I do like the fanboy/girl idea from Havoc Fang
Just as a warning to all though: Anything we come up with will have been done before (as a starting idea) - maybe not exactly but just to point it out as something which is inevitable and therefore we can conceivably discard as it being wrong... ohmigosh I've lost the power of coherent typing *dribbles*. Sorry, it's this extra-strength flu medicine I'm on.
Anyway, if someone with a much better grasp of what I'm trying to convey would like to convey it betterly (!) then please do.

Or a black-and-white horror movie - Particpants are sent fancy invitations to meet, intitially, in a castle or some other standard of the horror genre.
The marks, obviously, would not be present - perhaps the group or person responsible for organising this has a dislike of the marks (for some fudgetastically linked reason) and would like to see their lives made more difficult?
Or, perhaps, said organisation/person is merely looking to pit people against each other and this could continue as an 'excercise' until the 'plot' develops further and we realise why all this stuff is important?
Just a few ideas.
As for the 'protagonist' - my vote goes for a Truman Capote-esque character from the cult flick 'Murder By Death' . -
I'm not sure if I qualify anymore...
I have a new character, Ms Adams, who would love to do this sort of thing.
I suppose Arctic Princess might be able to offer something... but what? Ah, I know - a pair of piston boots - her original method for travelling around.
She lives in Steel Canyon now, so could have some fun chasing people over rooftops.
PM me if necessary (on here) and I'll start using Messenger again, if I must. -
Can I join??
I already have. We're also currently trying to set up links with other groups via coalition, plus getting 'established' within Villain roleplay.
If you 'see' Ms Adams flying about then be sure to say hello - she;s friendly enough. -
Right, so that's 3 of us.
Looking now for that elusive fourth member - contact me @Bonechiller, my second account, if interested.
I'll check here tomorrow morning - perhaps we could arrange to do the Trial either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning? -
Right - current line-up is:
Hatesman - lv 26 Elec/Elec Brute
Ms Adams - lv 31 Dark/Ninjitsu Stalker
I reckon, as per Hatesman, that either 2 Corruptors or a Corruptor and a Dominator should do it.
Also, I think I'd be able to do either tomorrow night (28th) or Saturday (any time). I'll resist the urge to level Ms Adams anymore (she's not far off 32).
Do Respec Trials follow the rule that mobs will be at the highest level of the team (i.e. they;d be 31 in my case) - or would they only be as high as the team leader's level? It's been such a long time that I have no idea. -
Dear all,
I'm hoping to do the First Villain Respec Trial at some point in the next couple of days and would like it very much if others were to join me, being a lowly Stalker as I am:
Ms Adams - lv 30 Dark/Ninjitsu Stalker
I want it to be as friendly and easy as possible, as it's been 18 months since I did the last Villains respec and I seem to remember the horror of Succubi cropping up. Consequently if we could keep the team to the bare minimum (4?) then that'd be great.
I'm quite happy to do the Respec with whatever combination of ATs people think is best as I'm certainly no expert on Villains. However, needless to say it will be on the Villainous setting and some debuffing and/or confusion protection will be welcome.
I look forward to hearing from you

I teamed successfully last night with another Stalker and an Energy Blast Corruptor:
Usually, because I've been playing a lot of Heroes lately, I get a little edgy around Energy Blast. It knocks things out of your way and slows down the Scrapper/Tanker flow - or at least it has in my experience on more than one occasion.
With a Stalker though, it's almost perfect. Mobs are pushed away giving the team time to regroup, rehide, recover and ready themselves to fight again. Also being a Ninjitsu Stalker who refuses, point blank, to take Acrobatics, it stops nasty knockback mobs from getting too close a lot of the time.
So, I guess, 2 Stalkers, and Energy Blaster and a /Energy Assault Dom would be perfect -
I'd like to add that, for certain melee powers (Dark mainly) I believe it's best to limit choices on your Primary pool and focus on your Secondary more.
I've also taken Air Superiority which provides some soft but very effective control against tougher enemies due to the knockdown element - also it stops those darned Wyvern, Longbow and Sky Raiders from flying off with its -Fly.
Great guide -
Energy blasts have an aquatic feel to them and Gravity Control - well, that pretty much lends itself to the underwater pressure thing.
Force Fields, Empathy, Psi Blasts, Radiation Blasts, Storm Summoning and Ice also can have an aquatic feel.
And if you need a villainous arch-nemesis, then just power level any villain with suitable powers and choose Mako's Patron pool - Electric Brutes may find underwater problematic - although an Electric Eel style character... hmmm *runs off to consider this* -
PPD Officer: So this woman claims she's from an organisation called 'Tempest' ?
Woman: Yes, officer. I tell you it's those damned capes at it again.
PPD Officer: Ma'am, what exactly was stolen?

