... or else it was this. But hey, don't stop ranting on my account.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Silly, Fulmens. *Everybody* knows the reason prices came down is because the evil marketeers were thwarted by the holding out of influence on the part of the general populace, not the increased drop rate of the recipes. /sarcasm

There you go sweety I fixed it, thanks for posting something so irrelevant to the topic. It also holds true that this is not an english paper, and you are not an english professor, and if you were I would advise that you focus on grading papers not online board posts. But then again, time makes fools of us all. Whatever you need to fill your (success) ego balloon.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thank you, precious, for fixing your errors. It is much easier to take you seriously when I don't have to muddle through incoherent writing. If you are so concerned about material of substance being posted, perhaps you could contribute some instead of being patronizing.
  3. I'm beginning to think that anybody who doesn't know the difference between your and you're should automatically be ignored since a lack of fundamental grammatical knowledge usually indicates some lack of rational thought process.

At least in this thread the case holds true.

Edit: God bless Firefox and the creator of AdBlock Plus!!!! How I love that I can right click an unwanted image and never have to see it again! Huzzah!

Absolutely pricelss, Werner! A sig-worthy line if ever I found one! I am still chuckling.

In other news: JDouble, you are going on /ignore. You don't have a shot at the arguments, so you're taking a shot at the posters.

Second this. Now if only there were a way to block out avatars too without just shutting off image loading in my browser.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
My impression was that the majority of items (ie everything but purples and TF drops) were supposed to function in a "store-like" manner. Basically plenty of supply, very reasonable prices.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Where did you get that impression? I would think that if things were supposed to function in a store-like manner, they would have made everything available in a store. That's just me.

    [ QUOTE ]
Price is not the issue now with this, but many IO's that should have high suppy just don't anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I suppose that the fact that you can earn tickets at a pretty good rate (the ticket cap left out) to be able to create quite a nice supply of recipes even in excess of what they were prior to MA may have been left out of your calculations. Before the MA nerfs, recipes were falling from the sky like rain in Oregon. Now it's more of a drizzle, but still, everything in the MA should lead to *more* recipes, not less.

Just a few questions on the reasoning in your post.
  7. Well, I extend my kudos to the marketeers who had the patience to deal with the silliness of the propositions made by the OP. I am a little surprised we haven't had the pleasure of an intervention by Mod8.
  8. Tis true! Which is exactly why I said, "Overabundance." At least it was tolerable before AE. I used to make it a point to avoid PI as much as possible, now it's AP. Same problem, new location. That's all.

    Screenshot fail

I don't know what's going wrong. I only know that it works just fine for me by resetting the bind to p. Reset the bind to printscreen for all I care. Situations like this is why I always check my folder before I fight rather than just assume its working.
  10. AgentMountaineer

    Screenshot fail

Printscreen just stores an image on your clipboard. What I do is create a keybind to take screenshots. The exact code is:

    <font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>/bind p screenshot</pre><hr />
You can substitute any key for p, but that will get the images saved in your folder. Oh, and do make sure you do the /screenshotui 1 first. It seems like the default is 0 so you'll take the image, but without any of the extra stuff like your powertrays etc.
  11. I love your avatar, Flux!!! Pure hilarity!

For whatever reason, the RNG loves giving me Alchemical Silvers :-P

What is it? Isn't there a one in six chance it will be an alchie?
  13. Indeed! Any means to avoid AP is good news to me!

    Halfway there...

Cliche as it may be... the 2nd 500M is much easier then the first.

    [/ QUOTE ]
How true that is. Took me all my game time up till a little over a month ago to get 1 billion. In less than a month I had 2. I'd probably be well on my way to 4, but I'm hoarding for 2XP weekend.
  15. Kudos! Top hat, monacle, and teabag = one sweet screenie. Congratulations!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
On a slightly related note - you do know you can pay SG rent over in Galaxy City and continue to avoid AP. right?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can't say that I remembered that fact until now. Even a 3-year vet can still learn things.
  17. Wow, that sounds like quite the task. I know I racked up an easy billion in the last month, but getting up to 3 billion/month might be a little more difficult. But with 2XP weekend coming up, that's a good opportunity to make some nice profits. Then, I imagine that there will be another issue release before December so playing your cards right at that juncture would also be useful along with just every day marketeering and play
    time.

