Well, I prefer blasting to scrapping, so I'm thinking about bringing over my Rad/Dark Def for this instead of the Scrapper.
Her name is Isotope 167.
If you would prefer having more pure damage, I will bring Libby. -
November 2007, to be more precise.
Not a fan of walk myself, but that's been done to death in several other threads. None of my female heroes or villains are "hootchy mamas". -
Quote:Wow, and I thought I used a lot of exclamation marksOver the years there has been complications with Super group bases, Down below my Super group has suggested really good ideas. So I just had to post them, and hope with your support within the community we can draw attention to the creators!
Add a A.I unit for your base!
Basically you buy disc's that you place on the ground of your base! And then BOOM! When you enter the room a hologram appears controlling many functions of the base!
Just a couple of remarks:
Quote:1. It Generates control!
Quote:2. When you talk to it, It will help you search for items in the storage racks without having the trouble just opening random Racks hoping to find what you need! Just talk to him... (Of course there will be a search bar) scroll down a list of available items... Then drag the salvage into your inventory!
"Yes" to something to allow searching, "no" to one item allowing access to all.
Quote:3.You can edit what the hologram looks like! Hell it could be your SG leader just doing what Sg leaders do best! Support you, it makes a massive effect on role-playing...
Quote:4. You know it, I know it, We ALL do! Base raids are officially taken out, but just in case it returns maybe the hologram can control your defensive guns unit, Since its an Artificial Intelligence it automatically targets threats and is immune to Taunt so it takes out healers first, tankers last!
<soapbox>On a side note - this game doesn't have "Healers" BTW.</soapbox>
Quote:5. Also maybe when you talk to it, it can buff you buy using the salvage and the buff ment (You need a buff machine in order to work) ... Same thing, Convenience!
Quote:6. It talks to you differently depending on your rank, giving you more options the higher rank!
Quote:7. Maybe its not just 1 hologram! It can be multiple characters, The introductions are different from separate ones! One hologram in the meeting room is your SG leader he says "Hello $name, how are you enjoying your stay with $Supergroup?" While a hologram in the library is a formal member and he says "Heya! Have you noticed the SG leader has gained weight? Shh please dont tell her I said that! QQ"
(p.s. - I think you may have meant something other than a "formal" member in the library dissing the Leader's weight - that's not a very "formal" thing to do).
Quote:8. A.I could have also another option.... Instead of emailing ideas for your SG to your leader "O I want to delete that room its totally useless" you can just type it in a note which is punched into a system which other members can have access to it "We already have a dam Hospital! We don't need another one!"
Quote:9. Ive heard of rare situations where people join the Supergroup (A group that fastly promotes) and steals all the inventory away! Now adding a Hologram security will only allow members to take out a certain amount of resources depending on a rank!
A Hologram Security would just be an additional graphic - cool, but not really needed for functionality.
And if the SG promotes too fast, your Security hologram would still have let the miscreant member clean out the bins, since their rank would be high enough to do it anyway.
Quote:10. The most important reason why I think there should be an A.I!!!! Its kool...
Please feedback on this! And we will keep coming up with Epic Ideas!
We only post ideas that are clear or make sense!
Quote:Now a New Forum slang! SBI Super Base Idea, Please spread it fast!
Quote:And ALSO!!!!! Add something to the hologram (A.I control unit)
It has to be simple > Useful > Convenient > And it needs to make sense!

Overall, lots of ideas, but only a few I can see a real use for right now.
But don't let that stop you from thinking of more of them. I will be interested to see what you dream up next. -
Absolutely it's worth it to start this game right now!
In addition to the fact that there are vets starting new characters all the time, I know I have seen (anecdotally) at least a half dozen threads from new folks with questions and ideas show up in the past week alone.
Personally, I have 60+ alts (I'm still a bit of an amateur at it, ) ranging from level 1 (saving a name where the character hasn't quite jelled yet) up to level 50, with the majority of them between 20-35 or thereabouts.
So come on in, the water's fine -
Note that when you claim the Prestige Sprints - they ALL show up in your Powers Window and you can't get rid of any of them, although you can, of course, remove the from the Powers trays.
That can be a bit annoying because they make the right-side bar of the Enhancement screen quite long.
