The Defiant "Die a lot" method is not a very efficient method, considering the fact Union managed to get it down to an art, that got eventually boring for some - but at least it was a guaranteed HO.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Defiant die-a-lot method is the method that worked, and in fact there was very little death. After all, we were the only server who got organized and stepped up to the plate to try and figure out how to beat Hamidon in the first place. We only died a lot because it was the FIRST new hami-raid in the EU. A lot of you (you especially Raz) will have been there for the first oldstyle Hami raids, so you'll remember the repeated deaths and failures associated with that, and then you wouldn't have even gotten a hami-O.
This is a brand new encounter, none of the old tactics work AT ALL. As such, dying is part of the learning procedure.
Oh, and just FYI, after the first two mito spawns we basically had it down to an artform. We cleared the third mito spawn in about 5-10 minutes, with VERY few deaths. If that's not efficient, I don't know what is.
P.S. I will be leading a public raid on Union very soon, since my Illusion/Empathy is around 45 now so I can get into the zone. We will be using the same strategy as the one that Defiant used in the first succesful Hamidon raid of i9. -

Sorry to see another hero leaving. Can I have your stuff?

Keep doing it, set the sign-up date back (now is bad for a lot of younger UKers since it's exam season) and just YELL about it all the time on the boards.
If you need people to help shouting about it, I can gladly do that. The main problem was the lack of communication and information on the official boards, and it's not like that can't be easily fixed. -

both

Maybe Archy, NB and me should stop teaching xanthus how to say stuff in danish.

Mesmer is responsible too.
And yes, they were both.
I actually got the first warning that lead to the ban because I droned someone a couple of times. -

Maybe I need more practice
[/ QUOTE ]
This. There's not usually a magic bullet, or if there is, you need to practice to be able to use it. -

rad/psi defender is THE #1 1vs1 build.

As for the villain side i'll go with Ice/Fire Rad corruptors or Nrg/regen Stalkers

ice/cold corruptor. -
Don't come to a PvP zone if you don't want to PvP. It is as simple as that.

That guide is a lot to digest!
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why you should use our guide, since it's only a couple of paragraphs long -
[ QUOTE ]
Ah, and sorry for been a bit pain in the Tells to you hehe.
[/ QUOTE ]
You weren't the only one :P
It seems to be our thing, really. The last US guide for the old hami was really complicated, and we simplified it. We've just done the same again. -
[ QUOTE ]
Been trying to find this thing to read up on it for next time, where do I find it?
[/ QUOTE ]
We used this strategy for Heroes, and like I just said to the Union guys, it could easily be adapted for villains too. As long as you have a thermal or a kin in each team, and plenty of rads (we had 7) you can probably do it. As I said in their thread, though, I'm not entirely sure where MMs will fit in (besides a TA MM for the oilslick/HT combo). From what I'm reading, poison has some pretty nice debuffs and a clear-mind style power so they could be used to replace the kin or therm in a team. Also, powers like Weaken and Benumb will be really useful to drop on the green mitos to stop them from healing the other mitos for so much. -
That raid guide is WAY too complicated, and not neccesary. We did it on Defiant basically using this guide, which can really easily be adapted for villains as well. I'm not entirely sure how MMs can get maximum use out of their primaries, and there sure as hell are a lot more empathy defenders/controllers than thermal corruptors but I'm sure that the villains could do it this way as well.

I also want to say... the fighting GMs for EoE in Pi was great. Forget inventions - people fighting GMs en masse in PI is something completely new to me
[/ QUOTE ]
My favorite part of the whole raid was where I called "OK GUYS POP AN EOE AND LETS GO GO GO!", spun my camera around and saw like 45+ people all following me into the Jelly. Way awesome. -
WE ARE FARMING ESSENCE OF EARTH INSPIRATIONS NOW!
Get to Peregrine Island and ask for a team in the broadcast channel! Also, join teamspeak:
server IP: 87.117.194.77:8937
password: paragon
Note the lower case P in the password. -
Just a reminder to people, can you please make sure you have at least 5 EoE inspirations before the raid? If you haven't been able to get any, I'm going to try and get on between 3 and 4 to farm some on Monster Island in PI.
Also, we have a new global chat channel! Please join channel "Defiant Raiders" for information about when the next raid is happening, and when GM clearing groups are being run to get the Essence Of Earth inspirations. -

