Vanguard, well, I think they're overpowered for a group that is supposed to be attached to the UN (Oddly enough, I think controllers are the best AT in general to solo Vanguard).
Vanguard are meant to be fighting Rikti, with their state of the art armour and weakness to magic. Ergo, the weapons they use cut up armour like it's tinfoil (-res) and they use magic. It fits thematically, and makes for a change of pace gamewise.

Cimerorans, on the other frakking hand...! I mean, come on, these are people with standard swords and shields and spears. They are HORRIBLE to fight solo, I tellya. I still remember the nasty shock I got the first time I stunned the medic first, cut up the healer, was moving onto the last standard guy and the healer REZZED the damn engineer...I know they are meant to be mid-end game mobs, but I find them worse than Rikti. At least you expect high-tech aliens to pack a punch...

And Pum, Ouch. I know how much of a pain multiple respecs can be (My invul tank, and first character. Most bodged build ever, until recently)

    3) Give a merit bonus to the Lady Grey TF.

The Costume piece prices are ludicrous. Seriously, when the drop rates are that low...
I was lucky enough to equip my Colonel after a few well-run ship raids. But its still a heck of an annoying grind...

Why this procedure is necessary every time we add or remove something from an enhancement storage bin or inspiration bin or salvage rack I can't understand.
It is, afaik. The base runs through a re-draw.

Although why this is necessary for salvage? Noooo idea.
I really hate havinf the redraw during base edit too, although that at least has a reason. Id prefer to have an option for the game to ONLY render the room you are in FOR YOU at any time during editing. Given that on slower computers (laptop...) it makes base editing, at certain points, incredibyl incredibly slow.

  10. Sword/Shield scrapper can kick out some impressive AoE damage, Charge, Whirling sword and then the cone. All boosted by the +dam aura (god I fail at names today)

Fire/Fire is also a destructive piece of kit, I have to say. At range or melee.

Yup. Exactly the sort of thing =P

OT, Teams have been easier to find, or at least I have found. This is on both sides, Union EU side. Although not as much red side, but then again I mostly team with friends and SG on redside anyway, so thats nothing new. Blueside has been much more fun, what with taking people down to the Hollows to resume wailing on Frostfire that sucka had it comin!

That...might well be possible. Given I tend to not be focussed too much on mezzes when on my tank, and more about aggroing everything in range, while chuckling at all the 'dodge, dodge, miss' ticking by from the angry mob ^^

Im fairly sure that Immobs, when used on stuff with Mez protection, do nevertheless give slow. Maybe if stacked.

I think that some kind of mez protection would be good for the squishies, but also that mez protection itself is kind of broken.

It is too binary in many ways. Either you are held, or you are free, there is nothing in between. There should be a finer gradation in the mez system that would make mezzing and being mezzed more sensible.

For instance, immobs should have an irresistible movement slow component built in such that stacking them can actually do something to the mobs and individuals who have mez protection. The only thing that could counter the effect stacking should be slow resistance.

Holds should factor in a attack rate slow and movement slow stacking factor before being held completely.

Stuns should have a slight movement and turning rate penalty as well as an attack rate and slight recov and regen penalty before being fully stunned.

This would mean that granting mez protection for squishies would still give a penalty to being mezzed, it just wouldn't be so binary in form. Also, non squishies would have to worry about mezzes piling up versus shrugging them off completely.

As well, the whole knockdown, knockback and knockup system is borked to begin with. It should be separated so that extreme knockdown shouldn't be turned into knockback, and powers like ice patch and ice slick could actually make a difference against foes, even ones with knockback resistance etc.

Slows are about the only thing that I can see as having a graded system that stacks sensibly.

Of course, the other side to this type of equation is that when was the last time you saw the devs give something away for free? I'd rather they left well enough alone, since it's not THAT broken. The last time my favorite AT got 'looked at', I needed 5 respecs just to pull my toon apart to reconfigure everything.
5? Seriously, which character and AT was that? Oo

And, actually, your not quite right. Immobs DO have a universal slow element. When playing a tanker, in fact any AT that has resistance/protection from mez, Immobs STILL cause slow and, in some cases, -jump and -fly effects.

I do agree, however, that the Knock-trio should be looked at. NOT changed stupidly, I LIKE Knockback and the other two. But seperate Knockdown from Knockback. While it can be humourous punching my enemies a mile when they are grey con on my SS Brute, it's less fun when you run into slightly less resilient/conning mobs and send them scattering with each hit, making your job/hitting a lot harder.

Also, it seems I now get -repped for even mentioning rep. If my opinion is that offensive, you could actually comment on it, rather than random and still anonymous -repping. -eyeroll-
  16. Take a man, take away everything that makes him a man, and what are you left with?

Mankind is what it is. We don't KNOW if there is a God, or Gods, or spirits or some pre-ordaned purpose. We can't prove it, no matter what anyone might say.
Is there right? Is there wrong?
I'd say no. The universe doesn't care what we do. Right and wrong are ideals made by men, good and bad are man-made ideals. And the 'Bad' will always be the ones who are on the other side of the argument, on both sides.

Morality is man-made, possibly even sanity.
A bit of a depressing thought, maybe. But it helps to remember that, whatever else, it is what we do that defines us.

2 slots with Res IO in all of them, def in Tough hide. If you have slots to spare, triple 'em for a few bonuses, or for slotting Impervium armour +Psi res.
I also find that the Res/Def IO from Steadfast goes great in Resist Physical Damage. Stacks nicely on with Tough Hiden and Invincibility.

In essence, a game like this is where y'can explore things you dont agree with in real life, you can be the 'good guy', the 'bad guy' or anything inbetween. And yes, you can fly, throw fireballs and generally look and act cooler than possible in real life

"So it's fine for Eisregen to crow about his attack on another person, but criticizing that attack and suddenly we're wildly careening off-topic?"

No. Im saying the whole thread seems to have gone off topic.
At least the comment was cohegent and made a point.

Since we are discussing this sort of thing, I'll add my tuppence worth. There's a difference between violence for violence sake (The sort a number of Brit kids in cities seem to break onto the new with fairly frequently) and violence for a reason.

Now, people since time immemorial have used 'for a reason' to their own ends. 'Because I can' fits into violence for violence sake. The two big ones are causing a war in the middle and further-East to this day, which Im going to leave alone but niether of which I agree with.
It's extreme, but the 'Batman' style justice, which Bill Z mentions, is the point where the system is broken, theres not a snowballs chance in hell of things going right unless you fight for them. If the bike rider, using an example that has gone before, had run down my fiance, for example, they'd be looking at GBH for free. The same if someone tried to rob my flat while I was in it.

I could go on, but this is really a philisophical debate, and there really is no right and wrong. It's also immensely thin ice, which I'd rather not walk on while still intact.

So, apologies if I did offend anyone with the 'Offtopic' post, it wasnt aimed at one person. I shoulda put QR to show in general -shrug-
