Quote:I don't think he really meant it in the sense of "It's a kid's show", so much as he wanted to move away from Davies' Soap Opera Love Drama in Space (STARRING ROSE TYLER). Which the show has very definitely moved away from, it does have a lighter tone, the Doctor is a bit more light hearted and kid friendly, but I don't think the whole show is 'for kids', and Moffet knows that too.As for the lighthearted silliness, expect more of it. Moffat has said that he believes that Doctor Who has been getting too adult and although it should be entertaining to adults it should be aimed at children.
I'd just chock it up to an 'oops' because he's shown he's capable of better. -
Not the best christmas episode, but also not the worst (by a fair margin).
The story was pretty predictable, we knew the Dad was getting saved, no one was going to die, etc. It was pretty much a by the book adventure. Set up, bad stuff, resolution, happy happy happy.
It did do it pretty well though, the visuals were all fantastic, the characters are likable, it manages to tug the right heart strings in all the right ways.
I did feel the tone was a little.. juvenile though? Like it seemed -expressly- written for a younger audience. The Doctor is silly and that's been established, he's basically a big kid at heart, but this one, the whole episode just seemed to have a sort of kiddy tone to it. Not necessarily bad, it's just I know the team has managed to do things that appeal more broadly even when kids are involved (See: The Beast Below)
Still, it was pretty cute and the ending was really nice. -
yeah anything with a distinct effect like that is the same at any level. A level 40 functions the same as a 50 the same as a 20 or a 33. tends to be why people try to get it at as low a level as possible so it works at any the most exemplared levels

just some idle speculation, but I was thinking about it today. Both Percy Winkley and Ashley McKnight will tell you after completing their respective arcs that you'll need to come see them when you're 50. This of course does nothing right now.
So maybe they're the planned entry ways into Dark Astoria. A dark god subverting reality is right up the Midnight Club's alley afterall -
Incarnate stuff works for anything level 45+, but yeah if you've already done everything the only 'new' thing are the trials.
Trials are generally open to everyone, there are scheduled events and pick up events, just kind of depends on your server and who does what.
You can just jump into the trials or do the solo/small team arc to unlock your Alpha slot, then decide whether you want to build your first alpha ability with Strike force rewards or dive into the trials and earn salvage and threads.
Starting out you'll want to stick to the initial 3 trials, Behavioral Adjustment Facility, Lamba Sector, and the Keyes Reactor trials til you can craft some Level shifts to join the harder trials, which are the Underground, The TPN news, and the Minds of Mayhem. Not absolutely required, but it helps a lot and people will be more prone to snatch you up.
Oh and keep in mind, there will be a new Incarnate Zone coming out in the next few months so the Incarnate system won't be purely high end task forces & trials. -
As for the other slots, it really depends on what you want in terms of concept or what you feel is useful. Reactive is considered the 'best' interface slot in terms of adding to your damage, Clarion is very handy (almost required) for the Underground Trial, and Cimerorans are considered the best 'damage' pet. But it's all pretty good no matter what direction you go with any of the slots.

it'll be like First Ward, except the story arcs will include choices for villains to be villainous.

Dude, big rule on the forums:
Forum goers *****. A lot. Take what they say with a grain of salt, because they are only the most vocal players, they do not -represent- most players. Big, big difference. And it happens some of them are very very vocal whiners that will interject their point into any thread even tangentially related to the topic, sometimes not even that. So don't let it put you off. -

They're probably trying to figure out how to put the choice missions into flashback and not break your alignment.
-
That is patently not true. I've seen -several- Winterlords in Atlas, in Cap, and other zones where the Frostlings were way way -way- higher level than the zone cap. I was personal witness to a spawn just under the Atlas statue that was over a dozen level 50 frostlings. The newbies were, to say the least, not pleased.

Yeah I set mine up with a buddy pretty much so we could use a crafting table. Really nice not having to head to a university, just hit up the nearest base portal, which for most city zones is near the Tram (Though, not always).
the teleporters are kind of nice too, just for the Winter Event alone it's been handy having a fast way to Pocket D. -
Here I was thinking he meant the Emma Peal Avengers.
Regardless, if you don't like it, play the rest of the game. I thought 4 was the best written one so far, it included a lot of little references and actually bothered to tie plot elements together unlike most of the rest of the game, and it did actually bother to fill us in on bits we didn't know, but you've probably just ignored it so you can whine you don't know.
And I'd rather they use the characters so we actually get some development with them instead of keeping them useless static cutouts. -
Yeah, that's my thought, co-op finale. Though villains haven't spoken up much about what's going on in Grandville. Peregrine Island has contacts up for both parts 5 and 6. Someone said there was a contact for 5 up in Grandville, no one seems to have spotted #6 yet.

Just wait a few months, they're kicking out a whole incarnate zone to play around in.
-
Yeah this is highly subjective since it's entirely based on your perceived value of the item.
I thought it was cool and slapped down for it right away, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's useless. It's purely to pull out and think how cool it is to have a lil mutant snowball running around with you. If you're saving up for powers, I'd say skip it and wait for something more useful to come along. -

Quote:Actually that's Blue Steel after Anti-Matter bites it in Who Will Die and BS takes up his armor. That little yellow thing is his badge, and that's why is aura is blue instead of the typical green AM's radiation usually is.So it looks like Antimatter/Positron is part of the DD trial? Sure looks like his silhouette in one of the pictures there.
Edit: positron. I have no idea why I keep referring to his evil twin. XP -

Yes, you can pay for the convenience of an account wide unlock for all current and future characters, or you can do it for free in game per character while the event is ongoing.

Actually typically a lot of things go live about midnight on Tuesday. It's just the usually do the live publish at 4 am and things get brought back. Though since the WST is just a reward flag it probably doesn't require a live publish.
