The only Praetorians not seen in a incarnate level TF or iTrial are Praetor Sinclair (Chimera), Black Swan, Infernal, Dominatrix, and Shadowhunter. Though, Shadowhunter is dead and Dominatrix shows up in Dark Astoria.
They've also pretty much outright said that we'll have to deal with the Praetorian Hamidon too.
They also said the next two slots, Hybrid and Genesis, will be released together. -
Honestly I thought the article was a little disappointing because it just sounds like they went "Well, the sewer trial is popular. Let's just push the numbers up, change enemy groups, and tack on some story". Just the way it goes on it just sounds like they decided to go with more of the same while wedging in some lore content.

I rather like the Praetorian Vanessa DeVore. Well. Liked. And Penelope's new model isn't half bad.
-
I hope guys at least get the shoulder rings too ;p
-
I'm kinda guessing the 1st honestly, since they're taking things down for Server maintenance anyway, seems like when they might do the push.

I'm not fond of him, but mostly because he's still the batman expy. I'm kinda glad they're cleaning up some of the blatant copies, might make room for more original or at least less standard characters to step in.

Quote:That's actually another problem. The Team Searches are also mutually exclusive. There's no way to see if anyone is in Praetoria without actually going there first, and when you're in Prae, you can only see folks -in- the 4 preatoria zones. It isn't like the main game where you can pop open team search and see that, hey, there's like 7 people in Cimerora, must be an ITF forming. It's a complicated issue thats for sure.
I'd love to spend more time in prat. But due to its low pop its harder then other places.
BUT!!! and this is where lot idiots don't think about or actually bother..If it's low pop and you wont go there, then ofc others wont..People moaning about it need to start going there more often and others will see more there and go there 2.
Takes one to start an army.
They have mentioned they're making more Praetorian content though, so we'll just have to see how that goes. Actually it's been kind of hinted they'll add some more stuff to First Ward too -
Quote:This forum is called 'Player Questions'. I'm actually asking him if he has a specific question. If he just wants a discussion there's a forum called "General Discussions". This is where players actually come and pose a question.Looks like he's starting a forum discussion to get his answers.
Do you have an actual contribution, or are you just being rude?
See, his post is extremely vague. As the first responder note, he doesn't include any other information. So, you tell me smart man, what is he asking? You seem to be making an assumption, based on the rest of your post. Is he asking what server to play on? Is he asking what's a better time to play on? Is he asking why villainside is so empty? I didn't know, because his post was not a question, just a statement that could be interpreted a few different ways. Hence, I asked. I wasn't being rude, I was trying to clarify what he wanted so I -could- contribute if indeed he was asking for more information. -

Quote:Seriously? Because if the majority of Veteran/VIP's avoid it like the plague and complain about it being too hard and ambush happy, then obviously the new/F2P players will get the wrong idea about the difficulty of the rest of the game from their first impression and stop playing.
Yeah cuz the dragging them into DFB in Atlas and Mercy is teaching them so much about the whole game too. -
So... is there an actual question you'd like to ask or are you just commenting?

Quote:It sounds like you outleveled the zone. As soon as you hit 30 everything shuts off.I played First ward only once but it was... short. Nothing interested happened.
Didnt saw Diabolique or Sorcerer Selene.
How can I find them?
Vanessa DeVore is the final First Ward contact and the Finale to her arc has you fighting Serene as an Elite Boss.
Go to Ouroboros, you can do every First Ward arc and they're numbered to help you with the order. -
Quote:I don't really see your point. Side-switching in Praetoria is -extremely- limited. You choose an initial alignment and then at specific points you can choose to switch. The only benefits of being one alignment over another is A) Access to the specific 'Radio' mission contact and B) Access to the exclusive 'lounges', ex. the Resistance underground bases. It's really nothing like the main game side switching and while they're Resistance or Loyalist they can never go beyond the 4 Praet zones and Pocket D. And as you said, when you hit 20 you pick a side and that's your alignment forever unless you use a change token or buy the aligment system. It isn't like side switching in Praetoria gives you Alignment Merits or the like, so giving Freems free access doesn't seem to be a problem to me.Side-switching for one thing. Keep in mind that Praetoria is basically two sides rolled into one, with the amount of content to match, at least for the 1-20 range, so it would be equivalent to starting out with a roguelante, only with less travel involved. Praetoria is a starting area - at Lv20 you get booted into the game proper anyway, so rolling a Praetorian is more of a summer job than a career.