The various Sprints can give some nice visual effects, and if you squint just a bit make it "seem" like you are going really fast.
I also usually take SoM as the Vet power, mainly because I hate redraw. -

Quote:Pretty much. If it's an open PvP area, I'll treat it like RV. I spent as much time as necessary in there to get all the badges and then left, never to return.
I understand the desire for more immersion, and agree it would be silly to see a hero stand by and watch the police get beat up (although I have seen this happen in the current Paragon City), I loathe the idea of PvP breaking out spontaneously right next to me, or worse yet, involving me when not my choice. -
There have been a few posts from new accounts in Player Questions and Suggestions & Ideas from people who just came here from CO, so if not a major uptick in new subscriptions, at least it has brought in a few (and that's just since the "must buy the new filler content" announcement of late last week.)

Sounds like a blast!
I have a level 48 Katana/Regen Scrapper, Libby Belle.
Or if you want, I can bring over a level 50 Energy/Electric Blaster or a level 50 Rad/Dark Defender from another server (since it's free!). -
We don't know yet, especially about how SGs/VGs will be affected.
-
In the teen levels of most of my characters, it seems that I am just as likely to stop to regain Health after every spawn as I am to stop to regain Endurance.
Is there a Health gulch there, too?
It seems to me that managing your Health and managing your Endurance are both things that need to be learned, and doing so in the teens makes more sense than having to learn them later. -
Yesterday, in one post, you began like this:
Quote:But then you went here:It's not the character or the low level that's the problem. I like the characters i've created.
Quote:It's the fact the powers are largely samey and not terribly complimentary. There really is not much synergy and it's a little shallow. I have a Dominator with thorn plant powers and they don't really gel and some of them are jhust the same thing: two abilities that trap the opponent are pretty much identical.
Quote:Furthermore, beyond enhancements (which only really give a little boost to your abilities), there is nothing else. There's no talent point system or means to further customise your stuff. Quote:Don't get me wrong; it's not bad by any means, it's just not terribly deep. Quote:This may well be mitigated when you are playing in a group, but without players that's not an option. The areas are totally devoid of other players. There's not a single other player character on screen. Now that may be because they are all higher level and engaged in high level gameplay, but that's not really any better. Quote:I'm not reainstalling and starting all over again just to play on US servers. If no one in the UK/EU is playing on local servers then that's just too bad. If the game is more popular in the states then fine. But i'm not mucking around on the offchance it won't have lag problems (because it will).
Quote:Charming. I didn't say I didn't like the game. It seems that there are too many overly defensive people here who didn't bother to read what I wrote correctly. I made it clear that I would consider playign the game under the right circumstances. I didn't dismiss it all at all. My comments about the gameplayer are entirely valid and i expect peopel to respect them.<snip>
I understand that you are finishing out your trial, but unless you came here to have some of us help you find fun in the game - and are willing to try some of our suggestions - there's little purpose for you here except to troll.
Best of luck in your future endeavors, etc. etc., blah, blah, yada yada yada.... (insert standard buh-bye language here) -
I generally moosh together a couple of shelves front to back so that they occupy the same space to make thinner walls.
That's how I made walls for the upper story in this picture:

Quote:I'm very much in agreement with you on this, which is why I typically try very hard to refer to them as "Characters" or "Alts" (if I'm feeling a bit lazy). As is, by now, hopefully known in this game, and forum, I hate the term "toon". Toon is a Steve Jackson Games release, for tabletop roleplaying, not a Character, envisioned and played by me in any MMO. I never played a "toon" in D&D or any other tabletop game, with the exception of "Toon", and I've played pretty much any tabletop RPG you care to mention. Even my forum name on here is named after a tabletop/bluebook character from two seperate, yet coincidal (sp), games.
Back in the day, I also had Toon characters while playing the Steve Jackson game. Since they were part of a friend's Teenage Mutant Ninja Wombats campaign, they generally were characters such as Rocco the Rhino and Polly Possum or other such whimsy. They don't translate very well to this game, so the use of the term "Toon" is somewhat jarring.
To get back to the thread topic:
Quote:Regardless, no, I do not want, care, or need to get every badge on every character I make. I have two characters dedicated to badging, one blue and one red, and that's the only two I want every badge I can possibly get on.
