I have a bid for you that would net you more inf than you could sell on the market. Let me know via PM what your best cash price is.
best, yomo -
Quote:So how did this idea work out for you? I am not totally sure but I think I saw more than 8k of these still for sale 2-3 days ago.
I was part of the great purge, and I don't think it "proved" anything. I think I also got my "sell 1000" items by selling to others in the great purge. Common salvage is, well, common. -
I run the Oroborous TFs all the time, great way to get merits solo. If I had to do it on a team I think I would rather swallow broken glass.
-
I'm already doing my part: buying all those lvl 50 crafted IOs at under 5k inf and reposting at 8mm.
-
Interesting that I would get incarnate shards as drops. Also, one of my mission complete recipes was a lvl 50, but the mob defeats ones were lvl 15.
-
I took my level 50 blaster solo through the Positron 1 arc via Ouroborous, not really knowing what to expect. Obviously, I was exempted down to lvl 15, but inf rewards seemed comparable to lvl 50, and I got two incarnate shard drops. All salvage and recipes dropped as if lvl 15.
On completion, I was awarded 40 merits (which I think is higher than normal) and the Positron's Ally badge, but no additional incarnate rewards.
So, it looks like doing it this way gets you some of the advantages of the WTF, but not all. -
Actually, that makes sense, since the crafted have traded at 650mm in three of the last five. Too rich for my blood -- I'm not willing to pay 650mm for something that costs me 500mm and 10mm in salvage and crafting costs. But a lot of people are willing to do so!
-
I'll pay you 480mm for it via direct trade. That way you keep 480mm. If you sell it for 500mm at the market, you only net 450mm after the market fees. If you want to hold out for 650mm, good luck to you but you may be waiting a long time.

Quote:I'm seeing more and more where the crafted IOs are significantly cheaper than the component pieces, and that's not even taking crafting costs into account. Some of this is the "craft and sell for 1" (which I LOVE!) attitude, but I think that many people either look at the IO or the recipe but not both.More and more, as I browse the market looking for a niche, I find that the recipe prices + salvage+crafting cost are nearly the same as the crafted item. Sometimes the recipe cost and crafted cost are the same!
Have more people "learned to market" as inflation has hit the game, or is the market being biased towards level 50 items due to all the 50s being run for incarnate content and shard hunting? Most of the sub-max level items aren't moving at all, comparatively.
(Note that I didn't look at purples other than a glance, as I can't afford to trade in them and have yet to have one drop.) -

Quote:I actually get pretty good bang for the buck from lvl 10 to about 20, but then the supply really dries up. If you run some AE missions and roll bronze, you'd be surprised at how many frankenslot-worthy recipes you get. There had been discussions in the past about frankenslotting with low level Set IOs during your low to mid levels (ie pre-30s) as an inexpensive and effective way get better attribute boosts than straight DOs and Common IOs. Several forumites have given their testimonials on it. I've tried to do it on a few occasions and I just don't see how it can be done.
Low-level Set IOs are just too much work for too little time benefit. I might use what I get as a drop, but still, the cost to craft these suckers are also a deterrent.
They won't sell for !@#!@#, but it's a good way to self-frankenslot. -
Quote:Making markets (or "flipping" in your terms) can be extremely profitable. It just depends on what you are making markets in. Common salvage, probably not so much. But it's a great way to get your sell badges.Pure flipping generally doesn't yield worthwhile results over time (and per ounce of effort). There are exceptional cases -- flipping purples, for instance -- but the purportedly populist complaints about flippers or market manipulators most often arise from the wild variance of very low-value items, most often common salvage.
-
Ok, can't help you then. I'm better off selling in the market. Good luck!

I assume you mean the 5 that don't include the proc? What amount of inf are you looking to spend?
-
The highest bid goes to the lowest offer. So if someone bids 5mm for something you are selling, the system checks to see who is selling it for the lowest price. If you are offering for 3.4mm and someone else is offering for, say, 2.9mm, then that seller will go first.
-
1. Someone has made your life worse. Get over it.
2. You cannot buy something you want right NAO. Bid higher. Get over it.
3. The AE uses the same interface as the recipes. Get over it. -
As Adeon and Fulmens say, unless demand is pretty clearly high, you could be sitting on your IOs for some time. In my experience in selling low level (under 25) IOs, you are probably better off selling the recipes rather than the crafted IOs with the corresponding "crafting markup". Most shoppers at those levels are looking for bargain shopping, and it seems to be easier to get bargains on the recipe (where people see a bid on the marketplace and flush it out at 1 inf) than on the IO (where the crafter had to make a conscious decision about whether or not to craft it, then had to craft it and post it a price that he feels provides him with an adequate reward).
My rule of thumb is that I give it a week to sell. Then I either repost at a lower level, at a sell-it-NAO level, or I just delete it and move on. -
... doesn't mean it isn't true! My bold and italics.
"Based on current usage and our projections," Destin Bales, Development Director for Paragon Studios said, "we predict we will run out of Experience Points exactly one year from today, April 1st, 2012. And I would like to point out that Influence isn't looking too hot either."

Well, when they introduced Demon Summoning for masterminds, they should have realized that the threat reports would increase. Curse you developers!

Quote:I saw you guys chatting about that on the channel and I applaud. I did the same thing with mathematic proofs a week or so ago. It took me an hour or so, but I got rid of every one under vendor price. There were still 22,000 left though.Fellow Marketeers, we have a problem.
Thousands of characters game wide are afflicted with a horrible ailment.
In fact, it is so bad that a group of us have stepped up to fight the good fight and help them be cured.
What do I speak of you ask?
Why, Demonic Threat Reports are clogging their market inventory!
Look at that, isn't that awful!? Please join us in helping to end this threat.
Just buy a few hundred and delete them and the world will be a better place for everyone.
Please, think of the children.
Thank you -
Quote:C'mon, not even a leetle bit crazy?
I don't think you're crazy, but I do think you're worrying needlessly.
I'm not worrying in the slightest, but a "worst case" scenario in my mind occurs when inf stops serving as a useful means of exchange, at which point things tend to switch to a pure barter system. I know that can happen with rampant inflation (Hello, Diablo II!), and I think that can probably happen if rampant deflation occurs.
But this is more of a mental exercise than anything else. Keep your thoughts coming!
