I place the going rate. Hmm, no sale. So i bid higher. No sale. I almost had to double the last 5 to get it. WHY? Because someone wasn't happy with the last 5 sold and wanted more. To get it, i had to pay it because there wasn't any more.... Greed goes to the seller....
You were greedy for your IO and your time. You got your time and your IO. You traded inf for those two things. Otherwise you could have waited and gotten a different price or bought something else if you hadn't been so greedy for your time and your IO.
  2. 'fonly you were on Freedom.

That's one of my favorite SFs.
I think I have done the Tarikoss SF more than 1000 times, but with multiple toons. But I have done the Silver Mantis prob'ly 100 to 200 hundred times but with the same, single toon.

Alas, I only have real toons on Freedom

Yeah, if you're greedy you might buy something besides purples and then sell them to buy purples.

People in this game are constantly lusting after wealth and power. It's sad, sad sad, and immoral.

    Libido dominandi indeed.

If only people would just be happy with SOs. Then the market would be fixed.

Instead they lust after power so strongly that they become convinced They need more and more and more power.

    They want the Ultimate Power!
And to gain the Ultimate Power you must pay the Ultimate Price. Er...uh...I mean you should only have to pay Costco discount prices to gain the Ultimate Power. Even though there are thousands of people competing for Ultimate Power we shouldn't have to pay like we were competing for Ultimate Power against thousands of others. We should be able pay discount prices like we were buying toilet paper in bulk.

I think that may be the block that some have about the Market--they don't remember that it's a competition for goods.

Wanting to make a fat stack of inf has not 1 thing to do with greed. Just like being poor in game wouldn't be considered being ungreedy. It can be done for less than 40mil. Perhaps it can't be done the way that people who're greedy for IO sets would like to so it, but it can be done.

    Demand is greed.
The game can be played and enjoyed with SOs. I know because I have done it and do it.

IO sets are only desired by the greedy.

If the greedy want to make money off one another who am I to stand in their way?
  8. Idk that people don't play it.

I don't play SS because I don't like the rage crash. But lot's of people play invuln and SS.

How's the 2bil price cap working so far?
Even though they ostensibly have "no reason" to do so, people to come to the forums and advertise their wares for over cap.
Is it that they don't realize that there's no reason to do so?
Or is it that they DO have a reason to do so that you don't acknowledge?

    I depend on this.

Just to assure that I am the one getting the sale, when I set things for sale, I list them at prices that might well cost me money if they were actually bought at that price. But, almost always, they sell for the next bump up and then I profit--almost always. Sometimes someone will bid creep in small enough increments that I lose a little here and there.

If sets were easier to acquire and craft at lower levels, or if we had to spend more time at lower levels then the debt protection would be more useful.
But finding and crafting lower level recipes can be a real pita. And why bother with a pita @ lvl 25 when you'll be 50 by the end of the week?

I find this claim hard to believe. It just doesn't at all jibe with my in-game experience. I think that at least half of the sets cost less than 166,666,667 per enhancement.

One can always pay the flipper's price+1. Flippers buy as cheaply as they can get away with. What's one more inf?

...the recommended gasoline for most cars is regular octane. In fact, in most cases, using a higher octane gasoline than your owner's manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won't make your car perform better, go faster, get better mileage or run cleaner. Your best bet: listen to your owner's manual.

The only time you might need to switch to a higher octane level is if your car engine knocks when you use the recommended fuel. This happens to a small percentage of cars.

Unless your engine is knocking, buying higher octane gasoline is a waste of money...
    http://www.cartalk.com/content/colum...August/03.html
Ray: And remember, all the octane rating tells you is how much knock protection you get. A higher-than-necessary octane rating doesn't keep your engine cleaner, make the car go any faster, make your engine last longer or keep your hairline from receding. It just costs more. So use only the octane required by your manufacturer to prevent knock, and no more.
Usually, it's older cars that start to knock. That's why I wondered.

Amen, brother. You and every marketeer who wants to make more money than they do now.
  20. Probably one of the first things I would do is add a multiplier to the inf exchange formula. For everyone but me, the multiplier would remain 1. But for me, the multiplier would be variable. If I was buying, then the amount of inf I bid would be multiplied by a number greater than 1 with the difference being automagically generated by the server. If I was selling, then the amount of inf I received would also be multiplied by a number greater than 1 with the difference being automagically generated by teh server.
This multiplier could randomly range from say 1.1 to 11.

This would make for a much nicer balance of me vs the rest of the world.

    Very strange!

When I went into my base, a number of arcane items were missing some colors. The result was that they looked like they had a very bright light shining on them or they ended up white instead of their normal colors.
    I blame today's patch.
