  1. Requesting a review for Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue: http://cohmissionreview.com/2009/05/...aurant-rescue/
Was a little mistaken since I thought you had reviewed it already.
  2. Excellent job! I'll double check the entries for mine since a review or two seems missing, though that may be due to the forum purge.
  3. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the First Respec Trial
  4. Actually, the guide has been a lot of help to me. I'm somewhat new and didn't know how to use the search function. Much better than shouting in Broadcast. I try not to bother people who are on a mission map or already on a team.
  5. 1. If I have an IO with a set bonus and I slot it in Hide, will I lose the bonus when I come out of Hide? In other words, would it be better to respec so that it is in one of my Willpower toggles or stick it in Combat Jumping?

    2. I have a nagging feeling I have too many toggles taken in Willpower. Level 33 and I've taken everything but the toggle for environmental damage (Heightened Senses). Was this wise? I don't have Health/Stamina.

    3. Out of curiousity, what all counts as environmental damage anyway? I'm assuming falls and lava but anything else?
  6. Review some things and it looks like I NEED to do the Tresparcial Trial. That said, is there any way to determine what order you took the powers you currently have?
  7. Yeah, that level gap problem with Snakes happened on an arc I was designing. I'm wondering if the devs might possibly fill it. There was one other group (Freaks I think) with a gap that the devs extended their range in the MA versions.
  8. I'll gladly help any incoming villains. Look me up. The blind leading the blind :P

    Rogue Escorts

The escort overriding other objectives may have been due to quirks with spawn points. Try on another office map to see. Also, double check to make sure the other objectives don't have some sort of prerequisite accidentally set.
  10. I'd like to but I have a feeling I'll be busy this weekend. I'm most anticipating Virgil if I can only get one in.
  11. I enjoyed Rise of Drakule. While the EBs are there, it's relatively balanced and makes sense for the power combinations. The only thing I'd note is that while he's deadly up close, Drakule can be handled if you can keep your distance.

    Chat bug fixed!

One valid comment made by testers during I15 is that sometimes testers AREN'T the best people to use since they know things too well. People thought to type things and see if the chat bug came up. They didn't think to do random "normal" gameplay . Plus, in defense this seems like something obscure that would only have been caught by accident.

Actually, redside has the Silver Mantis SF which has a pretty cool map for the final mission (the Sky Raider base which gets used only a select few other places).

Otherwise, the OP's idea is good. My only issue would be to open it up to all AE arcs and simply allow enhanced search options so it's easy to find your SG's missions.
  14. I think it would be good if it were looked at in a different way. As an MMO directly, it's intriguing yet problematic for a few key reasons. However, it would be good as a FPS or general action game that incorporates MMO elements. A couple of these exist in a lesser form (as far as MMO-ness) and would actually be the audience/niche you'd want to target.

As far as achievement is concerned, the measurement should be done in a title system based upon which of the instanced missions you have completed. While "bigger" missions would be worth more overall, specialized missions should be available for people who the "lesser" tasks. Sure NPCs will be happy that you saved the city from Godzilla but they'll have a deeper respect if you take the time out of your world saving schedule to rescue that kitty, too. Also, if enough heroes ignore lesser issues like street level criminals, it'll lead to it's own zone event and will cause NPC morale to lower.

Collateral damage should be handled differently for heroes and villains. Villains who create heavy collateral damage will be more actively chased by NPC police and heroes. Oddly, the mechanic would probably be most comparable the one in GTA IV where police chase you after certain crimes. Would tweaking so that it be a valid threat without being overpowering. Heroes would have the NPC reaction of them change negatively and affect their title (thus a direct detriment to your achievements) until enough non-destructive goodwill actions are done. Both should have a monetary fine since some players may ignore or even enjoy the "consequences" (say...they find the police chase thrilling).

As far as powers are concerned, it's fine to "start strong" if handled right. However, there should still be ways to improve and enhance your powers as a longtime protector/destroyer of the city as opposed to a beginner. Also, there should some sort of teamup mechanic outside of just "lft" that makes you more powerful as a unit in a "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts" fashion. Some attacks are more powerful/lower cost or are team exclusive like Wolverine + Colossus's infamous Cannonbal Special or a "castling" situation where you and a partner are fighting 2 vs 2 and switching targets temporarily gives your team a stat advantage.

Something to keep in mind with a reflexes based game is that while speed and reflexes DO mean a lot, there's still plenty of room for strategy if the combat is designed properly.
  15. The Virgil attempt failed. However, I'm intrigued by the fact that all three who were there were Dominators. This has me interested in possibly doing an all Dom run of Virgil at some point over the weekend. Any takers?
  16. Both arcs have gotten a decent amount of edits and are awaiting anxious players to critique them.

    Canon Fodder

Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue *points at sig* has finally undergone some major changes I had planned to give it. I'd like to see some opinions of it in it's current form.

75% of the time I suggest someone else's arc instead of mine on Arc Night since I like to show people arcs I've enjoyed.

Arc Night? This sounds cool. What's Arc Night?

On the Victory server there's a group, Victory United, that does nightly events. Monday evenings they have an MA event that alternates factions (tomorrow is redside). Whatever people suggest gets run. Regardless if it is a farm *scowl* or a story. The earlier you show up, usually the better your chances of your selection getting picked. I've missed/been late to a few but it's generally good fun. Even if it is a farm, no one is picky about what you bring.

    It's not serious business.

Of course not. It's Serious Business!!!

In a more, erm, serious light, negative critique can be a good thing. I recently got a two-star on one of my arcs since they discovered a logic error (which was exceedingly embarassing) and a level gap that almost led to a wipe. Fixing these greatly improved the arc. Someone else two-starred it because they didn't find the arc funny. Since that's opinion, there's nothing I can do about that. However, one of my efforts to extend the length of the arc he very validly called out as being a pointless time sink and I'll be editting that soon.

Personally, I'm fine with negative critique as long as it is actually constructive. A couple of reviewers might stand to have slightly better tact in how they say things but a lot of us submitters need to grow thicker skin. Something else is that we positive minded folks need to promote each other. 75% of the time I suggest someone else's arc instead of mine on Arc Night since I like to show people arcs I've enjoyed.
  20. I'd like you to try Illpracticed Malpractice *points at sig*

It does have an escort but the entire level is only 3 floors and the arc is a single mission. Been doing heavy edits so I'm trying to see how the current version holds up.
  21. Sounds like a cool idea. The only problem is that instead of coming up with a unique archenemy, some will just try to exploit it. However, a degree of randomization would prevent it from being too abusable if done right.
  22. Actually, I'm going to change my mind and say Renault instead since the Respec has a much large level range that you can do it and still get XP.
  23. When you say "poll" do you mean an actual poll somewhere or do you mean simply posting suggestions on this thread? If the latter is how you suggest, I'll suggest the First Respec since it probably be best for me to know how those work. Being new, I'm pretty excited and look forward to playing SFs, especially since I haven't done them before. Plus, some of the people from last Sunday are looking forward to more team opportunities.

In math, anything x 0 = 0. That's why that comment was made. It was understood what you meant, just throwing that out there.
