Definately some progress, mang. Not just of quality, but of style.
>.> I really need to get a jorb. -
Darn logic.
Good art has very little to do with logic, and very much to do with AWESOME!
And I think in at least this case, Juggy just art-fu'd the end result (which is fairly awesome - the colors are beautiful, mang!). While he's got an idea of the origin behind the character, in this case, he's just the guy with the pen (so to speak).
And with gunz like that, I'm not gonna argue with the man! D:
(WARNING: This post may be at least somewhat silly.) -
That's a fairly badass sketch, AND a fairly badass costume.
And it helped me get a few ideas for Steel Voltaic Knight's 'stealth' suit, because I was wondering how the Vanguard 2 head detail would work with it... Very, very nice useage.
Would not wanna run into that in a dark alley. >> -
Very awesome!
Certainly captured him fairly well. :3 -
Hee. When in doubt, punch it!
Good ol' brawl.
Very nice piece. -
My best advice ever?
Screw what other people think is neat.
Keep messing around with pieces, colors, and what not until you find something YOU think is neat. :3
And if you see something in other people's costumes, ask them what pieces they used/etc., then play around with some of those same pieces yourself and see if you can't come up with something you'll like.
>_> That's how I get some of my more favorite ones. Expanding off someone else's idea with my own personal touch. -
Looks like during.
Which looks like a pretty :awesome: way to hit 50. -
Something I finally managed to put together today that I'm fairly proud of. >>
I truly do love this look.
It didn't really come together until I got the Vanguard chest option, though. -
It was sort of neat watching it all play out. The feet did look real complicated, as did the hands and a few of the other detail works.
And it turned out great, too! Which is always a plus. It looks like a fun kinda thing to get into. -
Watching that... and checking the notes at the site...
You shouldn't worry too much about the comfort. >> You seem to have a good grasp of it to me.
Though I'm a little embarrassed I didn't catch it until JUST before the reveal. Once the color started going up it got easier.
EDIT: Fix'd. I fail at reading comprehension! -

I wouldnt change a thing. That costume looks awsome.

I think so too. I like the goggles, they're a lot of fun. Goggles up give a feeling of 'well, I'm off duty- HEY!' While having them down is more 'serious business'. I like them both.
Why do you not have both?

I must agree quite wholeheartedly with this post in it's entirety.
They look fairly :awesome: together, dear sir, and t'would almost be a disservice to lose them and break the combo! -
I would, too. Heck, I'd love for EVERY weapon set to have at least as many options as Dual Blades.
The problem, I think, is how many ATs get access to the sets involved. In that regard, Broadsword is indeed a freak of nature (being only available to Scrappers).
Dual Blades is available to 4 ATs, War Mace/Battle Axe/Katana/Claws to 2, and Bows is available to a whopping 4 extendable out to 5 with Powerset Proliferation, and Assault Rifle is extendable to 4.
I mean, comparitively, poor Bows is left out in the cold.
But! Yuh, I'd like to see all of the sets get more little things added. :/ At least up to 20 items. Shields is already a freak, but thematically, there's room there, too. -
Give it time.
There just haven't really been a lot of opportunities to add to some sets (Katana is about the only one this can realistically be argued against - I'd imagine some of the Broadsword special options would be hard/weird when done with the Katana animations, however).
The only sets that really get the shaft on options are the Mastermind-only sets (Pulse Rifle and Dual Pistols); Other then that, only Katana and Archery have less options, and one of those is limited to 2 ATs (the other being available to 3 Hero and 1 Villain AT, with a good chance to having that extended to 2 Villain ATs).
>> Gonna go through and do a verifiable count here...
EDIT: Not counting MM sets:
Assault Rifle - 14
Axe - 15
Bow - 9
Broadsword - 19
Claws - 12
Dual Blades - 20
Katana - 10
War Mace - 19
Further EDIT:
And to skew the numbers even further...
Shields - 41 -
I've used most of the boosters to add onto or smooth out (in the case of the recent set) the look of my Shields/Mace tanker, Donnerkind.
Who's name probably translates into absolute gibberish. Considering he's sort of a joke character, I'm not really too upset if it does. :3
Had to brighten the shot, because it was a quick one-off snapshot that I couldn't really find better lighting for. Sort of annoys me that indoor lighting effects on characters depends more on zone-lighting then indoor lighting. Or it does for me. >> -
...I now feel the need to protect my local Chick-Fil-A in case of BHC sightings. D:
But it's a VERY sweet piece, Juggie. That is one tough chicken! -
It's a lot of work, no doubt there. >>
I was more trying to pinpoint the technique used, to maybe better help out in finding an artist that specialized in that sort of thing.
I sort-of know (as in, technically I know them, but technically, they're a [censored], and I downplay the association thereby) at least one person that specializes in this sort of thing, and it's very cool and snazzy.
Technically, it's like standard photography. Only taken to a bit of a more artistic lean then photography already is.
...Digital photography, plus! -
I have but one comment:
Rrrrrrawr. ;3c
(Translation: That is indeed a very epic job. You both did awesome!) -
It looks like either screenshot editry, or actual CG work.
...Not to detract any, but that's just the general impression I get from it (having seen similar works, though nothing with quite that exact style).
Of course, that's just over a cursory skim/glance, and not any detail work. Hard to make out the difference at smaller resolutions. :s -
... You crazy kids. :3
Also, it looks great, Prof!
Hmm. I'd try and compete, but let's face it. >.> Between some of you folks, I don't stand a chance.
...Though that's not saying I shouldn't try. -
*Headtilt.*
As always, looking good, Alex.
Reeeaaaal good. -
*Idly pins up a banner stating in big, red letters (with foxes dangling from them): 'I <3 Alex'.*
Been kind of scarce in this thread, lately, but I have been following it the whole way through. You have yet to not provide quality awesome with simple sketches, dear sir.
And your chibis are so adoreable. >> -
The question is.. what flavor is the cake? >>
Felicitous Annual Hatching (HAHAHA! It's relevant for once!) Day, TL! -
Very suave look to it, Juggy! And they have a very nifty look to the character, as well. >.> As the player of a self-styled Street Samurai, I approve. :3
Hope your new year is awesome, too!
