I have an empathy/archery defender who's going to have soft-capped ranged defence. Because I thought it'd be a cute thing to try.
-
Mm. The build is focusing on recharge - entropic Chaos', Crushing Impact - and with Flash Freeze it's getting about 70% global, which is pretty brilliant for a small investment from where I stand.
Now, all I need to do is get people to parse the same kind of judgement about my soft-capped empath... -
Thanks, Kran. I knew Kranik had it - I asked for the build all those moons ago - and that led to me assuming it was a given. Since this build of an Ice/Em isn't about capping ranged def I wasn't all that fussed about having it.
-
Because to me, it looks like poop. Very small values of defence - even socketed up, it doesn't break 20%, which is where I feel comfortable with a defence power. It only protects against S/L for defence and the cold/fire resistance doesn't feel all that telling (there aren't a lot of enemies that deal it, as far as I can see in the 40+ range).
Am I missing something amazing about the power? Because its best purpose looks like being an IO mule, and I think that Flash Freeze does that better. -
I made one, then realised the entire mechanism for people to play them is based on just how much of a [censored] I want to be to people around me and that the mechanism of the AE had absolutely nothing at all to do with actual quality promoting good arcs, figured I'd never get any recognition unless I found some way to appeal to a dev (and the existing dev choice arcs have shown me that I don't expect them to like my writing), and figured I'd sod the whole idea off.
-
Warwolves. Dreck. How quickly people forget.
-
Seems the computer problem wasn't as simple as a [censored] power supply. How vexing. Bumping this thread - though I find it quite fun to see this thread in the villain colours for once.
-
I remembered most keenly an incident where one person's page was subject to vandalism and nobody I knew who would normally revert it could be bothered to fix it, leaving it to a sysop to take care of it. That did amuse me.
-
If you have acrobatics and you're still being knocked around, there are only two enemies you could be fighting in any commonality, one of whom offers a big XP bonus and I would not be surprised to see as the centerpiece of a farm. In which case might I recommend you play the game?
You can tank for a team with just SOs. I know. I was there. So could you be clearer with what you want? What do you like? What don't you like? Are you willing to take powers that require other players to be better? Do you want a lot of attacks? Do you want to invest in IOs?
Give us something to work with. -
Define 'decent.'
And 'sucks.' -
I periodically help people with the problem of the image box. I used to offer services as an editor, but after a fairly renowned player took my assistance then just went back to writing terribly, I gave up. Otherwise I limit myself to mucking with friends' pages, people who can contact me privately.

Phased out content should be replaced with newer shinnies not just dumped.

My personal observation after 3+ years and playing every AT with a very wide array of powersets is that blasters are the ONLY AT that can struggle at what they are designed to do without outside help
[/ QUOTE ]And your personal observations are biased and bunkum. Especially since over those 3 years so much has changed, 90% of that experience has itself been rendered moot and worthless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to play a little Devil's Advocate here: how do you know it's not your personal observations that are biased and bunkum?
[/ QUOTE ]Because I didn't come in and say '3+ years and playing every AT with a wide array of powersets.' I spoke about my experience with my one fire/fire blaster and how it defied what people said, but I did not go on to say that everyone who said that was retarded. I also didn't cite 3 years ago as if it was germaine to a discussion about today - so much has changed for blasters today.
The OP's premise is flawed. -
Dark, Fire, Dual Blades, War Axe, War Mace, Stone...
*thinks* am I missing any? -

'The build'? Nope. Can't help you.
My build? Sure. Lemme dial it up for you.

41+ socketing, I haven't gotten there yet. Been hoovering up hazard zone spawns and being a lot of fun along the way. I used IOs to represent Sos because I didn't notice until halfway through and couldn't be arsed changing back. Only frankenslotted powers are Stomp and Charge because they are SOOO GOOOD. -
[ QUOTE ]
Now you're just giving up.
[/ QUOTE ]It's more 'abandoning in disgust.' -
Just remember, people: Thinking about things you enjoy is a bad thing.
-
[ QUOTE ]
That, and I believe that Fire/Fire is the most fragile of the glass cannons in the game...
[/ QUOTE ]My fire/fire didn't get a debt badge until he was 50. And he spent most of his time soloing hazard zones. If this statement is true, blasters as a whole are OP'd. -
[ QUOTE ]
I see many others with human/nova builds and they dish out some crazy dmg...should I respec and follow suit?
[/ QUOTE ]No. God. No.
The best thing about warshades now is Black Dwarf mire. It's the [censored] cousin of Foot Stomp and Follow up. Your goal in life is to get it 6-socketed, and then pump its recharge through the roof. -
You claim "X is easy," and when called to explain how you know that, you say it's easy because "you have an imagination."
Your imagination is not proof. You can't prove that your ideas are easy to implement, and there's evidence that they are, in fact, not. -
I'd like it of more content was phased out, since that would mean oroborous could very literally be travelling to the past. We have a great tool in Oroborous - it's a shame it's squandered right now.
-
My fire/fire solo'd his way to 32. Without IOs. And he was... well, fun. I made things explode. People acting like fire/fire is unsurvivabile always make me wonder what I did right.
