Quote:LinkOh and another random question regarding badges, are there any new accolades that grant powers? How did side switching effect accolades? Example would be the Villain version of the accolade Demonic (That granted like +res all but psi) gave a blue fiery aura, I believe the hero version didn't.
Also what about the villain starting area badge jailbird? Can it be acquired? If I remember correctly the contaminated badge was obtainable post the tutorial but I forgot how. Does Praetoria tutorial have a badge?
It might be easier to just point you to a number of tools that you can use instead. The wiki and redtomax's stuff should cover most of your questions. Mid's and Titian Sentinel cover dealing with builds. -

The message of the opening sequence is simple, and it is this: Friends dont let friends see Conan the Barbarian sober. It should be seen in groups, and it should be seen while heavily inebriated. Bring a designated driver; he or she should go see Fright Night, which doesnt need the alcohol to be intoxicating. Quote:Ultimately, Conan the Barbarian is a bad film, bad from the bottom. Trust me, its much worse than you can imagine without seeing it for yourself. Thats the challenge of Conan. Where is that line between so bad-its-good and so bad-its-atrocious? Conan straddles it, a result that will likely elicit a cacophony of exasperated laughter in theaters this weekend. Viewers may find themselves shaking their head and whispering under their breath, Are you *bleeping* kidding me with this? But more often than not, even through all the bewildered regret, audiences will probably be smiling at the bold, audacious awfulness of it all. -
Quote:Sales don't validate, or condemn a rating for it. My often used example is Britney Spears since her first two albums sold over 32 million copies. I don't care if Transformers 2 sold over 400 million. It still was nowhere near a good film. The first one was decent. The first Pirates film was good, but anything I have seen from the following ones did nothing for me. People want entertainment. Critics want art. Sometimes those come together, ie new Planet of the Apes, LotR, etc... Sometimes they don't, ie Transformers, Iron Giant, Almost Famous, etc...IS the transformers series a failure too?
Transformers 1 = 57%
Transformers 2 = 20%
Transformers 3 = 36%
each movie made over 400mill.. and was a summer block buster success each time.
same goes for the last two pirates of the carribean flicks.. it ranked 33% & 45% and was still one of the biggest block busters of the year each time.. -
At least they posted about it this time.

Quote:It's Posi's baby. It's the devs new shiney that they can use to get people playing and playing. I don't need to check the temperature in Hell to know this isn't going to happen. I wouldn't go down there to check anyway. They don't serve breakfast in Hell.If they put diminishing rewards on the trials I'm giving up on the Incarnate system.
I think one issue with the incarnate system that doesn't really get talked about is slotting a T4 is just too expensive. Not only do you need the drops for a T4, you need to craft two T3s. Think about what needs to be done for a T4 Destiny. You have to unlock the alpha slot, interface slot, destiny slot, craft two T3s and then get the salvage for the actual T4. How about no? Many consider the T4 not worth it. Why? The cost for the reward is simply out of whack and since players "have" to max out their characters, this adds even more to the grind. This says nothing of the number of things that can be unlocked for your characters via the trial rewards like e-merits. -
Quote:Funny thing I just thought of for Fire/shield. You could nuke and not lose your mezz protection. Ar/shield for rolling nuke goodness.Fire Assault/Invuln with Defiance. Load the attacks with Kinetic Combats and Thunderstrikes and the Resist powers with Aegis. Add Combat Jumping, Weave and a Steadfast Unique. If you're not softcapped to all but Psi, you're damn close, plus good resistance and a self heal. And if AT modifiers are attached to Inherent, as suggested above, both your ranged and melee damage are insanely high. If Endurance is a problem, add Brute Energy Mastery for Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection (and another ranged attack AND another cone).
Not nearly as overpowered, but Dual Pistols/Super Reflexes would be damn fun.
IIRC, CoH was built like this before it was released, but the devs changed it in part because tank mages were about the only thing rolled. -
Outside of domination, controllers have better control. Within domination, doms win for control. I have a level 50 Plant/storm/ice and a level 20 Plant/fire. The dom is definitely more offensive based, but the controller was one of the more fun trips to 50. It becomes solo friendly fairly early and I can't recall what diff setting I tried soloing a Freakshow mission on. I know it ended up being around x4, or x6 and this was using SO type slotting in the 30s. I think both are equally fun, so I don't think you can really go wrong with either. My guess is you will want the dom more.

Within the past couple of days I was thinking about the state of brutes in regards to farms and for some reason you popped back into my head because I believe you were one of the guys soloing AVs I believe with a Fire/fire back in the day. FYI, Burn got fixed and is now back to being awesome.

