It's not a serious post. But there is that little twinge of surprise at bidding ssuper-low and getting it right away that says "ya know...I coulda gone a shade lower..."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's exactly it.

It's like anytime you bargain. You offer, and the seller says "Sold!" immediately. You begin to think "Hey, I could have paid less for this?"

    Meowchanics

I'm personally still stumped as to why they were called "meow".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Rikti Com officers resemble cats, due to their masks , is another reason I'd heard.
  3. Mission clues.

Lots of space and allow for some major recapping and everyone gets to read them.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
I agree short arcs will get more play. I think this is a direct result of the TF mechinism. I really have no idea why they had to make you be on a task force to run the missions but I see people not wanting to waste time quitting tfs and reforming them if they do one mission and feel the arc is not worth playing. If you could just drop the mission arc and remain teamed, you would have a better chance the team would do longer arcs in my opinion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure about this? I've invited people into MA missions before. I was in the middle of the mission and they logged in, I invited them, and they joined me in the mission. I thought it had been modified so you could invite people mid-mission/TF.
  5. Also, I almost gaurantee, that as soon as you do delist it, and reset the price, it will:
    1) sell. Someone will likely also get the slightly lower price off you too. ( you list it for 1.88 mill, and they'll bid 1.9 mill and get it)

    2) There will be a flurry of activity on the IO and it will be selling for even more than what you asked.

Murphy's law affects the market too.

I'd sit on it a little longer, unless you desperately need the slot and money.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
I read whatever the people put in their missions. Sadly, I don't tend to find many people that actually DO that.

They write up a decent description for the arc to lure me in and then I get inside and BLAMMO, nothing else. No chatting mobs. Generic descriptions when I hit info on the mobs. No clues, nothing for collection items. Just bland old defeat boss, collect clues, defeat all enemies.

I'd really like to find a way to sift through the flotsam and find some really good arcs. I mean, apparently there are some out there.

    Aren't there?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. One of the best ones is Ascendant's ( yes, with an "a") Saul Rubenstein's Discount Task Force. It's a DC one and is full of details to read.
  7. I try to read it all. I get a pretty good idea if there is anything to read by the description and intro texts though.
  8. I have one arc I made for public consumption. (Atlas Stands)

The other two slots I use as needed for RP missions. One off missions when there's not an arc or Radio mission that would fit what you need right now.

Currently working on an arc that's come about as a result of a friend's character needing a body. I'll probably put it up for the VG to run and then take it back down after a a while.

Honestly folks...this is an MMO. How high a standard do we want here?

    How high can we get?

    Then...we raise the bar.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. That attitude has always baffled me. Of course we should always set the bar high and keep raising it! Imagine what would have happened if novelists, film makers, and artists had always said the same thing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then they'd be political speech writers.
  10. Just speak like William Shatner.

From the Ten Ton Hammer interview:

"Like writing a novel, mission arcs in CoX constantly evolve and spawn even more arcs."

What??? Since when? Please name one mission arc that's ever changed, ever. The above quote from the Ten Ton Hammer page is quite simply an untrue statement. The mission arcs in CoH/V have never evolved.

BTW, you're still calling Issue 13: Power and Responsibility? I ask because it's a new week and I was wondering if it wasn't time to rename Issue 13 yet again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hrm, I'd say he was speaking from the idea of behind the scenes. Write a mission. Spawns an idea for another. Write it up, another idea comes out of it. Have to go back and make a few changes for the new direction. Much like writing a novel or story.....

    Deviant Art v6

I like it. Must easier to get rid of deviations and messages than before. I like the thumbnails. I don't have to go clicking on them and wait forever to find out if I really had wanted to look at it.

If you want it listed, all you do is click the little box on the right hand side, above your deviations. There's two fo them, one has 4 squares in it, one has lines. click the box with lines, and your deviations will go back to how they used to be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

we're aware of that you can change it back to the list form but it doesn't STAY that way. Try this: go to page that has the deviations, click on the list button so it switches to the list form, the go away from that page, then go back, it reverts back to thumbnails

    [/ QUOTE ]

Instead of using the backpage button, the first time, just hit deviations button once, after setting it to list and then clicking on one. From then on it's fine. So, to explain:

    Set deviations to list.

Click one deviation in the list.

Use the deviation link next to your account name to get back to the list (Do not use backpage)

Notice all deviations are in list format.

Now use the backpage after clicking links to your heart's content. Closing the tab/window will not cause it to revert back to thumbnails.

Seems hover/flight needs re-re-tweaking. Flew into the train and upon exiting the train in a new zone Cerebrawl is vibrating like he's having siezures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Flight or Hover on?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same for both. (I'm not the OP, but I'm having the same issue.) It stops if you move, but starts again if you stop moving but still have Flight or Hover on. Shutting off Flight/Hover ends it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I noticed this on live last night, and when I joined a group, they were complaining about it happening with group fly as well.
  17. Ok, Turkey, and Projectionist.

Now to get some brain bleach and a cerebral sandblaster
  18. Does this mean then that if I draw a pencil sketch of Superman and post it on the internet "This is the best Superman I can make" I run the risk of litigation from DC?

No, but if you try and profit off of that, then you do.

NC soft profits off of people playing the character, that is how they are able to be sued.

But, he's not a robot. He's a quad amputee. There is a man inside that shell. So, more like Iron man, but mechanical limbs.

And congrats Glowie. I've been watching it as it progressed.
  21. agreed. The $5 was an amazing bargain.

Especially since she included duos in the offer.

I was very happy to have gotten in early.

I finally broke down and paid for some art to be drawn. The offer was way too good to pass up, so I am posting it here, in hopes that others will support her.

This pic is SFW, but a few of Pheonixelement's are not. Carefull running through her gallery.

    GRAVERED!!!

That's a great piece. I live Graver's work, and this is one of his better pieces.
  25. I was caught off guard when he asked me if I wanted in. I know Bay finds great artists so I was very happy to be a part of it.

*adds to his small but highly prized gallery of art.*

    thanks Bay.