Hmmm...maybe I'll have to go back into super marketeering mode and see what I can do. I've only been passive on some of my niches lately since I hit the inf cap and have been hoarding for 2XP.
  18. Your point is taken, Fulmens. It is far too easy to only remember the changes I have hated rather than those that have made the game better across the board for everyone.

When it comes down to it, regardless of any complaint I might have, this is still the only MMO that has held my interest enough to justify the subscription over an extended amount of time.
  19. So last night I was in AP to pay up my SG rent and noticed a costume contest being held under the statute of Atlas. Since the advent of MA, I have made it a point to avoid AP because of the overabundance of spam text scrolling through in the broadcast channel as well as the blind invites that might get through my AE AoE defense shield.

Anywho, anybody who has been here before AE probably knwos how the costume contests work. I sometimes like to take a look at those who have lined up to see if I see anything interesting and then saw that the reward for this particular contest was a whopping 1 Million influence!

Now, being an ebil marketeer, I thought about subverting this CC to start my own at a much more substantial reward, but that would have reduced the amount of time for my normal preferred activity of whooping on Rikti in the RWZ. instead I just found the person who had the best costume, IMO, and gave them 15 Million in inf.

I just thought it was silly that so many people were standing around for 1 Million inf. What does this have to do with the market? Well, it was playing the market that made 15 Million an insignificant amount of inf to just give away. I also gave a level 50 Numina: Heal IO away to an unsuspecting lowbie the other day who was vending their enhancements near the Atlas Statue.

Who says that we on the marketeering forums are all heartless S.O.Bs who jack up the prices of everything with our greedy flipping and craft-and-sell practices? Let it be known that there is at least a little bit of generosity here!
  20. It's a regular practice since I13...lousy, stupid overreaction to farming.

Edit: Then again...maybe I underestimated....I wasn't aware of the implications of ED because i was still a relative Newb to the game, but then there was the nerfage of /Regen in the super early game too.

Always a matter of making things too good to suck you in and then severe nerfage to bring you back to earth with the promise of significant improvements in the future. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. That pretty much seems to be the model for CoX.
  21. Here's something that is pretty close to my current build. I pulled this off of somebody else several months ago, but it was the building block for what I have now and actually does have capped typed defense though you have to run a lot of toggles to get there.

    Have fun!

In this case I'll be happy to remain blissfully ignorant of the difference in performance until the price comes down or I happen to have my bid fill. Right now, I'm only about 3 or 4% off of being softcapped on all my typed defense, and a double stacked Divine Avalanche keeps my melee capped so I'm good. I've downed a dozen or so AVs at this point and I've found that defense isn't something I want so much as it is more damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Now there's an idea for a new global IO...

    [/ QUOTE ]
You know, for as rare as PvP IOs are, I would think the Glad Armor proc would have a higher +Def bonus than just 3% measly percent. Shoot, i can get that kind of bonus in a Steadfast Protection proc and it isn't even a purple.

But you're right, the idea for a decent +Damage set or proc would be nice. Though, the -Res is kind of a step in that direction.

Heh.. i know extra +def is nice to have and all.. but being worth more than billion inf?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I know I didn't think it was. I'll put in a bid and hope that somebody will list low enough that I'll be able to grap one up. I'm still willing to pay good ifn...just not 1 Bil worth of good.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You'd be surprise what the difference is between softcapping and "nearly" softcapping a typed defensive build. I bought one for just under a billion and thought that was a bargain after seeing how well my scrapper performed. When the patch comes and this IO drops down to $400m, you can be sure I will have my bids in for multiples.

  24. I'd recommend a WS and build for super speed and stealth. Makes getting through missions a breeze.
  25. Well, shoot. I would never have suspected *that*. The ebil increases!