I have ideas for certain characters where I desire one title or a certain accolade, but the thought of going through the same things repeatedly to get all the badges for every character I play on CoX is completly mind-numbing. -
Quote:I really don't need the badges on all my characters - I have over 60 running right now.Why the general lack of interest in events? Are they that old? don't you want to get the badges for all of your toons? If the events are that old then I imagine the missions are getting pretty stale for these people as well.
Some characters are better suited to some events and/or badges than others. I make sure all my ice characters get the Winter Event badges, especially "Cold Warrior". My characters based on 11 1/2 inch fashion dolls all get "Toy Collector". My Fire/Thermal Corruptor Scorching Wrath really, really needed the Supernatural Event badge "A Woman Scorned" due to her backstory.
But some characters have a lot of difficulty getting event badges, as you have discovered. Defenders and Controllers have difficulty with opening presents during the Winter Event, but are great on teams for Rikti or Zombie Invasions. My meleers rarely gather badges that require opening doors or presents at low levels because I hate to chase down the monsters.
So all-in-all, I have one main Hero and one main Villain for badge gathering. The other 60 or so may or may not have them, as the mood takes me. No one character is likely to have all the badges for their faction (let alone having no chance yet to get all those from the opposite faction).
And you will also find threads around discussing the fact that most events have gotten stale for many vets. The vets tend to build new stuff for each seasonal event based on the core from prior years, so those cores are now 4 years old or thereabouts (the first Winter and Halloween Events were pretty different from today's, although the giant monsters were reused). -
Quote:It's under a different tab in the badge menu, under "Events".Well, lately I've taken to not running from any events, I even try them with my low level toons, but like I said, I'm not seeing anything. Does the badge for defeating a certain number of Zombies not appear the way the others do?
Like I said above, with most "defeat" badges as soon as you defeat the first enemy that counts toward the badge that badge appears in the defeat category with a count listed telling you how many you've done. Is the badge for the zombies special, will it magically be awarded when I hit the right number? Is there something special I need to do, other than defeating a certain number, to get it?
You may want to page thru all those tabs, since there are different badges listed different places - then you can see if there are any you want to start working towards, or even if there are some you got you didn't know you had. (Don't laugh, I've missed Badge Award announcements when combat was hot and heavy.)
A low level character by himself will have a very hard time with the Zombie spawns. No dishonor in taking care of your regular business instead of stopping to fight them. -
Quote:OK, you seem to be determined to not like the game - so it's not for you. It's not the character or the low level that's the problem. I like the characters i've created. It's the fact the powers are largely samey and not terribly complimentary. There really is not much synergy and it's a little shallow. Folks have offered to try to help you find the "depth" you are seeking, but you don't seem to want our help.
One of the more frequent posters on this board plays from Bulgaria, and I haven't seen him report problems with his connection to the game (sorry if I'm putting words in your mouth, Samuel_Tow). But if you truly have connection problems with your particular ISP, then you will have problems no matter what on-line game you are trying to play.
Erm, regarding the highlighted line from your post above - at the levels you are playing in the trial, those different Dominator powers that trap the opponent do work differently, you just aren't seeing that for some reason.
Entangle - Immobilize your opponent, doing Smashing & Lethal damage over time. Single target, does damage, but only immobilizes, so the target can still attack you back.
Strangler - Hold your opponent, dealing damage over time. Your target can't do anything *at all*. Single target, use it for the foe that will likely give you the most trouble first.
Roots - Immobilize a group of foes, dealing damage (less than Entangle does, at least per foe). Like Entangle, except for multiple targets. They still get to attack you back.
So there are differences, which can affect your tactics against any given spawn.
As far as skills or talents goes, our Inventions system mainly replaces that. There are other games out there that have them, including the 800-pound gorilla in the MMO world, so perhaps they would be more to your taste.
And also, BTW, those Enhancements you are pooh-poohing right now become pretty powerful at higher levels. No one is uber when they start out - that would be a pretty boring game. -
My avatar here is my take on Bast, BTW.
<<<<
More animal parts for costumes would be nice - but can we have proportions done a bit better, please? For female characters, *all* of the animal heads are disproportionately small and really only approach looking right if all the sliders are maxed on the head.
