Explain this....?
The thing about the Natural origin is that it only has to be natural for HER. Perhaps she looks human, maybe even thinks she is human, but is actually another species for whom these talents/powers/skills are entirely natural?
For example, Superman looks human, even still manages to pass as human when he needs to, but has truly super-human powers. His origin? Natural. All his powers come his natural Kryptonian physiology making them possible. Not a scientific accident, not some technological wonder, not a magical artifact and not a random genetic mutation. Natural all the way!

Yes. Just define her nature to include those powers and she is of natural origin.
My character has been in extensive interaction with two characters who display amazing abilities but are natural origin. One is inherently good by nature and gains her 'powers' through that goodness. It all is built inside her. The other has the natural power to affect small quantum states in a manner that bullets won't hit her just because she does not want them to. In a way she defines the universe around her but it affects only such small personal events that it does not break anything for other characters. Some might call it magic, as well. Depends on your point of view.
Your character's nature could be that she abhors attacks directed at her and through quantum states redirects those attacks against other attackers. Same principle could apply to healing.
Natural can be a very flexible origin and as others have said, it only has to be natural for her. Origins can often blur and I find that once you get used to a character they don't matter any more. I have a character who started as a 'mutant', found out that there was 'magic' in the family which runs in her blood which could in turn make her 'natural'. So in the end it doesn't really matter that much. Characters will develop over time and outgrow the mechanics that the game forces on them. Perhaps your illusionist started as a stage magician and then discovered 'real' magic or developed advanced technology to help her?
Sometimes little things like that can bug a person. I sometimes look at the names of some of my characters and wish I'd chosen differently. Unfortunately, as with origin, there is no way other than a reroll.

Well, for Illu/Empath I would most certainly choose the non-human route as other 'natural' explanations for most powers from those sets might be quite a stretch.
As others suggested he could even be completely ignorant about his extraterrestial or extradimensional nature, raised in an orphanage or by superman-style 'parents'.
Then, at some point, he may have discovered his superhuman powers of the mind. (Could very well be while working as an assistant to a stage magician. Should have had quite an impact on the show. )
It could even be that he still doesn't know that he is no human and thinks his powers are magic or something like that. I sense some nice story hooks there...
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
I had a similiar problem with my natural Ice/Axe tanker. As Pistol make her natural origin scrapper i wanted to go with natural origin but also i want her to reflect water origin in her.
Suddenly i came up with that idea. She has a symbiote in her body. An alien creature which came earth with a meteor. As this alien creature (some small creature like centipede at the size of a sparrow) can't breath earth atmosphere it hosted the body of a human girl. This creature have a natural talent of making ice cocoon when in danger. While our heroine faced a fire in a museum, ice armor covered her body for the first time. Then she grabbed an axe from the wall and make her way out by breaking the door.
As she can't fit other origins i made her Natural with no worries.
I hope this will give you some ideas.
Cheers
That's a nice example of a good 'natural' backstory there... although I don't know if there is any sexual innuendo concerning the part about the alien centipede inside the girl...

Same reason Peacebringers are Natural
My main is a mage, so naturally, Magic origin... and Natural (Peacebringer too, no choice to origin) .. and Magic again (yes, three avatars, one character)
The only really 'irksomeness' for me is the Enhancements used... I never really liked that Science uses all sorts of radiation... as if that's all science does.
Anyway, not very helpful, but still...

Whatta nasty thoughts. I never thought something like that. Actually i was thinking something living attached to her spine under the skin. If you take a close look you can see that thing moving before ice covering her body.
I'll throw in another suggestion. Your character could be a Derren Brown-style illusionist. The illusions you create are a result of your ability to plant suggestions and make people believe what they see to such an extent they are convinced they are actually being physically hurt and their body responds accordingly.
The empathy power could also be covered by this, a faith healer-type ability to make people block out pain, tap in to unused strength or clear their mind of distractions.
What seems like magic is your well-trained ability at "psychological illusion, perceptual manipulation and persuasive technique".

Faith healer? TV evangelist? I love that idea!
Of course, it would have to be pretty darn charismatic personality, and requires very good RPing (something I wouldnt dare to try, for example). But as a concept, brilliant!

Thank you for all your ideas and help on this....actually really helped. Was stuck in idea that natural meant normal human, but you're right guess it just can mean the powers are inherently natural as opposed to triggered by something magical or technology or whatever...
Romanov - you hit on the nail what i was originally thinking along lines of before got hung up on whether someone could actually become that skilled in so called mind-tricks. But quite happy can develop this now.
Think I've also got a great little story worked up for how the whole thing comes up during one of their shows Sitriel, great idea!
Thanks all! Off to sharpen my pencil now
Another possible explanation is that the girl/woman can simply bind spirits or ghosts to her - there's no 'magic' involved but she has always had this ability.
You can then explore this further should you ever want to and, like others have said, the origin then becomes irrelevant.

I like that idea. Like Ghost Whisperer.
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.
Hi,
I have a problem at the moment with one of my heroes and trying to work out a back story. Basically she is an Illusion/Empath, but for origin I selected Natural.
(mainly cause its the only one i hadn't selected yet, so chose it off the cuff)
But now trying to think up a plausible "natural" back story that explains how I can turn people on each other or heal wounds just doesn't seem to work.
My finger is hovering over the delete button and thinking of starting again on this toon. If it doesn't feel right, can't get into the role right....?
Anyway, wondered how other people may have overcome this with their characters or in fact if anyone had any bright ideas on how this could work.
I got as far as writing a bio which involved her working as some sort of assistant to a magician/entertainer in the Darren Brown like vein, as some of the stuff he can do is pretty close to almost "power-like" but getting that off broadway and into hero life, can't quite make the leap without feeling some sort of magical/scientific etc nudge is required?
Anyway.....ideas??
