130 views and nothing? Yeesh...
At 30, I maxed slots in Leadership to slot a full set of Adjusted Targeting, then plugged one more into Defensive. -
Hard to say. In my experience, the problem is inconsistent.
I've had tip/morality missions where they've done fine, and paper/story missions where they've been buggy; and vice-versa. -
Personally, I'd take tactics first, then assault, then maneuvers.
With slotting in tactics, you can free up space in all of your pets that won't need as much Acc. Assault is a very welcome stack of damage that you'll notice immediately; and maneuvers is something you'll likely not notice until later - where those few extra points will do more for you.
Popular slotting in tactics is Adjusted Targeting.
Zombies should be slotted with 1 acc and all damage. It's all they're good for.
Grave Knights...About the same. If you're a fan of their knockup, toss something in for that too.
Lich is good to frankenslot towards whatever he does that you want to improve. Don't need damage on him, but he fears, holds, heals, and debuffs plenty. -
Quote:This is not true. The docile effect you guys are talking about only happens when you issue the Follow command. It can be Aggressive/Follow or Defensive/Follow; it doesn't matter. I actually like this effect. Let me give you a scenario:
At worst, you can say it happens when they are on defensive and they stop attacking mezzed mobs that are no longer attacking you as a result. -
Quote:Thugs (Gang War, leadership buffs). Zombies (pets with self-heals, lots of mez and -tohit). Demons (-res and Gang War-like power). Ninjas used to be good before I13, Bots is mediocre, and Mercs have always been bad.
Does that make Necro/DM a viable set for PvP? O_o -
I heard that Dark/Cold is pretty decent. Dark/Rad too to a lesser extent.
-
Alright...So following the pattern of one problem after another, I just have one question to ask, then.
Is there anyone that can currently access the test server? Anyone at all? -
Sorry if it sounds pissy. It's just that I've been trying on and off for the past couple of weeks to do this (as I want to explore builds and classes without grinding the levels and/or respecing), and literally every time I make an attempt...There's some problem.

Wrong game version, run patcher and reconnect, server 1850.201007290124.21T2, client 1850.201007290124.28T4
This is the error I get when I try to connect to training room, or training room 1.
Forgive me for being frustrated, but seriously. What the hell?
I've run the patcher multiple times, verified multiple times, outright redownloaded the test client even...and nothing. I haven't been able to access the test server since the last issues I was having with this. Is this common, or am I getting the short end of the stick here?
Should I even bother? Any help would be appreciated here. -
Quote:At higher difficulty, it's vital. There isn't usually enough time to 'respond' to someone that targets you directly (especially since it's inconsistent when you are targeted) before they thrash your HP in seconds flat.Unless you need the protection from bg, I would try having a command that sets some or all of your pets to passive mode to reduce any conflicts between the AI and your future commands.
Granted, I probably should just do lower difficulty if I'm walking that fine of a line to begin with, but still. -
I don't know about DS as I haven't worked with it much.
I only know this to be viable with a Bots/DM Tankermind build. -
Quote:Oh, worst for me is when one of the mobs runs away, and my pet goes chasing after them. By the time they actually respond, they've already charged dead into the next group.I've had the docile affect when using Defensive follow.
Caused me much faceplanting in my mayhem mission, what with the targeted ambushes...
I haven't seen too much of the other 2 problems though, but I tend to go into the middle of fights and let my pets take most of the aggro so I can heal them.
Quote:remember, Follow Defensive takes a few seconds to activate Bodyguard protection. Goto Defensive on the other hand activates Bodyguard straight away, and they begin responding to threats against you, straight away.
Thing is, the problem only started about a week or so ago after GR went live. I thought it was just me at first, but began to wonder. Just seeing if anyone else had this issue. -
Has anyone else faced some serious bugs with respect to how MM pet AI is working?
I found that I had to work down to +1/x2 when soloing because I can't really handle any higher when defensive follow essentially renders my pets docile (particularly at higher difficulty, mobs like to ignore my pets and target me directly - even when I take no personal action against them, so BG mode is essential).
Not only that, but I'm noticing seriously choppy response on other things, like attack commands that pets don't respond to (when I need them to focus, they only pause to respond then continue to attack their separate targets). Worse, I think is when I use the goto command and they literally just ignore it.
This isn't a lag thing, as this happens when things are running smoothly. Anyone else having problems? -
Depends. The problem with stamina for most MMs falls back to the toggles.
Running DM on +1 or +2s isn't all that bad between spamming Twilight Grasp, pitfall, and running Darkest Night.
Running all of those while you have 4/5 toggles running offset what little stamina recovery you DO have. So yeah...You can MM without stamina. You just need to make every skill count and hope nothing goes wrong.