Fire Blast with an armor. /shield would work for abuse purposes.
-
Energy Armor is also getting buffed come i21 so that will also help out your character.
-
I would just use the crafted one. The Med pool works for some characters, but tends to be wasteful on most. I prefer the day job badge for mission completion bonuses until I hit 50.

Quote:I don't see why you can't have 3 slotted damage and an end reduc in there as well. All the more so if you are looking at getting sets. (thinking) The only sets I could really think as being an end drain would be Stone and SS due to the Rage crash. If you don't use Mid's you should. Go here and get it. Also use the Titian Sentinel link so you can log into the game, tab out, and then use the utility feature to export your build into Mid's form. This way you can post what your build currently looks like.I'm just scared to sacrifice damage. Because the two I have the main problem on are my PVP guys. Especially with people with massive regen powers

The 3 I listed all have PBAoE auras which means they play well with Time's PBAoE. No other builds that get Time has one. I think from a concept point of view Ill/time is amazing, but I just can't see myself rolling one.

Facing +5x8w/b while SKed with you and the farmer is going to out weight being on a full 2xp exp team.

Quote:It's that way for some people. I did not mean to imply it was an issue for you.No offense Amy, but you are way off base in regards to what I was speaking of.
Quote:Okay, this part stopped me cold. I know redside is traditionally less populated than blueside...but VIRTUE was "normally difficult" to team on? The same Virtue that's ALWAYS #1 or #2 for server load year after year? The one with all the roleplayers on it, who cannot really play solo because there's no audience? By what conceivable standard is teaming normally difficult on Virtue? Are you roleplaying a plague carrier or something? -
It's more like someone putting a nice healthy meal in front of you with vegetables and then saying, "After that there is ice cream and cookies." How slow are you going to eat that meal?

Quote:Because mine will sell before yours. Not that it matters in vast cases, but if I'm in the sell it now mode, it works. Hell, I have bought Kinetic Weapons for 1 influ and relisted for 1 influ just to work on the selling badges and made influ doing so. I really don't feel like sweating 4 influ when I'm making billions.I sell for 100 each. because 1-100 it's 5 influ to list (notice the final list/sell deduction from the market is 199980). So why should I lose money on a market listing?
The salvage situation is ALWAYS out of whack after DXP. Just some of the stuff is rather RIDICULOUSLY borked price-wise right now. It'll settle down again in a couple weeks. -
Quote:Salvage will be even more out of whack due to 2x exp weekend. I honestly sell my salvage for 1 influ.Hint: Marketeers aren't the ones driving prices up.
Here's some common salvage I listed for 100 each.
Now I sure as hell didn't list these for 500K each.
Newsflash!: Using this to manipulate the prices on the market (up or down) makes YOU a marketeer TOO.
One of us! One of us! One of us! -

Quote:CEBR and Lowbie Farming MapsYou can farm a character to 50 in 3 hours? And play them "normally" to 50 in 30?
I'd like to try that just once. Someone point me to these farms. And someone tell me how to get ANY character to 50 in less than a week of playing.
CEBR was done in 5. I can only see getting to 50 in 3 if somebody is PLing you. 30 hours from normal play I highly question the phrase normal play. You may now wipe the shock off of your face that these are in the brute forums. The kicker is SS/fire isn't the ideal build for these and can be done with normal builds that still meet the AoE requirements.
Fact. Slowest leveling I did during 2xp weekend was running radios at +2/+3 and I do have the day job badge for mission completion bonus. If that's massive exp, then what is doing a WTF instead? I could have done a Posi and 1-2 TFs easily in that time frame and gotten more exp for it. -

I've not even been on a handful of farms in nearly 6 years until I made a character to see what it was like to self PL one and I had transferred 3-4 billion at that point.
In regards to the OP, it's stuff like this is what shows why people farm to 50. Play an Incarnate that has all T3s. Now go solo a level 3 character. -
Early contacts you can call after 1-2 missions. The higher up ones will make you wait longer. I think a recent contact that only had a short arc waited until I was 75% done before I got their number. Granted, it might have been after mission three, but it just felt odd to wait that long.

Quote:Let's walk though this. Do I think I am a bad player? No. Because I don't think I'm a bad player, I don't expect my teammates to due a lot. Because I don't expect my teammates to die a lot, there is no reason to take a 2nd rezz. I'm probably even competent enough to where I can support my teammates using the primary that the game deemed to be good enough to support a team. Because of this, I don't need to use the Med pool at all.I will take Resurrect for sure so I'll have 2 rezzes (I'm taking the Medicine pool as well).
Now, you may suck bad enough at playing an Emp that this doesn't match up with your thinking and in that case don't play an Emp at all. Or maybe even a defender although FF is like Defender for Dummies.
I will second the controller recommendation based on your like of support and not caring about damage mindset.