Question in the title.
Finally got to run the Dr. Kahn Taskforce and see what a brick wall of HP the Reichsman is. Anyhow, the previous mission gives you the Dimensional Grounding Ray temp power to use on him.
So, what's it do? The detailed info is no help, it just says basically to use it on Reichsman. When we did the fight I started off nailing him with it and periodically re-applied it, but I can't really tell if it made a difference or not. Naturally, I'm curious. -
I'm honestly a bit mixed. I kind of agree with Leo, I prefer more 'this objective is optional, but it will help you if you get it done' style missions than strict "Do this right or fail".
I've done a few examples of fail-able missions. In Faultline, when you rescue Doc Delilah it's possible for her to be killed. It's not a bad mission, but since you're attacked by ambushes and she will stay and fight them to the finish, you have to hand hold her the whole time. It was honestly kind of frustrating the first (and only) time I failed it.
The other one, I forget the contact, was a 'stop the gangster from escaping' mission. Problem: There's no way to tell where an enemy is on the map without a marker or physically running into them. Given how 99% of the game is, I thought the 'stop from escaping' was merely flavor and they'd be sitting with a spawn in the back of the instance with a couple flunkies. NOPE! As soon as he spawns he begins a dash to the door and since it was a warehouse level there were 2 completely different paths. I chose poorly. Got to the end of the warehouse and no boss. I panicked, -zoomed- back to the entrance just in time to witness him going through the door and seeing that "FAILED MISSION" text pop up. -Really- disappointing. I'd have been better off just camping at the door, but since it's such a complete rarity in the game, I didn't know.
Oh and then that pain in the *** Croatoa mission that from here on out I will -always- auto complete because trying to stop the Fir Bolg from passing through the portal with just a couple people is insane, much more trying to solo it. It's not fun, it's downright frustrating knowing failure is -inevitable-.
Though, to touch on the 'do this or the mission gets harder' style things, I don't mind the mechanic, except when it forces me to feel under the sword of damacles because the timer is too damn short. Going into a level and being told "You have 3 minutes to search 3 floors for a randomly placed glowie or get nailed by ambushes" is -really- kind of irritating. Kind of like with the Halloween Tip mission. It's better for me to just stealth and speed to the end than trying to fight and get a tiny boost of time.
That said, I also agree, I -love- any optional stuff that gives a worthwhile reward for getting it done, including the stuff in iTrials or the Apex/Tin Mage TFs. -
What do Praets have access to that non-Praets don't? To me, Praetoria is way more restricted. No AE, no Supergroups, no taskforces, no trials, no co-op zones except Pocket D and First Ward, restricted to 4 zones (one of which requires purchase to do content in), and lacking a -ton- of day jobs.
As for the outleveling, it really just needs to be spelled out by someone like Praetor White or one of the introduction PCs. That's what really threw me off when I first played, I'd take a lot of different contacts and do a mission from each, then get confused when I'd get so far and they'd tell me "ok, you should see (Contact)" except since I'd outleveled them, it never gave me the actual 'meet new contact' prompt. Or even just introducing that contacts have level ranges (or even -listing them- in the contact window) -
-
Or just let people start there normally, no restrictions. It's got a better introduction than the Galaxy City tutorial. There's no real reason to keep it restricted except as a carry over from being part of Going Rogue.
The only real problem is that while it contains a lot of good fundamentals and basics, it does have a number of key stuff missing, like Praetoria is kind of anti-team since it's waaay too easy to outlevel stuff.
Praetoria is, unfortunately, the new Rogue isles, only even smaller, emptier, and with less reason to start there. You go to Praetoria for the flavor experience, not really much else.
Of course the other problem is that First Ward continues off of Praetoria and isn't available to Freems without purchase. Can see that being a bit offputting to folks, whereas VIPs can go Praetorian from 1-29 without crossing over. -
Quote:Right and that still answers the OP's question. That's the benefit. You can make missions like that where it's purely story. You couldn't do that with a team.I believe that the OP is asking if there is any reason why there would be solo only content, not if there was some.
Outside of that though, yeah, there's nothing in this game or its engine that really benefits from making content only do-able by 1 person. -
Quote:Actually the reward trick with Minds of Mayhem is that there's no Astral cooldown. Completing the trial will always reward an Empyreal merit. The Minds of Mayhem trial has no such reward structure. I've finally been able to get on successful MoM trials and have had common rewards most of the time from it.
Underground and Keyes are the only trials with rewards weighted more based on their difficulty, though even that, only Underground guarantees a rare or better.
