Reason behind the 2 slots in charged Brawl is that as it is, I'm much more a ranged archer than a blapper
Figure that once I get Thunderstrike, the only melee attacks I'll use when I have to will be Thunder and Havoc, since those two really pack quite a punch.
If fly speed caps with 2 SO's in fly and one in swift tho, I'll definitely swap those slots around.
As for Rain, I think I'll start with only one Acc when I get it and see how it goes and if I need to add another acc in there.
Here's what the alternative build would look like :

What do you think ?
Usually teaming with an Illu / Empath troller, and rarely solo, PvE only.
And before you ask, I never ever use Electric Fence, if i could skip it, I would.
Taking PFF and the repulsion field purely as panic buttons, with FoN as the ultimate panic button or when I just want to show off and know I'm gonna faceplant in seconds if I try to rely on Defiance.
Also, taking Hasten that late purely because the recharge on Archery doesn't really need it imo, but always nice to have at some point I guess. Could fit it in earlier if I felt the need tho.
Swift / Hover / Fly are slotted so that I don't bang my head on a wall when trying to cross a zone
Last but not leas, taking hurdle because I quite frankly don't have a need for Health as a blaster, and that quite only leaves hurdle -
Suze will steal your money and buy babies with it !
-
On another note, as a brute you should slot your armors first, then your attacks, they're what will keep you alive.
-
Mea Culpa about brawl and boxing : Brawl is 4.34 and Boxing is 4.42.
I have it slotted with 1 Acc, 2 EndReds and 1 Rchg tho, which makes it cost 2.51 end with a rchg of 1.81, pretty nifty as an auto attack, works really nice to build up that fury quickly when you're not facing lots of mobs and can't rely on aggro -
Me ? Heh, no, was playing "wait for the people who have crashed to come back" last night, and wasn't even on Aerys
-
Ah, I did forget about Lightning Reflexes.
The 3rd recharge wouldn't hurt when facing -slow mobs though, Cryo Tanks anyone ? -
Heh, I remember my first toon at release, an NRG blaster (can't remember the secondary though, probably NRG as well) and putting Range enhancements in every power, and wondering why I kept getting killed all the time
-
You want 3 rchg in Rage , to make it perma.
Also, consider putting a 3rd dmg in KO Blow, I know a lot of brutes don't slot dmg at all on their attacks and rely purely on fury, but those are the same people that usually cry when you pull out a 900+ KO Blow with 3dmg + full fury on an AV.
That 3rd rchg on power sink isn't really needed either imo, it already comes back pretty damn fast.
I'd also say drop 2 heals in Health, and slot boxing a bit more so you can use it instead of auto brawl, it costs less end than brawl, and actually does dmg, for the same recharge time.
And overall I'd slot at least 2 dmg in each attack, but that's just me. Fury is all nice and well, but doing dmg with zero fury is nice too.
Last but not least, I'd prolly drop the dmg in lightning field and slot a taunt in it, but that's a matter of playstyle. -
Got to agree there, I tried out axe for a bit after posting this, and it's just way too small =/
Needs to be a huge battle axe -
Obviously talking about PvE yeah.
Beyondtrial, as you said, resist cap for a stone brute with tough is 91%. From personal experience and in comparison with my partner's Elec brute, Granite *is* as close to invincible as you'll get. Power surge for instance doesn't even come close.
I'd like to see for myself a granite properly slotted get one shotted by a mob, even in the LRSF, because as it stands right now, I don't believe it for a second.
I'll say it again, in PvE, 90% of the time you don't need a single heal other than Earth's Embrace as a Granite. Hell, last time I duo'd an AV, I didn't even *use* Earth's Embrace. Unless it's a psi mob, the dmg is laughable.
Anyway, what was the original topic here ? -
I basically took chelsea's build, and changed it a bit to my liking
The toon is 14 atm, I like it, but atm CoH is taking up much of my time with my shiny new Archery / Elec blaster
Still need to level Mountain tho, he needs 50 and I got lots of AV's and Heroes to smash. -
BLUE lightning field ! (even if I'm not taking it)
-
It looks much much better tho, and for me that's about 50% of a power set's worth
Liking a lot so far. -
Nevermind, rerolled again, switched to another secondary
-
Swift instead of Health : actually thought of that after posting the build
Snap Shot : I was thinking of speccing out it at the first respec
Regarding BU, as I said, the order in which the powers are listed here don't reflect when I'm actually gonna take them.
Playstyle wise, I don't want a blapper, wanna focus on ranged attacks with a mix of ST / AoE, and TF any stupid mob who somehow gets too close -
Note that I'm a total noob hero wise, don't plan to PvP or solo much and the order in which the powers are listed doesn't mean much : I'll take what I feel I need when I level but plan to eventually have all the powers listed below. Slotting should be accurate too.

Hey dragon, I'm on right now on a hero, will be on for some time tonight, you can catch me @Aerys
-
Heya peeps,
Would need to transfer a couple millions from villains to heroes, if you can help out, pls look for @Aerys in game -
I'm gonna start playing heroes pretty soon and intend to try a tanker, probably Ice/*
I haven't decided on the secondary yet, and was wondering about Battle Axe. I've taken a quick look at the US boards and here, but it doesn't seem overly popular, even less than war mace, how so ? Is it really that bad ?
Also wondering how it would work with Ice primary.
Edit : forgot to add, PvE only -
Taking Taunt on my brute purely for LRSF, otherwise you don't really need it if you have your aura on.

people playing MM's with no pets or Brutes who only heal people.

Oh-Oh, new concept idea, must roll a new toon tonight ! -

Granite: now this can be widely discussed since it can be slotted so differently, MY opinion is first of all that you need End Reduce in it, it costs quite a bit to have running. on my tank i have Granite slotted 2end 2def 2res atm and that is great (i also have stoneskin with 3res stacking)
[/ QUOTE ]
I have mine slotted 3 def / 3 res, and never had any end problems with it.
According to hero builder Granite is at 0.26 EPS, which really isn't that much, especially considering that while in granite you attack less (-slow), and thus use less end.
With all being said, I wouldn't recommend elec/stone btw, your attack speed in granite will make you cry unless you slot them really nicely.
