Yes they are on a 10 min timer. So if you get one to drop you wont for 10 min. But its team based. If you have 2 people killing and one gets a drop. He can still keep on killing and get a drop for the other team member.
-
You dont need howl or siren's song for PvP. Both are kinda fail. Id pick up some buffs so if you do team in a zone or what ever you can. Id also drop maneuvers. The buff it gives is so low when your not stacking it with anything. so thats 4 powers opened up. that sounds like 2 shields forge and the heal to me.

LoL.... Looks like they need a smack down and it to be frapsed and posted on the forums for people to laugh at them.

They were pretty close in i13. Now though, Sonic > Rad. For those arguing that Sonic is slow, the animation times for both powersets are nearly identical, the only difference is that Shout animates .5 secs slower than Cosmic Burst, good thing Shout is not the reason to go Sonic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pre i13 sonic was head and sholders above rad. Now that Rad does more damage than it used to its closer. Your right you dont go sonic for shout. You go sonic for stacked -res. My point is that you can fit in rad inbetween buff/heals/debuffs easyer and get more bang for the buck than sonic. You never really get the chance for a full attack chain if your doing your job as the therm on a team. You help out on spikes and what not. For builds where you have the time to stick an entire attack chain on a target sonic is better.
Also Animation times are close to the same. Root times are not the same. Sonic has a longer root period than rad. Also with stacking thaws and its 2 sec root time any little bit of help you can get is key to staying mobile and alive. -
A team build Therm has room for 3 powers from the primary. This is assuming You get phase and Power Boost, Leadership and Hybernoob or Shackles/Mu Pet/phase. The Hybernoob is more for PuG zone teams and 1v1s and PB/Phase would be more for the classic 2 healer teams. With the mu set up going for a sapper thing.
So it boils down to what do you want more. Scream/Shout/Amp or Xray/Cosmic/Aim. Rad can get more Damage Procs in the blasts from lady gray and the -res proc. That makes up for the tad less damage that rad has over sonic and can add -res for your patron hold to hit harder. For a busy set like therm I would lean to rad for quicker animating blasts so you dont get locked into a 3 sec Shout and miss a heal. Thaw allready takes 3 years to animate so keeping 3 forges out on a team with stacked thaws and shields along with melt armor on the target and HE on a problem toon that is not the current target, you wont have alot of time to spend 4-5 sec in 2 attacks. Add ~2 more sec if you use the patron hold too.
Dont get me wrong I LOVE sonic blast just not so much for a build thats not pure offense. For Cold/Rad/Storm/Kin I really like sonic. Rad blast I think would give more of what you want in your gaps between keeping the team alive.
Power Boost would clearly have more synergy with rad because the -Def would be affected and -Res is not. Not to mention Soul Storm is such a nice hold to set up spikes and help stalkers. PB+Aim+Soul Storm+Cosmic Burst=NICE
Hybernoob/Sharks would have my synergy with sonic so the already hard hitting sharks would hit harder after 15-30% -res
Shackles and the Pet dont offer any special kind of safety and are alot harder to use right in open zones because it works on the guy with HE on them and people tend to pop a few blues and run when that happens.
To sum it up I would lean to Rad/Therm/Soul with Rad/Therm/Leviathan being 2nd and Sonic/Therm/Leviathan trailing behind. But if you want to do 1v1 Arena then the sapper build would preform better. Of corse in team arena you would want PB/Phase, to keep your team alive and teams tend to be less PuGish in the arena. It all comes down to play style though. Hope I helped and dident just confuse the matter. -

Seems kinda weird to have 1 round for each level. So Its random chance who you fight on what lvl.

Fire is a great armor set. More so with tough if puts out some great numbers and has a +Damage power as well as a great self heal. The lack of a tier 9 is so so. I like fire more for the scrappers. If you look at the numbers invulnerably actually has equal numbers to all sets out of the tier 9 and actually has a tier 9. Along with a solid +HP and Heal power. Not as good as Healing Flames but still good. But it also makes for a tighter build because you need to take the auto powers. With fire you can get away with just taking the 2 armors and healing flames. (Fiery embrace is very important but not needed for survival.)

official was fought with no observers on.

