Quote:Ah, noted. Two lieutenants and a minion (provided they're even con) isn't actually new, or indeed rare. It's one of the three or so setups the old Level 2 and 4 difficulty settings would spawn even con enemies at, and in my experience, it wasn't rare to see that. Now if you see that setup at +1 to your mission difficulty, then that is incorrect, because such wouldn't spawn unless you had at least three, maybe four people on the team, or were "equal" to as many.
-Sigh- If only I had paid attention to all those mobs over the years, rather than steamrollering them/blasting them into pulp. I might not be so ignorant! Oh woe is me!

Updating: Targetting parameters
Engaging: Hurt.exe
All units: Roll out! -
This is all personally, btw, just things I have found useful.
Skip over Seeker drones. Your Protector bots get them later on anway, effectively for free.
Whatever you do, get the minion powers asap. You can also, if you want, skip over all the attack powers. I didnt myself (I like shooting things) but your minions pour out so much firepower in the end that you can get away with it.
Bots at lvl 1
Upgrade at lvl 6
Protectors at lvl 12
Assault bot at 26, upgrade at 32.
Traps wise, acid mortar and FF gen are both exceedingly useful bits of kit. Triage beacon is only more useful on teams, bots tend to run around a bit too much (as do all MM pets) and get punted around a bit. Has its uses though.
Trip mine and Poison trap, get 'em both. Those things used in concert are lethal.
For travel, I can reccomend hover/fly. Useful for keeping out of range while your bots blast stuff. And, if you wind up with spare gaps at the end, group fly with bots gives the jets. Very cool looking, and useful for dropping them on people

Quote:Godsdamn you people and your jammy as hell purple drops! And drops of the sort that are actually needed, not some random guff that only sells if it's crafted! >_<I got two purples last night on my brute during about 8 paper missions set for +1/x8. The rest was garbage, but it was the right AMOUNT of garbage!

I kill you while you sleep...all of you...in your organic, carbon-based dreams...

Quote:Ah, but behind all the goodness you have a supperating well of scum, villany and inter-continental and galactic filthThe Internet is (so far, mostly) on the heroes' side. Once we deal with Crey she can devote all her time to making sure everything good is available for download, making both Radio and Television obsolete.

Thats what the internet is FOR, right? -
Quote:Worse? Gods...I didn't think that was possible...Aside from animated tails and a ripoff of Beast from Beauty and the Beast, it isn't actually all that much better. Trust me, I tried, and the only half-way decent canine face I could find was bald, with a large snout and sabertooth fangs, which didn't allow you to have hair on it. That right there put a stop on my pink, winged bunny girl, which works pretty well here. That, and their monster feet are WORSE than ours, hard as it may be to imagine. They look more like your tibia and fibula have a right angle in them.
Then again, I heard somewhere that Paragon Studios were hiring an artist to deal with animalistic costume pieces specifically. That gives me a lot of hope for some movement on that front.
I wouldn't get your hopes up, although it would be nice to make anthro characters that arent stupidly monster looking.
FYI, GG, it IS possible to make an anthro character without going down the...f-word path. There is a large difference. I agree that way is...eh..yeah -flappy handwave-
But what about someone who wants to make a werewolf that looks a bit more humanoid and traditional? Or a believable dragon-hybrid, without the crappy mis-matching scales?
And what about tails that dont need a belt slot and dont look like utter, utter failcake? The 'tails' are the things I hate most in costume editor right now, tbh. -
It's a bit skew, in that case. Well, in certain cases more than others, at any rate.
Either that, or the missions I had the misfortune to run into were scripted with Bosses (Rescue Longbow Prisoners from Levantera in RWZ)
Had it set to same level, x3 and Bosses at first. First spawn was 2 bosses, an LT and 2 drones.
I corrected that to x2, no bosses. Still a nasty run, but it has been a while since I was RWZ running. More than likely my fail on that one
The other, which wasn't, was running a radio mission in Skyway, lvl 17. Lvl +0, x2 settings, with bosses. The mob was outcasts, and the majority of spawns were two LTs and a minion. Particularly nasty to run into solo. It feels (no evidence, sadly) like the system no favours spawning LTs over minions. Sometimes before I16 (like, for as long as Ive been playing) you would run into a map that spawned LT, LT, LT, thee minions, LT, something like that. Some maps were ALL LTs! Quite fun, usually, sometimes a right pain.

Quote:I think that was just aimed at whoever did it in general, apologies anyway.I assure you I didn't negrep you.
Secondly, are you saying that you've *never* seen the 'fine print' of contests excluding the participants outside of a particular jurisdiction?
And I can truthfully say I haven't, having never really entered any competitions. Certainly not international ones.