we will also need a parimiter team jsut incase we get somebody trying to agro us a handful of stalker sna brutes will be able to pull that of np this ones gona need a leader as well all the other teams involved in it so feel free to volenteer
[/ QUOTE ]
1) You didn't need a perimiter team in the old hamidon
2) When hami spawns in the NEW hamidon, all the GMs in the zone dissapear. -

(Oil slick)
[/ QUOTE ]
I have no idea what you are talking about. -
Oh yeah, I forgot to say:
Please try and form up in teams beforehand, and try to ensure that each team has at least ONE person with recall friend who is prepared to run out of the jelly when stuff starts going bad in order to TP people to a set position in order to allow for mass ressurection
I also need a Dark Miasma defender with Howling Twilight online in order to allow for mass ressurection. We will be using Cynics Oil Slick as a target for the defender to ressurect the entire raid off of, so please make sure you have a macro set up in order to target the Oil Slick for your HT to hit it. -
This is it, boys and girls. Union beat us to be the first to beat the old hamidon, but we're sure as hell not going to let that happen again!
I've not typed out a formal raid guide yet, as I'm not ENTIRELY sure how this will work. It'll be as much a testing raid as it will be a proper raid, so don't expect the fastest raid in the world.
PLEASE COME IN A HAMIDON READY COSTUME AS YOU DID IN THE OLD RAIDS. That means NO capes, NO auras, NO wings.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TEAMSPEAK INSTALLED FROM HERE IN TIME FOR THE RAID. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK (and thus do NOT need a microphone), YOU JUST HAVE TO BE ABLE TO LISTEN. The server IP we will be using is "87.117.194.77:8937" and the server password is "paragon" - feel free to come on and test your connection in the next few days if you don't feel like it'll work. Follow the instructions in the default channel to be able to join the main room and talk. Orders will be given out on TS during the raid, so make sure you're all set. Even if your english isn't that great, there will be virtually no chatter during the raid so interpreting orders shouldn't be too hard.
Since we're using teamspeak to give out orders, we will be using the request channel for IMPORTANT information for the raid leaders. If something looks like it's going to go horribly wrong, yell about it in request. Otherwise, please keep the channel clear. Broadcast will be for spam like usual, so it might be a good idea to move request to another tab
So, for a quick chat/orders overview:
Teamspeak: Direct Orders
Request: Important information from non-leaders
Broadcast: General spam
This raid will be taking place on:
[u]SUNDAY 6TH OF MAY AT 5:30PM FOR A 6PM START[u]
We will be meeting on Cowards Hill in Eden, as per usual, and starting earlier than usual to allow for the fact that we've never done this before and so it'll probably take a while.
Because of the new Hamidon changes, this raid is going to be organized on a first-come first-served basis. I'm really sorry, but if you don't make it in before the zone caps at 50 there's nothing I can do about it. If this raid is a success, I'll probably run a few more so try again next time
Hope to see you all there!
Edit: Just noticed the Villains are doing one on Saturday night. Good luck to you guys, maybe you'll have some tips for us for the Sunday if you aren't successful
Edit2: If you have time, or are really bored, it would be MEGA helpful if you could put together some teams to kill GMs which drop the Essence Of Earth enhancements to resist Hamidons damage. They drop from the Devouring Earth GMs in the hive, as well as the ones that spawn on Monster Island in PI. I'll try and put together some farming teams in the day on Sunday, and we'll be clearing GMs to get Hamidon to spawn before the raid, but the more EoEs we have, the easier the raid will be. -

Anyone else feel that Recluse got a huge buff? he perma spawned wave after wave of bane spiders when we got to him, was wasnt such a constant stream of arachnos hoardes in any of the test runs I did.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't see him spawn a single one while we were fighting him.
