3d Figure Sculpt in under 4 minutes...

Ok...still playing with ZBrush and this "Fisher Price - style" thing I'm working with. ZBrush has this cool little "elapsed time" recording feature that I had never touched, well I figured I'd give it a shot.

So...here's a figure sculpt that took me around 3 hours....reduced down to a little over 3 and a half minutes of video footage. And to make it a little fun...I'm not sayin' who it is.

Enjoy...it's a nifty little feature...

4 Minute Mystery Figure

psssst...and for those who watch it...please don't post who it is back here immediately. Thanks

I only did the torso because the head gets modeled from a sphere later (sorry).

Watching that... and checking the notes at the site...

You shouldn't worry too much about the comfort. >> You seem to have a good grasp of it to me.

Though I'm a little embarrassed I didn't catch it until JUST before the reveal. Once the color started going up it got easier.

EDIT: Fix'd. I fail at reading comprehension!

Thanks Miko. There were a few places that gave me problems...mainly the feet, but it went along better than the last time (which is always good right?).

Yeah, it would have been easier to tell who it was if I had the head already sculpted...but then again, that may have made it too easy.

It was sort of neat watching it all play out. The feet did look real complicated, as did the hands and a few of the other detail works.

And it turned out great, too! Which is always a plus. It looks like a fun kinda thing to get into.

Very nice. It definetly looks like you've got it down pat for the most part.

I just found out about this program yesterday, and I've been having a blast with it so far. Although, I've still got alot to learn apparently.

Mind if I ask what kind of tutorials (If any) you've used to help you get started?

No problem. Other than the general google search, I'd check two places first.

1. www.zbrush.com and their "education" menu...they have both free and commercial stuff listed there.

2. www.zbrushcentral.com and their tutorials thread.

Between those two resources...and a little time to play around...you should be set.

Most importantly, have fun.

Neato! The torso looks fantastic. You really got a lot of detail int here. It was really neat seeing everything take shape.

I have to bow before your sculpting might. Great job! At first I thought it was going to be the Thing and then the Juggernaut.

Just awesome video there.

Thanks all! I'm experimenting with this mini-fig style to see if there's anything there worth while. They're fun and relatively quick to do.
