tailor missions on hero side, 3 on villain side. That'd be 7 costumes right there. And yes, I did report the glitch, but so far as I can tell, it hasn't been fixed.

For those on a budget or limited income, yes, it is needed. I, like many others, have to be careful about what we spend money on. I go over my budget every month to make changes as to what I can afford to spend the next month.
Then there is the "What did I buy already?" question that isn't answered, at least with the crud system we currently have.

Go ahead, tell me what the highlighted codes are... You can't. I can only because I've kept my receipts. I shouldn't have to keep the receipts or have to ask support which items I've bought and applied to my accounts. -
Quote:Also:
- New Vet Reward--Unslotters, used to removed a single enhancment
- New Vet Reward--IO enhancers, used to combine two similar IOs, as with regular enhancements
- New Vet Reward--XP boost, used to provide a boost in XP earnings for a short time.
- New Vet Reward--Windfall, not totally explained, but likely to provide an Inf earnings boost for a short time.

Because most e-commerce sites provide you with a history in addition to a receipt. In addition, they are missing a golden opportunity to have specialized directed sales and notices based on your purchase history.
Say a player mainly buys costume parts, but only rarely buy the boosts. They could get a special sale notice on a costume pack they don't have yet.
Additionally, like I said, this could be a really useful tool for players to find out what they (or their children) have spent in the last month. This would be a useful tool for budgeting. -
From my understanding (and I could be wrong), we will continue to get veteran badges with every 3 months of subscribed time, but the rewards themselves have been split off into a new program.

Quote:Zone is freely available to everyone, the contacts are not. Contacts in First Ward are available for purchase.New magical based Praetorian zone, First Ward (purchased separately, but included with subscriptions) Level 20-25 Praetorian zone. Praetorians can come straight from the current Praetorian content to this new zone, and Primals can come over to it as well.
Like all Incarnate content, this is for subscribers only.
Reference, please?
Reference, please? I specifically asked Positron on the Aug 4th Ustream if IO recipes were available for purchase from the market and he said "Not at launch."
From the highlights:
-
Right-click on City of Heroes in the launcher, select properties, then add the following to "Extra command line parameters" to get a windowed version for the initial launch (you can then change the options in-game):
-fullscreen 0
Get into the game, change the screen resolution, exit game completely (to the desktop), remove the "-fullscreen 0", restart the game. You should be at your resolution choice that you selected in game.
Or control screen size, you can also add:
-screen <Xsize> <Ysize>
Example:
-fullscreen 0 -screen 1024 768
If you are trying to set it to fullscreen at a specific size instead add this:
-fullscreen 1 -screen 1024 768 -
Well, I managed to get a couple questions in.
One to put a rumor to rest: most the tier 9 Paragon Reward consumables are able to be bought on the market (except the Summon Signature).
In response to someone else's question:Quote:Q. Will Enhancement Unslotters, Windfall, XP Boosters, and Enhancement Boosters be available on the Paragon Market?
A. Those are available both as Repeatable Rewards through the Paragon Rewards Program or by purchase in the Paragon Market. You have options!
I asked that to give me something to point to where they actually said it, rather than implied it.Quote:A. Certain specific VIP rewards, such as the "Summon a Signature Hero" ability, will not be purchasable via the Paragon Market.
They didn't fully answer one of my questions:
I suspect that we'll be getting weekly emails (at least) once Issue 21 goes live.Quote:Q. Will there be bundles and sales? If so, how many out of game emails should I be expecting from Paragon Studios each week or month?
A. There will be bundles, such as costume pack bundles. As for sales, yes! Keep your eyes peeled when the Paragon Market is available later this year!
The other is one they didn't seem prepared for: The market purchase history...
Seriously they should have realised that was going to be a potential problem with the market after years of complaints that players can't tell what "Perk" is which on our accounts. Additionally they should have thought about it because parents would like to see a record of where their money went when their kids went wild buying stuff.Quote:Q. Will there be a record of what we've bought? Right now our account pages list previously bought Packs as "Perk", will this change?
A. There will not be a purchase history record at launch, HOWEVER, if you purchase something from the Paragon Market at launch that isn't a repeatable purchase, let's say a one-time account-wide purchase, the store will lock that and prevent you from purchasing it again. We will be working on getting a purchase history for the store ASAP following the launch of City of Heroes Freedom.
Most e-commerce sites, will keep track of a person's purchase history. It is something I, as a web developer, consider a mandatory requirement for an e-commerce site.Quote:CoH - Related to the purchase history question, the Paragon Market functions much like your standard e-commerce site, where you'll be able to edit your shopping cart, and before you purchase you'll be taken to a "lock in" page before you make your purchase. You can always go back and edit your shopping cart from this page as well.
===========
The players going on about the Paragon Rewards program and the one person asking repeated questions about when Paragon Studios was going to have a lifetime subscription (ie NEVER), yes those were low points in this. -

Quote:Something seems like it doesn't belongs in these 3 options.
Points * Dollar Equivalent * Item
- 350........$4.00......................Character Costume Slot (account wide, max of 5 (1,600 PP / $20))
- 800......$10.00......................Costume Slot (up to 5 more)
- 1600....$20.00......................5 Character Costume Slots (account wide)

Quote:I agree that some players are asking questions that aren't getting answered. One person asked about Life Time Subscriptions three times, despite the Ustream broadcast yesterday when Positron said there will not be a Life Time Subscription offer.I don't want to throw in my two cents...but Freedom Friday shouldn't be a Q&A day since the questions we want answered are not going to get answered and if people read the main page, they can get those questions answered without asking them again and again.
Freedom Friday should be a reveal day where they reveal something small to medium regarding Freedom...
Just my two orange cents!
I'll point out that some of the questions being asked have no relation to the topic on hand (Paragon Market this week), and there are some questions that (shockingly) haven't been asked or answered in any official capacity.
For instance, players speculated that we could buy the Tier 9 rewards from the market as well, but it was confirmed today. They also confirmed that we'll be able to manage our subscription in game. -
Quote:To be absolutely fair, they could have been replying to this question instead:Q. Will the Tier 9 paragon rewards (the consumables) be available on the Paragon Market?
A. Those are available both as Repeatable Rewards through the Paragon Rewards Program or by purchase in the Paragon Market. You have options!
Either way, it seems very clear that the majority of the Tier 9 consumable rewards aren't exclusive to the Paragon Rewards program.Quote:Will Enhancement Unslotters, Windfall, XP Boosters, and Enhancement Boosters be available on the Paragon Market?
Edit:
Apparently I was right, not all tier 9 rewards will be available via the market, specifically the "Summon a Signature Hero" ability. -
Quote:They are, according the today's Facebook Friday, available for purchase on the market:they give you things you can't purchase in the store at all, whether the Tier 9 consumables

That the players of this game are just plain nuts? Though chocolate covered nuts (almonds) would be acceptable.

Quote:There is only one thing I can say to that:Positron just gave a flat "no" to lifetime subscriptions on the Ustream chat.
He and Zwill then explained that when Paragon Studios / NCSoft had done market-research, what they found was that all other MMO's who had tried the "life-time subscription" method regretted the move.
It was also explicitly stated in the Ustream that the developers saw the game being around longer than 2 or 3 years.
Pancake!

That is assuming that the server status page gets updated in a timely manner. If the page were tied to the servers instead of being manually updated, it might be accurate.