On, and, Power - as far as the "beast" MM set goes - you may have been posting here long enough to know that making such a set requires making a whole set of new model skeletons that do not currently exist in game. That's why we do not fight wolves or see cats on the street. And it would be more than one skeleton, since a cat doesn't move the same way as a bear does, nor for that matter are a housecat and a lion and a puma all that similar. In order to be a successful powerset, how would you decide which animal skeletons to make? And how would you deal with requests for other animals? -
The defeat badges should be awarding any time there is an invasion - not just during the Halloween event. One of them also awards a costume piece (the pumpkin head).
The main purpose of these event is to gather the player characters in one area so that mass carnage ensues. The problem with this is that for right now, many players do not respond to the call and in fact, avoid the invasions entirely.
Note that you can avoid being affected by an invasion by going to a different zone or into a building, like a store, the train station or an instanced mission. IME, they don't spawn all that fast, so just running straight to your mission should allow you to avoid them if you want, meaning that the only missions affected are the "Hunt X" missions. -
Quote:This is kinda what I meant in my earlier post about the title of the thread not matching my definitions of "fantasy hair". I think these long flowing locks for guys, with the addition of long spiky (a la the Goblin King from Labyrinth - DumpleBerry's old avatar) and for females, some elaborate braided styles put up on the head and more long hair down the back with different textures (curly, etc.).When the OP started talking about Fantasy Hair, I didn't think Anime.
*shrug*
Getting them would be great (even if I can't bring myself to make a Male or Huge character because I can't stand watching them run from behind).
Animated hair on top of it would be bonus!
(as an aside - Yay! a picture of Sean Bean/Boromir!) -
I'm going to go against the flow a bit and suggest a Fire/Ice Blaster. Ice Manipulation offers a comfortable amount of mitigation and Fire Blast tends to kill them quickly (especially if you play at -1/X2-3).
And by playing a Blaster, you can stay a bit farther back from the mobs, for a hasty "withdrawal" if necessary. -
Quote:Don't we have some spiky hairstyles already, then? I know I have short spikes for my frosty corruptor, the Gamine and most of the "Long" styles seem to look very similar to what's in this picture. At least for females, it seems to me we already have a bunch of anime-esque styles (many of which were added quite some time ago). I don't make male characters, so I'm not as familiar with those styles - perhaps that's where OP is looking for more styles?Generally it's self supporting hair that looks like it should be full of holding gel but isn't.
Sometimes spiky sometimes raised.
I'm not trying to be snarky, just genuine puzzled since we have some already. What more is being requested? (Other than animated hair, which I tend to associate with Anime as well). -
Quote:For those of us who are not Anime buffs, can you give us some examples?I know there's a lot of anime buffs out there, that play this game and have wanted that crazy hair that fits your character. This is just an idea. Would it be possible? Seeing as people are really hoping for new costume pieces for going rogue. I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks.
This isn't really a criticism of you individually, but too many people assume that everyone has the exact same background and will immediately understand what is meant by a phhrase that is pretty self-evident to them - like "Fantasy Hair Costume Pieces". When I think of Fantasy, I do not immediately think of Anime, probably because I don't watch anime and don't particularly care for its style or some of the more typical story plots.
And, BTW, some of us have been campaigning for animated hair (a la Ghost Widow) since CoV came out - there are apparently some technical reasons why we don't involving multiple moving pieces being a "bad" thing. -
At level 5, go to either Kings Row (heroes) or Port Oakes (villains). You will get a contact popup (hero-detective, villains-petty criminal) who will give a method of getting randomized general non-story arc missions.
Do 3 of those missions, then you will be given a mission by the detective or petty criminal (Heroes - Safeguard, Villains - Mayhem) which instances in Atlas Park.
Successfully completing that mission gives you a jet pack with 2 hours of fuel. Many players can make theirs last until well after the regular travel powers are granted.
Doing another Safeguard or Mayhem between the levels of 10 - 15 (instanced in Kings Row) gives you a jump pack with 2 hours of fuel.
So there is a free in-game way to get travel (flight and super jump) at the lower levels you are requesting.
There are also purchasable jetpacks in a couple of zones (higher level ones, so be very careful getting there) as well as ones that can be purchased for real cash on the game's website.
P.S. Welcome to Paragon City/Rogue Isles!
