Better off Ted was great. Free on netflix. It is like a live action Dilbert.
-
On beta, using Viki, and the following build. I cut my time to 2 min 11 seconds. I can live with that, and may very well convert this build to my live build. It is only 2 slots, and 1 power off from my current live build.

Quote:He is correct, in a PM he suggested several things that I could do to improve my DPS, but it would sacrifice a bit +rech, and some of the end drain I enjoy when solo. As I told Micro, I will test the changes tomorrow, and post the time. Then someone who is good at da maths can figure out what the DPS is.I've got one somewhere,... just have to figure out which computer. From what I am seeing of Zyphoid's build though, and some calculations of another, KM can destroy that. I also know firsthand that DB can quickly overshoot it.
I agree, with what another poster said about PS being like a scrapper furry with enough +rech. Not to mention CS may not crit, but all of the other attacks do... -
The only non melee (not scrapper, brute, or stalker) toons I have ever played past 30 were a DP/EM blaster and an Archery/Fire Blaster. I just like to beat on stuff.

Quote:That seems like an awful lot of energy spent on the label of a thing. We're talking about an open-legged piece of cloth that covers the waist and upper thighs. It may or may not be attached to cloth above the waist.
For female models, there are no "dresses." There are "skirts" that you combine with a top to create the illusion of a "dress." This isn't unique; it's how you create many one-piece outfits in this game. The parts are broken up. A "skirt" is only a "skirt" when it's not a "dress," or a "tunic," or a "robe," or "what everyone wears on Tralfalmadore," based on how it is used.
I would say that you should have this conversation with a Scotsman, or about anyone in the SCA. I bet they would love to argue about too much energy going into the naming of a piece of clothing. -
Quote:Done, I am pretty sure I could decrease the time even further if I slotted LF for damage. Also I hopped on beta and tested my times with t4 of both of the pets I am considering switching to for concept. They were Storm Elemental, and Arctic Lights. I was not impressed.Would you mind pming me your build? You've revived my interest in km. Either way, high five on putting another electric armor in one of the top spots. Solidarity and what not
In the run with Storm, I had a VERY lucky streak, and PS was up over half of the time. I was still over 3min. With Lights I didn't have the streak with PS, and was still under the 3min mark.
If I were willing to actually attempt to use the recommended attack chain I may be able to lower it even more.
I would say in 78 months KM/ElecA is the most fun I have had in this game. -
Quote:Great! My wife is an alum, so....Re: ClawsandEffect, thank you! Your post was exactly what I needed. Now I can do a little homework to procure the sets I need.
Re: Zyphoid, You bet your sweet sweater vest I'm a U of M fan! As far as the Ninja pack goes, I just got the wrist-slap from my better half for buying the Steam Punk pack. So I'll have to hold off on that. But thanks for the suggestion.
On a slightly different note: what do you guys & gals think of Blaze Mastery vs. Darkness Mastery? Initially I was all giddy for Blaze, but now I'm thinking that Darkness (much like the rock band) rocks!
Also, the ninja pack is 50% off right now, and can be purchased for $5. Just sayin. -
Quote:Yeah, I tried to make an MMA themed brute a few years back, and I wanted a mid thigh tight fight shorts look. The best I could get was a speedo look. What REALLY Baffles me is that males don't get access to any shorts outside of the vet reward pieces @_@ that's just weird
Really, we could do with just a pattern that was mid thigh. -
Based on your location, and my hope that you are a UM fan, I decided to comment. If you have been gone a while, you may find it beneficial to start a new character. /WP feels like what /regen once did in the way it plays.
Also, if you buy the ninja pack you may feel ok dropping super speed. With sprint/swift/NR you can get up to about 69mph with various IO bonuses added in. It also has better vertical movement than SS.
If you are not a UM fan, you are welcome to disregard all I have said. -
Quote:This is VERY COOL!! I had figured it could be done based on some of the FX used for the PPD in GR. Just remind David that it is good to give this cool stuff to the players, and not keep all the good toys for the NPCs.
The Ascension Armor and Victorian Decor auras are the first auras to demonstrate some very exciting tech - FX geo that scales with physique to avoid clipping issues. We can do a lot with this new tech, and a decent energy armor aura is definitely on our wishlist.
Quote:Another factor is that FX time is shared by a lot of other tasks besides auras. We are constantly working on effects for new powers, villain groups, zones, cutscenes, storyarcs, etc. An issue full of new powers and content, like I20, doesn't always leave a lot of time to devote to auras. Still, we realize how important character customization is to our players, and we do schedule time for that. We just can't focus all our time on auras and nothing else! -
It also needs to be noted that PS with good luck can be up a lot longer than BU, and more often. The instant recharge that CS offers is hard to factor in, because it is not a constant, but it should not take it completely from the equation.
My build is at perma hasten levels, and CS is up a lot. I also stuck a chance for BU proc in PS, it doesn't hit often, but when it does it is very nice. -
Quote:W/o, I can never keep them alive. :/Is that with or without lore pets, and pre- or post-reactive fix?
Also, it was pre-reactive Nerf. I will run it again in the next day or so to see what it is now.
Edit: Just ran it again with Viki, and it actually shaved my time down. to 2min 38 sec. I will do it w/o Viki again as soon as my kid is not attempting to distract me. -
The Roman battle kilt looks pretty good too. We asked for a loin cloth for years, and got the big "No".

