Black Hole (and ilk)

I'm not sure if anything has been done to make powers like Black Hole more player friendly; if not, may I suggest that intangible enemies become untargetable in the same way Succubi become untargetable when they do their Charm (or whatever that thing is); unless you're out of phase as well; in which case in phase opponents would be untargetable.

This would allow for Tabbers to automatically bypass ineligible targets in favor of eligible ones.

Or...

To at least give out of phase targets a recticle of a different; stand out color.

Also, allow pets to know the difference and respond accordingly; if they don't already do so.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
*Arc #95278-Gathering the Four Winds -3 step arc; challenging - 5 Ratings/3 Stars (still working out the kinks)
*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

I was hoping it would be something as 'easy' as adding a effect duration flag of sorts; similar to the flags that make Contacts, Trainers and Pedestrians ineligible targets.

Actually, that's what it's most usually applied by as a combat stat, but untargetability itself is a game-wide function which is very capable to exist on given target. For instance, Rikti beaming in during raids are untargetable for some time, despite standing in full sight. Mastermind Henchmen, as well, are untargetable until their complete their summon animations, but WILL be caught in AoE effects, both positive and negative. So they are able to be affected, just not able to be targeted, and again, only by us. NPCs seem to have no problem targeting things we can't. My Medic, for instance, will buff my Commando before he ever lands.

There is a mechanic somewhat like that in the game already: pets won't target something that hasn't fully spawned in yet. I've noticed this in the Rikti raids and apocalypse events when enemies are visible and targetable by players but immune to any abilities used on them. In those situations, pets won't target the not-fully-spawned enemies (and it can be handy to aim through them). However, petz r dum and will target phased-out enemies, such as Master Illusionists and those affected by Black Hole, Sonic Cage, etc.

So, it would seem that if there's part of the AI that processes "This thing isn't really here, don't act on it," it might be possible to code something similar into player targeting, although that would sort of defeat the purpose of giving mobs phase-type powers.

Another alternative is to make the phased condition somehow more obvious. I'm partial to having it force the mobs to do the "chicken" emote, but that's just me
