Quote:I actually think you just missed the point. You missed the point again.
I actually agreed that's most good arena players would win in a match against a zone scrub... I don't remember saying anything about arena players losing to zone players.
You want me to believe that anyone who arenas can walk into a zone and roll everyone there regardless of the odds and what not against good zone players? Fine. If you're right and I'm wrong about this statement
then things would sound like this:
Arena player do not fear but enjoy being farmed in zones when solo vs 4 good zone players and 2 heavies.
Arena players never call for help cause thats dumb in a zone. No, usually theres no need for teammates or communication at all when arena players go to zone. They solo zones all the time against 20 people and 3 heavies at once, all the time!
Arena players don't ask for arena matches in zones, cause there arena players... why would they, um wait. Arena players don't arena in zone cause they prefer the npcs and heavies of arena, no wait that's not it. tbh I have no idea how of why you feel the need to disagree about dumb stuff. If you've never ever ever heard a good skilled arena player come into a zone and advertise for an arena match. I can only asume you that your zone experience has been limited to BB or something.
Finally if you're right and I'm wrong, then good arena players never QQ about npcs in a zone, or QQ about anything ever really, except for PvP system as a whole when in zone, and when you want arena settings that they don't etc, or when you come to deh boards and lol at arena...
You stated you can deal with bad situations better than the arena players and I gave you an example of two arena players rolling up an entire zone.
Now as I've said before, the reason they like to arena is zones are slow and boring. Arena forces action and you can move.
I like your attempts at misdirection. Way to argue over dumb stuff. -
Quote:Well this is news to me. Its complete ******** but okie. Mostly the "skilled arena folk" just roll up everyone in the zone. I've been in the zone where Hot/Silit rolled about 12 villains up by themselves.Zone means you might want to figure out how to deal 4 opponents and 2 EBs against just you and one other... as well as many other f*d up situations. This is the part where the skilled arena folk fear getting farmed and start calling for help or bcasting for others to arena them or QQ'ing about npcs or something. Understandable as well.
Now you're making things up and its starting to shape up into a really good internet fight. Im enjoying it a lot. Please do continue about arena players losing to zone players. -
Quote:Gems of knowledge Im sure.Like the fact someone can use Warburg Nukes to debuff and damage a dozen heroes for 5 minutes when outnumbered 15 to 3 or something... (I hope I'm not the only one who does this)
So these better players you speak of who shy away from an unpredictable zone, and cling to the thought that Zone PvP is dumbed down and beneath their skill level... well they're just like the people who have been zoning and getting good/better for the past year and a half who think arena is kinda dumbed down and beneath their Enjoyment level. Rare I know... but they're out there.
Only because the better players are still thinking in terms of ST. We'll get there X. We will.
Funny thing is, I've watched matches where the arena players would take on zone scrubs. Even when keeping lolzone rules on, the arena player wiped the floor with the zone player. Arena builds are optimized and are built to deal the most effectively with any other player.
The zone rules hurt the zone players more than the arena players. The only reason arena players choose the turn them off is because its extremely unenjoyable to whoop on on bad players while moving half as fast as they could.
As for getting somewhere, **** that awful mess. The closer we get to i12 rules the happier Im going to be. -

Quote:Are you really trying to give "strategy" to something as simple as tpfoe? Really, like theres any thought process as to tping someone where they don't expect to be.lol it was just as untrue the first time time you said it Eppy.
TP foe is a great mitigational tool if you didn't know, just as easily used to save lives and prevent spikes as any power or better when used right. Who needs to farm an Emp/ when you can just ruin their rep by tping them away from their heal targets in their time of need... lol over and over. Anyway, I'm sure peeps will get there eventually. Right now I beleive the only use people find for it is TP Ganking... which peeps haven't figured out yet so they say it doesn't work anymore...
Also, TPing a SS/SJer way up into the air is as good as or better than your average slow power... when teammates are aware of thier location. You can fall in style but ya can't really manuver like you want until you hit the ground. The higher the better.
Oh and wormholing someone straight up into the air when they're already a couple hundred feet off the ground after taking away the ability to fly is funny, and when the range of wormhole is invested in... you can easily put someone near the ceiling and watch them helplessly fall. Significant damage indeed to most squishies and anyone without good HPand a quick kill if you remember to snipe or add DoT at the end of the fall... decent enough mitigation/distruption for anyone else.
Just so you know, when you tp me and I have SJ toggled, I can moved quite well through the air. The game mechanics of SJ are not broken because some awful player is tping me through the air. Its all the same falling, and Im still maneuvering.
I am impressed by the fact that you continue to argue though. You managed to keep this thread interesting long after the information people were seeking was given.
Nice job. -
Quote:Thats ridiculous. I think a strong point to go to is in the high 50s to mid 60s. After that the DR curve is just too steep. That extra 20 or so defense after 60 just isnt adding much. How much ranged def is too much? got 80.2% on my build so far, worried i've gone too mad...
You could spend those slots getting better hp or more +dmg. -
-
Quote:Well I would but I can't exactly get on the game at the moment. Afghanistan has poor internet connections.A good excuse... if server transfers weren't free atm. Don't be afraid to learn _Lith_
... and don't let the smoove taste fool you.
Sorry, I look forward to "learning" from you when I get back in about a year.
