Quote:Yes, the market stuff goes with you. I don't use the vault much, but I'm pretty sure that has been confirmed each of the million times someone has transferred a character during the past couple of years. The only stuff that doesn't transfer is the supergroup stuff, and the list of friends on the old server. Global friends and chat channels go with you, along with all of your personal possessions.
There is no list of servers by population, but you do get a list of servers by load every time you log in, which is close enough. The server at the top of the list is the one you last logged in to. The rest of the list is sorted by load, lightest at the top and heaviest at the bottom.
thanks -
Quote:That sounds like a problem waiting to happen (except in the cases of solo SGs). The Superleader decides to take a base without consent of his SGmates (or on limited notice) and outs them of all the prestige they may have contributed to the SG; all this under the assumption that only the Superleader would be the only one with access to that option. That's a great idea, but to "complete" the character transfer, we still need a way to transfer Prestige. In my case for example, I invested millions and millions of prestige in my base, and restarting my SG on another server, and regaining all the prestige, badges, etc... before being finally able to "Load" my base, would still be something that would prevent me from moving from my home server.
Even under the best of intentions, there would be no guarantee that SGmates would agree on what server to transfer to or could afford to transfer.
That's why this is a purely cosmetic transfer; outside of floorplan and item placement... everything else would have to be handled independently of the copy/paste. -
1. Has anyone verified if a toons market and/or vaulted items transfer with them? Especially if there's been a name change?
2. A list of servers by population please? -
Inspired by the free character transfer gift.
Treat the bases the same way we would costumes; something that can be saved and used by another toon.
Create two save options: Save Floorplan and Save Placements. Both would tabulate an approximate total cost as part of their respective files; allowing each to be 'pasted' only if the paster has the prestige available to cover the costs. [and if the placements match the floorplan it's going into]
Adding the 'Upload Base' option to the base edit screen.
[This would also allow for the rebuilding of bases that have been trashed by members-gone-postal or hiccups in the system]
Unfortunately, this wouldn't cover individual items stored; so players would be responsible for manually transferring their wanted items. -

lol, so no one cares about the Winter Event enough to give it play in it's own thread?
-
Well, now I need advice. I have toons currently on the Infinity and Victory servers; which 2 servers would be the next step up (population-wise).

Quote:Must be this... I only have a handful of toons that have earned the tailor Day Job badge but I'll double check at some point to see if redeeming vet coupons makes them display in the salvage window; especially being that the toon in question has multiple coupons. [...then again, maybe it's because you can double up on each day job badge?]In any real sense of the word, they really aren't "real" salvage, but they are displayed as if they were. Perhaps you're thinking the tailor discount coupons you are seeing are related to your toon's Veteran rewards ("free tailor tokens")? If so, they're not. The coupons you see in your "Salvage" window are strictly related to the tailor Day Job badge (only).
You cannot trade or sell it -- similar to AE Tickets, or Reward Merits.
More information on all sorts of fun "salvage" stuff at the wiki here. -
I know I've missed something... but when did these actually become actual Salvage?
-
I was hoping it would be something as 'easy' as adding a effect duration flag of sorts; similar to the flags that make Contacts, Trainers and Pedestrians ineligible targets.
-
I'm not sure if anything has been done to make powers like Black Hole more player friendly; if not, may I suggest that intangible enemies become untargetable in the same way Succubi become untargetable when they do their Charm (or whatever that thing is); unless you're out of phase as well; in which case in phase opponents would be untargetable.
This would allow for Tabbers to automatically bypass ineligible targets in favor of eligible ones.
Or...
To at least give out of phase targets a recticle of a different; stand out color.
Also, allow pets to know the difference and respond accordingly; if they don't already do so. -
AE farms can still be easily made (using the steps above (or even part of)); using similar steps, you can devise them not only for individual powersets but for AT types as well.
The new diff function can boost end rewards dramatically (-1/8man); just like it can for Purple hunting.
A good, solid ally with an equally solid AoE mez set works wonders.
A good, solid ally with weak attack(s) and solid team buffs works wonders.
Critter self rez can be annoying but it helps counteract the xp nerf (still don't know why they got rid of ally rez for critters)
Question is, can you get in trouble for doing these things despite the fact that they merely put the custom arc on par with a standard arc (as opposed to leaps and bounds beyond it)
As far as getting rid of old arcs; they should follow a similar formula for when a toon isn't logged into for awhile. If an arc hasn't been played AND it's author hasn't logged in for X days, the arc is automatically unpublished. That'll clear some of the clutter.
Power-based XP for critters should've been done differently; a multiplier based on number of and tier level of powers chosen (without the 'must-have-these-two-specific-powers-or-its-nillville' (or is it 4, counting the secondaries?) against a set base XP (dependent or critter rank). - Basing XP on whether or not a CCG has all three ranks is pure butt and wouldn't be necessary with the above option.
The varying nerfs do affect storytelling for some writers (not every writer is the same); especially when it comes to power exclusions (or even inclusions) and the tri-rank nerf.
All in all, AE isn't a total loss for those that can both work the system AND attract a following but being that people's attraction is more based on the obvious... with the most recent based in mega-nerfing; we are at the point where a major mechanic has been reduced to a niche attraction (at least it's still here). [And that's kind of sad considering that it was supposed to set the pace and change the face of MMORPGing as we knew it] -
Personally, I like creating challenges for players; and I like rewarding them for taking the time to subject themselves to my flights of fancy.
I'm not a story nazi but I'm not a farm writer either. However, in order to keep my goal of keeping my arcs appealing (reward-wise); I'm having to use overlooked mechanics and filler critters.
IMO, MA needed to be released in a fashion that reflected good, solid hands-on by the development team and/or (emphasis on 'and') attention to playerbase feedback. But it seems that it wasn't. Not in it's initial presentation nor in it's rectified update. Hopefully, there's something in the pipes in the order of a more balanced approach but given the teams track record; it may not happen in a timely fashion. Although for something of this magnitude, it should be.
And I do take into consideration project, time and manpower constraints... so this is not a Dev-bash assessment. -