It is a Scrapper problem at the moment IMO. Basically, Spines and DM apart all the scrapper primaries do lethal damage, which is highly resisted in the later game.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is worth mentioning, however, that The Carnival of Shadows are weak against Lethal damage, as are some of the Devouring Earth minions. In fact, some of the nastier Devouring Earth minions (and up) find Smashing damage to be a problem.
It's all a matter of balance. As a Scrapper, the utility of the role is to hit things repeatedly until they fall down. Also, running into mobs screaming. I find it fun and exhilarating.
If I want to do exciting things with Fire and risk losing my neck then I'll play a Blaster; whose burst damage just might let them live to see another day.
We may not get 'super' element powers but we do get a fast attack rate. I would like to add here though that Scrappers need love in the 'Epic' department. I cannot remember who suggested the set before, but Sonic Mastery sounds like a scream... ahem! -
Hello,
I've been playing an /Invulnerability Scrapper and, well, he's very good at wading in. He's Claws/Invulnerability so he may not be the biggest damage dealer but he can survive a good while (including solo) and has a few ranged attacks which I've found mighty useful in teams.
However, will I need the 'extra' powers (Resist Energies and Resist Elements) as I heard someplace that Invulnerability really shines in the defence department.
If the answer is yes then is it worth three-slotting those powers?
Also, whilst you're there (by you I mean anyone who can be bothered to reply), are there any snippets of advice on slotting and using the Inventions system to increase survivability? -

Yes but a Controller / Defender with Empathy wouldn't be taking any aggro from any enemies to become Mezzed as they'd be more concentrated on keeping the team alive with heals and buffs. Also, a Kin would be best keeping SB and FS up rather than checking if people are Mezzed or not, but that's just my opinion. Thanks for the reply, Unthing. I think I'll just skip it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't forget mezzers who use AoE or Cone Effect mez powers (Madness Mages and Anathemas spring to mind here). Although the defender may not be attacking, they still might be in mez range.
Equally useful against Freak tanks (that darned AoE grenade attack and it's knockback) - the same goes for Council Assault lieutenants and bosses.
Also, don't forget Kheldians, especially if teaming without a controller to boost their mez resist. Any form of mez protection for Kheldians is useful and, considering you're a Kin/ or /Kin, their damage should be hitting the cap much sooner than with most other defenders. If they're mezzed then that ain't happening. -
Hello,
Just a quick discussion post really re: Dark/Psy. Has anyone got one> If so, how do they play post 14?
Also, does psychic blast coupled with resistance debuff from Tar Patch make an effective 'offender'.
Plus, if anyone has anyt slotting advice for Darkest Night, then please feel free to comment.
Don;t ask for much, do I?! -
Hello, thought this would be the best place to request the whereabouts of the chatlog chomping machine (i.e. you put in the chat log, it cuts off all extraneous parts, and you're left with a shiny and much more edible piece of chat)
I forget the name (as evidenced by my numeorus attempts at searching across the General Discussion and Roleplaying forums using the words 'chat' 'chatlog' 'logs' and 'parser'.
Thanks in advance. -
Another possible explanation is that the girl/woman can simply bind spirits or ghosts to her - there's no 'magic' involved but she has always had this ability.
You can then explore this further should you ever want to and, like others have said, the origin then becomes irrelevant. -
Arctic Princess - Natural Scrapper - played by the most beautiful woman in the World, Cate Blanchett
I think the old Belarus Flag avatar needs an update -
Right,
I cannot complete the Statesman TF. I feel a bit poo about this as others seem to be sailing through it (well, you know what I mean). I only want to complete it the one time to get the badges and that feeling of elation.
Arctic Princess is a lv 50 Katana / Super Reflexes / Dark Mastery (Torrent/Petrifying Gaze/Tenebrous Tentacles) scrapper. I've so far attempted the TF twice with a decent couple of teams. Ghost Widow cheats !
So, I need to find a team who either have completed it already or know what is needed.
I won't start the rant about having to have certain powers to finish as, well, it's not worth it. I just wanna claim to the rest of the World that I can 'Save the Day'.
So, PM me in-game, on here or post replies. Cheers in advance. -
AP should be getting all political and mysterious - plus she's experienced army combat before and is a little more hardened (although not an actual 'conflict' - just lots of simulations and excercises...)
There are also a number of heroes that she is interested in - a lot of this is to do with what they are capable of. The same goes for the 'villains' who, let's face it, aren;t so different from a lot of heroes.
It should certainly be an interesting World event, if not all that handy in trying to get on with life 'afterwards'.
**Almost forgot!**
The Workers' base is a converted bunker used during the Rikti War... Me smell plottage potential -
Well rather than discussing what should go in and what shouldn't... has anyone attempted a construction of a time line yet?
I know that people can get excited about various plots and things being included but I think it would be a good gesture to try it. I must admit, I've never understood certain characters 'not being involved at all/not acknowledging a plot' - perhaps someone could explain this to me? But I do like the idea of a Paragon City Union Roleplay Universe timeline thingy being there to look at. It could help either newer players or older ones to come up with some varied backstories to integrate into the World and 'fill in the gaps' as it were.
It might even help with future plot generation - in short, I personally believe that the bigger the range of material there is out there for people to look at as a whole, regardless of opinions on whether anything should be regarded as 'canon' or whatnot, can only hope to fuel the important aspect of roleplay: imagination. -
Just a little discussion really about Dark Mastery. After opting for Body Mastery and getting to 50 with all 4 powers I have found that with I9 there was no scope for anything interesting to slot in my Epics.
My scrapper is Kat/SR so Super Reflexes in itself is a nightmare to slot. Dark Mastery just seems to be superior in all sorts of ways (a Hold and a cone Immob) to the others. I'd like to know thoughts and, as a side bit, how people are finding ways of making SR more interesting with Inventions.