Also, loltraps. GG -
Sorry I was asleep for your walls of text rebuttles.
I don't know how many bad pvpers are on Virtue now, I haven't PvPed there since i11 but if they make you think you can just lay traps and "let them kill themselves", well I guess I don't need to argue with you.
You go ahead playing a bad non MM trapper and Ill go ahead and keep laughing. Hope to catch a webnade soon... -
Quote:Well since you can't read and assumed I said Traps/ Defender and not traps toon, I can see where the problem started. Irl used a traps corr. I didn't say anything about a defender, nice job.I didn't know defenders had /Traps in I12.
A well built /Traps toon is more than viable in PvP.... especially in SC. I just haven't rolled a defender version, but knowing that the debuffs from one would be stronger than my Corr is enough to let me know a /Traps defender could cause a lot of hurt for a team of villians. (Main reason I mentioned defender version was for the obvious stalker protection it would provide in SC)
Also defenders are support... who rolls a defender for damage? Nevermind silly question.
I've only seen traps viable in team pvp and the arena. You can't force someone to stay in your traps zone in zone pvp, even with tpfoe. The removal of -maxrunspeed hurts trops and if you can get someone to stay next to poison gas trap or seeker drones or trip mines after the no phase second ends after a tp, then hats off to you for fighting an idiot.
And lol stalker protection from traps, there are more drive by thunderstrikes and impale spamming than AS's going off.
Bottom line is Im not going to stand in your bad traps field, if Im on any toon Ill kite it if you wont move. Or just use the range provided in almost every toon to almost completely negate it.
Oh and I rolled defenders to do damage. When combined with debuffs to the opponent, they used to be able to do solid damage, atleast for a non damage primary class.
And just to be a bigger *** hole, defenders never had nor will ever have /Traps. GG -
Quote:Because Defender Dmg is for the most part lol. That combined with a primary that almost adds nothing to help you in PvP, it makes for a pretty awful toon. With the bounty system the way it is in SC, I had a blast with a /Traps toon. I barely had to move... the zone just kept sending folks my way to die. It was funny.
I'm actually suprised more peeps haven't rolled /Traps defenders for PvP.
Last time I saw someone not just be completely awful on a traps toon was back in i12 I think with irl. And he still wasn't going around taking the zone apart, more or less just not dying a whole lot. -
Quote:I still don't understand why people bring up comic books like that freaking matters at all. Despite you naming super strong characters whom you would consider "tanker" ATs, I can name a few who I would consider "scrappers".This thread happens every on the verge of every major expansion by the way. Guess you guys just have not gotten the message the last 20 times or so.
I could name like 100 toons in super hero lore that are SS guys, none of which I would call a scrapper. I can think of 100s of toons in superhero lore which are martail artists...none of which I would call a tanker or a brute. Hmmm but you say SS fits scrapper. Umm no. The scrapper hand to hand mellee set is MA. Love it, live it, embrace it.
Enjoy
Cipher
Does that matter?
Not in the ******* least. Stop bringing it up. -
Quote:Infinity.Well EXCUSE me for not bothering to immediately register so I could troll around on the forums arguing with people 66 months ago when I created my account. I guess I had better stuff to do. Like play the game.
But returning to the original discussion, your theory assumes that the character in question has the DPS of a blaster and either A. Comes upon the enemy unawares or B. It's a duel. I dunno what server YOU played on, but ganking perma doms were all to common for me.
And I would fight them on my storm dark, spines/regen, and Nrg/Nrg.
Like others have said, it basically came down to using breakfrees. And I was worse then than I am now. -
Obviously, but the fact that he's making up things combined with the reg date gives me that idea.
I didn't find the forums for a year and a half almost, but I don't go around saying perma doms defeated everything in zones either. -
Quote:Considering your reg date. I don't even think you were around. You seem like the type that would read the forums from all the people complaining and not get into the zones/arena at all.You don't like to read the whole post, do you? I said I DISAGREE WITH THE EXTENT THEY NERFED IT.
Yes, in the old days, it was a challenge. A challenge that could be overcome, sure. Assuming you could get up off the ground and smack the person outta the air.
All the builds you are claiming were superior to all (lol perma-dom killing everything) don't even work out in the old system. There were a few exceptions such as m3z rolling people up, but most blasters could destroy a dom in a quick volley if they were skilled enough to press like 7 buttons.
I don't get your reasoning. -
-
I would probably take the end/rech (?!) out of Health.
-
Didn't realize the +perc was that high in CM. Sounds good though. I still like having my own forms of +perc as Emps are made to be disrupted.
-
Quote:You're not necessarily calling targets, just need to get your debuff off before the countdown for the spike finishes. From what little Arena experience I have, they seem good in 8vs8. You will be calling targets.
What's the secondary?
As for Rad/ on defenders, its a mixed bag. Not having the perception from Leadership because you needed phase kind of hurts the AT.
Vert does well on his though, so it depends on the player, same as about every AT. -
-
Quote:Then why'd you decided to PvP on a fire/psy instead of a mind/fire?I've had this account for 2 years now...I just never made a forum account for it..when I decides I wanted to start pvping I bought this account so I could easily PL all my toons...most of my pvp toons are in this account except my fire/psi,spinez/regen,and fire/mm...
-
Toggles are toggles.
Also, wtf did you buy a second account? -