...by barely tapping your jump button while swimming in Ninja Run mode, you can momentarily run on top of the water's surface?
If anyone knows a trick to extend the amount of water-walk time, please share. -
...or something that I've overlooked before?
Going through the Market, I stumbled on a 'Conceal' inspiration (I though I saw another odd one as well but today, when I went to verify; there was just the Conceal ones).
Is this something that has yet to be released, something that is currently available or a remnant that has yet to be removed? -
Quote:, totally different discussion than this one.Oh for the love of-... My thread on this was only on the next page!

Being able to unlock a secondary inherent upon reaching 50 seems like it could be a neat idea.
-The unlocked inherent would be a lesser version of the one in use by the AT that unlocks it (By both reaching level 50 AND acquiring a necessary Accolade). The secondary inherent would be weaker than its counterpart:
Fury - Would take twice as long to build, depletes twice as fast and have half the buildup value
Scourge - Chance to scourge would be reduced by half and only do 50% of what normal scourge could do
Domination - Control powers would last 25% longer; no mag bonus. Domination would last only half as long and take longer to recharge
Containment - Applies 50% of normal containment buff to damage and only applies to the attack following the successful application of a control power against a target
Critical Hit - 2.5% chance of critting a Minion; 5% of critting a Lt or higher.
Defiance - Half the 'normal' stacking damage bonus for a 50% shorter duration
Gauntlet - Limited to poke-voke mechanics
Supremacy - +3% to hit; +8% damage in a 20' radius [to all allies/pets]
Vigilance - 50% of the endurance discount available to standard Vigilance.
Assassination - Each attack has a small chance to Demoralize targets at a fraction of the strength and duration of normal Demoralize
Cosmic Balance/Dark Sustenance - omitted from the list for the time being
-The secondary inherent would be available to [deletion] future character builds.
-Only one secondary can be utilized by a single character build.
-A character would be able to respec into a new secondary inherent; if one is available and only to those that have already been unlocked.
-[A character cannot take a secondary inherent with its parent; ie. no Scourge/Scourge] -
I know the official versions have been worked and released by a select few however, they have also been a few unofficial updates and a few guides on altering/adding individual powersets. I haven't heard of any restrictions concerning either of these; which is why I view the overall deal as open-source; even if the official updates aren't. IMO
-
Actually... it should be an easier deal to put together than the standard Mid's. It would pretty much be a power placement prog with stats; without snags such as enhancements, slotting, temps, AT modifiers or inherents.
A visual planner/utility for those that want to see the cogs behind the critters they're throwing out or those that want a visual setup of experimental combos.
Even if it's just another AT selection (choosing 'Critter' as the AT instead of the standards) subroutine that allows for freeform selection of powersets/powers (following the limitations of the applicable live version of the Critter Creator); that would be well enough.
And, like before, I am not posing this suggestion only to the current Mid's contributers (to me, it appears to have been an open source project of sorts); anyone that might have a wild hair, some time and the aptitude to come up with an unofficial update or even detailed instructions on how to modify the database to allow the addition of a new AT and corresponding powersets is more than welcome to give it a go.

Pleeease? lol
[either as a stand-alone or as an AT addition] -
That would be Division 1 Walmart stores.
Most Walmart Super-Centers are already open 24hrs; with the masses camping out inside. They started coming in at about 9:30pm at my store today. -
Didn't I read something, somewhere about character slots, MA arc slots, character transfers and renames being offered at a big discount for Black Friday?