That is a little weird. I understand practices being this so others can see the teams your running but an official. That is more than a little fishy. -

BTW that 10% elusivity, is crap and doesn't help a damn bit considering the loss of the defense percentages in my above comparison.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. It was too high now its too low. I have run into def builds that can be really hard to hit out side of the aim cycle. But when aim is poped its not the same case. Even PFF is kind not that good. With out aim I was having a 48% chance to hit last night. Sorry but 50/50 chance does not sound like a "Personal Force Field" not to mention that the people that can get PFF Cap at 20ish def in the zone. And that amounts to nothing. -

In the past, whether an attack was AoE or single-target was largely irrelevant because you were generally spiking only one person and in the majority of cases you'd never hit more than one person with that AoE. However I think the people behind these damage adjustments assumed that Fire Blasters were having their Tanker buddies herd villain teams into dumpsters, where the Blaster would AoE them to death.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bet tactic EVER. Like a year ago i did fight a tank on my fort that taunted me and went around a corner and dropped a ice patch. I died laughing as he faceplanted. -
The problem with those set bonuses is that unless your stacking with alot of def allready they are worthless. 5-9% is enough to make them have a 92% tohit chance not a 95% but if you have 30-40 def now thats when i can be usefull. More so with that 10% elucivity that comes with some shields and armors.

I love how the Archiving for the future thread is FULL of butthurt and "No we dident" "Yes you did" drama. Cant people ACTUALLY put the drama on the shelf for one thread and talk about how the high end PvP has evolved. Like lineups teams ran. Epic team battles. Things like that. Not "Hey our team team was the best but somthingorotherdrama stoped us from being so."

id vote for the sonic/cold corr. so fun. you can pick up hybernoob for a ghetto heal. is a solid 1v1 toon and not too shabby on small teams. i think the no phase thing could make the ice tanker kinda not as good as it used to be. i you want to run one go Ice/SS/Stone. you would have 3 ranged powers 2 hitting as hard as kb blow. and a nice quicksand on top. dont think it would take alot on inf for it to be a solid build.
-
dot or no they still hit like a truck. 3 damage procs and ticks of 30 or 40 depending on slotting. hope they dont scourge too. and with the 2nd tier attack from sonic thats 2 loldot powers ticking for 30ish.
they are just really really good powers is what i was saying. on paper and in practice they are heavy hitters. -

How are shark and dark holds broken?
[/ QUOTE ]
They hit like a tun of bricks, can have 3 damage procs, and Soul Storm makes you go through the knockdown animation with out suppressing knockback.
Its sad when your epic HOLD does more damage than anything in your primary. I'm not crying though I love the holds. For my team build I use phase/Soul Storm,PB and for my Zone build or 1v1 i use Leadership/Hybernoob. Great pools.
But I guess the same goes for hero side too. Stone mastery's hold hits for more than KB blow for tankers. Dominate does more damage than anything in /Psy for fenders. and Seismic Smash hits harder than anything a troler can put out in containment or not. -
I'll say I cry a little every time I play my Fire blast toons. Both blaster or Corr. I swiched to Psy and sonic and so much better. MY Sonic/Cold is a BLAST to play. Also now that Corrs can get Hybernoob or PB it makes a hard choice. Sharks and Soul Storm are such broken holds too. It is by far the most fun for me to play red side. My Grav/Elec dom being 2nd.
Blue side I have a blast on my Cold/Psy fender and Storm/Rad fender. with mind/ff being a fun 3rd if there is enough damage/buff/debuff on the team. -
Happy B day grae!!!
And Im still stalking you Ara.
Really? Your going to put those pants on and go out? -
Are you guys done? No word on our match yet. We would like to get word back one way or the other.
-
Buler? Buler? Buler? anybody? Buler?
Is it safe to say that RPvP is no more? Anyone from that crew have word? I have gotten no PM as to accepting the challenge. -
Im pretty sure that KB and KB protection both get DRed at the same rate. Testing is in order though.
