This half-mad glitchy robot begins proselytizing his beliefs (with violence if necessary) and soon begins to work actual miracles (explaining any powers he has whenever I roll him) indicating there may be something more to his beliefs than pure lunacy.
So if you roll him as a MM, he gets zealot followers! spiffy!
  2. A good idea. I hardly consider IR to be an "in combat" power, more a travel exclusive, but in point of fact I also *never bothered to take any travel power pools* because of that. I could have taken others, in order to accent any defenses, but you're right - it doesn't, and probably should, even just in keeping with other similar style powers.

A TF/event that enables an invasion on the opposing side. The game the idea is taken from had a PvP event every week in a PvP Zone (say in Recluse's Victory) that after a side one won the event they would "invade" the other side. While the invasion is going on, you would need to use something like GM scaling cause it'll be open PvP in every zone for the invasion's duration. The game I'm taking this from had 2 zones for the invasion event (like lvl 20-35 and 40 -50. much like how Bloody Bay has a cap of lv25 and RV SKs to 50)

this is an example for context: Every say Saturday night at 8pm, Heroes and Villians go to Recluse's Victory and duke it out for control of the zone. If the villains win in RV, they get to go to Paragon City and cause havoc. If the heroes win, then they go to the Isles and beat up Recluse.

Although, i did miss a point somewhere that they actually start in a zone and make they're way to a certain zone in an attempt to do something.

You'll probably be surprised how many people would actually enjoy defending their turf from the opposing side.
Unless you're a new player who's never known this "schedule" of events, and are trying to make it to your mission door... Once more, you get into the "if it's not instanced or zone-specific, it's interrupting other play experience". It's a better idea than some - but we HAVE RV and it does change based on who wins. It's a good zone, it's fun that way. But I wouldn't want it to bleed over into Atlas or another zone - we had griefers do that and it was clamped down on.
  4. I've already contributed more than enough about why the ideas are *bad*.

Your PVP ability is not being *hindered* in any way by people complaining and being idiots in the zones that are *meant* for that use. You can continue to gank them, heck even laugh at them *because that's what they get for playing pve in a pvp zone, right*? You can turn off broadcast/enemy chat, to just avoid it entirely.

It doesn't make THEIR presence make any more sense, because it IS a pvp zone.

However, you bring *heavily interrupted game play* into the pve zones, by introducing *any* amount of pvp there. Period. Your game play in a pvp zone is simply *not affected* by whining on their part. It's a bad example - pvp happens in a pvp zone. That's what it's for.

Pve happens in pve zones. yes, it *can* also happen in those others, but when there ARE people who WANT to utilize it for that - that's it's priority. People who do cross into the zone *know* in no uncertain terms what they're in for - that's why we get the warning countdown.

If they CHOOSE to be whiny tards? You have my permission to gank em.
  5. Get into your server forum, and check up on global channels. That's the best way to get a group of people you can trust, helping you out.
  6. I'd say while it has some merit I'd want it to be very, very limited in scope. Also, I'd say something that ONLY works on the character, not allies.

Something that has a reasonably long recharge similar to the teleport - since the other self-only powers available this way are very long - that gives a limited benefit. Perhaps extra critical percentage, more damage resistance, etc - that fades in a pretty quick amount of time.

If it were to be used on others, it should probably match in tone and timing, the Mystic Fortune power.

I'm not seeing how that quote fits in.

Badge hunters truly don't have the right to ***** if they're going into a pvp zone. That's just stupid on their part. The zone's for PVP. I accept that, you accept that. Some people don't.

However, this doesn't at all play into the "must have pvp available *everywhere*" idea.

And there is a very fine line between 'crispy' and 'burnt'.
  9. But if you do that with empathy, what about all the other folks?

Empathy is not gimped. It's not EASY, by any means, but it IS eminiently possible to solo, comfortably, with it.
  10. lol I agree. That would be perfect.
  11. Yeah I noticed the redside new reply button was no longer blue. I haven't yet braved the hero skin again, it was just too horrid. I'm used to the red now. After 5 years of hero blue...

    Seen this yet?

I'm hoping that there's a boot feature. Like when you drop or go to the wrong place on a mixed team. There's no reason to have 1's in the War Zone. They're canon fodder.

    Team Origin Buff

With the new rules about teaming, this may just be completely irrelevant

I'd say any doom about that, would be countered by

It ended up causing almost their entire existing playerbase to quit, and failed to attract any new players at all- in fact, the exodus of players pretty much destroyed the game's reputation forever. Yes, I mean Star Wars Galaxies.
    Troof.

Seriously. If we have "adequate" PVP that's good enough for pretty much most of the player base. Even if it were somehow changed to be the most shining fantastic system in the world - it wouldn't change the rest of the players in the game already, they won't touch it just because most of them *don't do pvp*. If it attracted (somehow) some other group into the game *just for the pvp*, all I can see is even more rifting between the two groups.

Whatever happens to PVP here, needs to NOT, EVER be at the cost of any PVE experiences.

  17. From what I learned at the con, Power Customization wasn't backburnered because of other things being more pressing, it was backburnered because it was so labor intensive, and they didn't have staff enough to do it. Once they did, that's all they'd been doing with those extra guys this last year +

I'm sure we'll get jetpacks of some kind sooner or later. They're not MY priority but I can see why people really want them.
  18. I essentially soloed my emp/dark defender to 50. I needed some help because this was before the EB code went in and I "had" to have teams for AV's. Aside from that... I didn't have trouble.

Yes it was slow, but... still, she was my first 50.

Aren't you using your other powerset?

Or if they could just *not* be "blended colors"? I don't get that at all.
  21. Actually the other power pools specifically state they're that way, and the help / info in the game is pretty clear. The only exceptions to the "get a full fledged travel power at 14" are:

    Kheldians.
    60 month vets.

... And that's it. To my knowledge even VEATs don't get a travel power 'free', the way khelds do. But kheldians also cannot select from the flight or tp pools either. I'd suggest keeping it to the way the others are all designed, if nothing more, than to keep it consistant to "ingame" stuff. I still like most of it.

Actually those already are in the list. They don't come up often but I've seen them.

I love playing the "client side images" game. When there are at least one but preferably TWO grav toons in a group, and you're tossing stuff, blurt out what you see.

  23. True, though since that's a pre-designed character and not a player character, who knows. The features which are on some npcs are not always those which we as players CAN get, because they were specifically designed FOR and only for those npc's.

Though that would be one rockin place to have lots of accessories. *adds to wish list*