A trip to the mall and you will see plenty of guys wearing their sister's pants. Now days they call them skinny jeans, and it is stylish.
Meh, I will not lie, there are some costume options I would rather not see male toons wear. I have the option of not teaming with those characters, and avoiding them. That is my choice, and it by no means should force others to dress a certain way.
There are some barred options that are just plain dumb. I hope it is just a matter of man (or person if you prefer) power, and not an unwillingness to let those options cross genders. -
Just wanted to say, not all of it is that bad, and some of it looks really good with certain options. The Radiant Ascension glove option looks crazy good with Vanguard, and Rularuu claws. The boots also may be the best armored boots ever put in the game imo.
-
Quote:This is reasonable.I'm of the opinion that cosmetic options should have a dual-path to acquisition most of the time: you can buy them, or you can earn them. I have stronger generally balance-related concerns with powers and abilities. Pay-to-accessorize I have no problem with. Pay-to-win I think is generally radioactive.

Quote:I agree there is a bit. One of the reasons I am not in a hurry on the Steam Punk pack is because I only play male characters, and the costume options in it for males is a little thin IMO.Reference: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=247757
With the new and awesome steampunk set that has been released, people are already complaining about the still lack of costume piece choices being only male or only female.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...66#post3667966
The people have spoken and are still yelling at you CoH Dev team!
So the only questions I have are is when? And why not sooner then that?
There are several areas that come to mind. Females get really cool bracers, males don't, how is a bracer not a unisex costume?
I have also may be just a matter of what they had time to make. -
-
What is considered high end? My pylon time is 2min 50sec with my KM/EleA. That seems pretty good to me.
I would have to say that KM is the most fun I have had with a set since DB was released. I prefer flashy animations, and would love updated versions with this amount of style for all of the melee sets. Some need it more than others (Claws and BS I am looking at you).
The only thing I don't like about KM is the sound fx with it. I like the end hit, but would rather of had a swooshing wind sound. -
The new auras on the Ascension armor makes me thing that the Combat Auras could be expanded, and well. I would like to see an options added for Combat auras that animates like the H.U.D. except is for the whole body. It would give a great energy armor feel, versions could be done that have about ever origin theme.
-
I am sure it is profitable. The steam punk pack is the only one I don't have. I want it, but it is not in the budget.
I think even some of the doubters would purchase them if they continues to support them after release. Example: There needs to be a "with skin" option for organic armor from the mutant pack, and a monstrous hand of the same item. -
Too many. I end up rotating out a lot. I really wish I could have more costume slots, then I would have less saved. :P
-
Quote:While I agree with much of what you say, this is not one of those things. Reducing the cost of something after it goes live really sucks for those who initially purchase it. It is far better to listen to the player base and reduce the prices to reasonable levels now. Also, I'd like to point out that if they err on the side of starting too high, they will figure it out via datamining and adjust prices down. It's not like they'll just sit by while 0.05% of the game's population gets the stuff and everyone else gives up. If they screw up and start too low, however, they can't exactly jack up the prices later. For one thing, everyone already has the loot, and they have it account-wide. For another, yeah, that would go over well with new players.

I like the idea of costume options I can earn. I just do, I have always been a stuff gamer. I do not like the current cost, but I know they will come down. I will admit that in the past when working on system design, I have started high, and then come down. I am sure that is what is going on here. It may not go as low as some (or even I) want, but it will come down.
What I see happening here now, and the past few weeks, isn't really entitlement. It is more the adherence to the cultural norm in this game. People are used to having instant access to the majority of costume items in this game. With that changing, people are going to get upset. Change is not often taken well, what is viewed by many as negative change is never going to be taken well.
I like the end game content, I am happy for it. I like some of the costumes and auras being attached to that system. It just doesn't really bother me, but I recognize that it does bother some. I think there are some things in the incarnate store that should not be there. Some of the auras, a few of the emotes, and some of the chest designs should go into the system for free.
I don't think anyone is really begrudging the end game, or those who like it. From what I can see, in this thread, they just don't want costume options attached to it. I think the solution would be to allow for the conversion of a different in game currency to E and A merits. Perhaps 20-50 reward merits for an E-merit. That would allow for those who don't want to do end game, or team, to still access the items attached to this system.
I am not a fan of paying for them with real money. -
I am sure the prices will greatly come down. I may would purchase this as a booster, but it would greatly depend on the final cost of the stuff in the system.
I would rather boosters be things that are new to the game all together.