Best way to put it:
You can do without it. But you'll never regret taking it. -
Actually, my Huntsman, Operative Nobel, will be going rogue to infiltrate Longbow along with a couple of others.
-
When I first open the test client and log in, I get the error 'This account is already logged on'. Never good news to start with, but a second attempt puts me through to server selection and character creation, which go through with no problem.
Then...When I hit the 'Enter Rogue Isles/Paragon' button, the game freezes, then I get kicked back to the login with the 'Lost Connection to DBServer' error.
The characters show up as 'blank' slots, 3886 days offline with 'Invalidinfo' when selected.
Thoughts, anyone? -
Alright, posting my Huntsman as well as random rambling thoughts. Ideally, oriented around team support, so I'd like any real thoughts on it and suggestions on where I should continue from here.
I took Frag Grenade to round off an AoE chain, and it works pretty nicely. Soloing at +1, WAWG > Venom > Frag > Heavy Burst > (Temp: Hand Grenade), leaves any given group mostly dead or just waitng for another heavy burst to polish them off. Though, honestly, I'm considering a different build for soloing (that includes cloak and the melee abilities) because taking hard targets at the moment requires alot of kiting, sometimes some health inspirations :/
I picked up Hasten at 28 to cut through the standing around I was doing at times, which works wonders...Though I chew through blue inspirations alot. Might need to slot more in stamina, I think.
At 30, I want to dip into the Leadership pools with Assault and Maneuvers. I'm not butthurt about lacking a travel power (thematic reasons), though I've considered Combat Jumping. Don't know.

No, no, I don't think you're showing off. I'm just frustrated, I don't mean to vent at you. Sorry for giving that impression. I'm not trying to blame you or anything, I'm sure the problem is with me, but I don't know where or how in particular.
I'm mulling over why this isn't working for me. I can't easily ID what I'm doing wrong here, or tell if lady fortune just thinks I'm the object of a scat fetish. -
Yeah, guess it's just beyond me then. Every time I try anything I hit one of the two snags mentioned before. Guess I'm just unlucky.
Seems lose-lose. I'm not listing to make insane profit or anything. I'd be happy enough just to cover the minimum cost in crafting, but I can't even get that sometimes. Might be looking at the wrong IO sets, probably.
Best part? I finally find a great deal to move on, and I get the "Black Market Cannot process your request, please try again later." Error. That's about time to give up on it, I think. Glad you can manage at least. -
So my guess is that you basically pulled this by quickly running a few 5-10m IOs during the end of the week/weekend?
-
I understand that for the most part. What gets me are a particular few situations that seem to be recurring.
- Item with market value of 20m, I list at 15m or less while sales continue for 20m, sometimes damn near 50m. What, is everyone selling at below 3/4 of the going rate and nobody is aware of it, or is there something else to this?
- I place an item for sale at well below (sometimes half) market price, then for some reason the average sales on the item plummet as if it's just somehow lost all worth.
Though, I suppose the most frustrating of it all is that relisting isn't cheap for expensive items that don't sell for what seem like outright silly reasons. The solution to the first would be to just bite the bullet on it and hope it takes, sure. Though with the second, I don't know what to say to it.
The sense that I'm 'failing' comes from having items that I invested alot into, that I can't seem to get rid off unless I literally just give them away.
Edit: Some of this might seem incredulous...I should post some screens, I think. -
I think I'm doing alot of this completely wrong...That, or the state of the market has changed in the past few months.
Could just be my bad luck, but items that run stable at 20m+ will suddenly drop to less than half of that the second I post an item at 15m, thinking I'm a smart guy by undercutting. Kinda feels like someone is waiting for me to invest in something before screwing me over at the last second...Even worse is when I see items consistently selling for more than what I've listed, while my listing just sits there until the prices fall low enough to put me further into the hole. Very fickle market, it seems.
Going to end up with alot of expensive crap I'd have to probably give away. It's...Discouraging. Don't know how some of you people pull millions in days by it. -
Ouch...Sounds pretty rough. It's looking like the only way I'd manage anything is if I push to 29/30, then exemplar down.
Even then, it's seeming like the only combo string is to web/venom, then burst and hope they phase.
I'm reading more about the PvP, and it's difficult not to run into much of the criticism compared to the previous issue. Looks like I'll might be skipping the zones on this guy then. -
I'm trying to figure out an optimal build for a Wolf Spider to run low-end PvP in. I am finding difficulty in squeezing in what I want to include stamina at level 20. I'm going to forego travel powers (sticking with swift/sprint, possibly combat jumping) and try to stick to what would help mostly in a fight. Either as support or in solo skirmishing.
Thoughts from PvP vets? -
Hmm...I'm wondering what a PvP-Centric build based off of this would look like? Particularly in the 15-20 range as it's just beginning.
Anyone with thoughts on a beginner build to work up on?