In all seriousness, the quality of English from English people on the EU servers is nothing short of...well, sad, really. Its worse that its not a surprise, given what people sound like on the street. -
Hmm, -rep with just 'Yes' as a comment? No name, as usual.
-golfclap-
I know I was actually ignorant of the fact that international laws were such a swine, something that was remedied as soon as people brought up the actualy reasons.
Sorry some of us aren't such knowalls. -
Quote:Bearing in mind this IS Uni and School going back time. I know it is for me, I just spend more time online then I shouldTitle says it all......reason behind this request is that Union + Defiant are pretty dead tbh.
I dont call 12 ppl in PI a lot (specially when 8 of em are our friendly Korean inf farmers) and the chances of snagging a team lately is pretty low.
You may get the odd random invite but apart from that it seems that everyone has decided to solo (probbly due to AE nerf and the fact they are learning to play their chars now).
SWG just announced 12 server closures due to their "successful" server migration scheme (successful = why in the blue hell didnt we stay with what we had instead of that CU crap)
so at least ppl there will get more populated servers now.
I see they sprung another double xp weekend (some kind of ploy to try and lure CO players back who are on the fence) so that may up the numbers a little but thats just gonna make PI a farmtown again. We already get the short end of the stick with 2 english servers for the same price as US yet with many more servers so we have to fork out extra money for more char slots, just wish NCsoft would buck up their ideas and try n get new blood into the game with some new content (dreading the trick or treat fest coming up).
I mean how many times are the Rikti gonna invade? at least spice it up a lil with something different or are they saving the pennies to buy new servers for Aion?
Peace out and flame on . . . . .
That and peoples wallets are possibly starting to growl at them...any number of RL reasons.

Quote:I can attest that the better spoken English speakers, at least on Union, tend to not be English. What language barrier? The one that precludes you and I from communicating you mean? Most Germans I know who play online know enough English to read an intermediate complexity novel. They might not be able to express themselves as easily as they may comprehend, but they'll be more legible than a native speaker who talks in all single letters and numbers.
Godshelpus...
And, while in the past I tended to be against merger stuff...ech, what the hell? So long as I get to keep my names, I don't mind that much.
Names is the main non-logistical/technological reason, I think. -
Quote:Except be NinjasThe actual issue with Stalkers is that they don't excel at anything in particular. The only thing they can do really well is kill one (possibly two) enemies very fast. Then they have to scrap.
In order to be good at killing one or two enemies very fast, they lose AoE prowess. Of the four melees, they have less AoE potential than all of them. Some of the sets, like Energy Melee, have no AoEs at all.
They don't fit in the standard progression of the four melees. Specifically, Stalkers do too little damage for their defense. It's my belief that the more defense an AT has, the less damage it should do. That should be a logical progression, but instead it looks like this:
Most defense to least:
Tanker
Brute*
Scrapper
Stalker
* = Brutes have the same values as Scrappers, but have more HP. They also have higher caps. I have a Brute that can self-cap S/L resist with an accolade. Without it, she can still hit 82%. No Scrapper can do that.
Most damage to least:
Brute
Scrapper
Stalker
Tanker
Stalkers do 1.00 damage with 10% crit rate. Scrappers do 1.125 with 5% crit rate (more on various powers, but 5% basic). With those values, Scrappers do 118.125% damage and Stalkers do 110%. Stalkers DO get higher crit values while teaming, but in teams their value is lessened because they have less AoEs. Their BU also does less of a boost.
If Stalkers are supposed to be the single-target kings, their damage should reflect that. They should have at least a damage scale of 1.125. This would allow them to "scrap" for more damage than Scrappers, at the expense of less defense and less AoEs. Really, it just makes sense. They have less defense, so they should do more damage. Stalkers should be that step between Blaster and Scrapper. Instead, they're there defensively but nowhere near there offensively, except for that first burst. A +100% from BU instead of +80% might help, but between those two things, AS might need to be tweaked slightly.
Stalkers are still unpopular even after the buff. I doubt it's the reputation they carry. Doms were unpopular except for the high-end permadom builds. Now they're quite popular. Stalkers are unpopular because other ATs do everything they do better.
In all seriousness, it's mostly true. I love my Claws/Ninja stalker, but I do hate it at times when he feels somewhat useless on teams where we're not wailing on a big AV or somesuch. The good thing about Claws is that it has a ranged component, and Ninja adds in some nice litte tricks.
An increase in base damage would be very nice, especially given the major lack of AoEs in Stalkers. My Biggest gripe is Eviscerate in Claws. Seriously, the HORRIBLE animation, for a single target attack? It used to be a cone, what the heck was wrong with that...? -
Quote:Maybe they should do a competition to see who can raise the most money for the epic battle of NCSoft vs DoomLawyers?A question, as a counter point (Not picking on you or anything.
.
Would you like them to get all the legal things fixed for international contest entry if it delayed GR by 4 months? Or prevented $FEATURE_YOU_REALLY_WANT_IN_GR from launching with the rest of GR?
Money to pay a dev to work on these things, or pay a lawyer to iron all these legal wrinkles?

Quote:Do /want2 arachnos soldiers with the crab branch, spec'd for AoE attacks, armor. Be sure to take the soldier maneuvers and assault, then add on the pool leadership maneuvers/assault. These would each give a constant 21.5% defense, fully slotted, and the two assaults would bring +30% damage from each crab.
Don't forget venom grenade, which with slotting would be up consistently for a hefty -20% damage resistance to all foes it hits.
Add a Night widow, with its leadership pools, and mind link. this is for another +21.5% defense, and +30% damage.
Your team now has +64.5% defense, and +90% damage on top of damage slotting.
What are you missing?
Throw in a Sonic/Kin corruptor. The corruptor's attacks lower enemy resistance, (-15% damage resistance from each attack) making them take more damage from all team members. His kinetics adds more damage, +recharge to the team's AoE's, and extra recovery. (Endurance seems to be about the only weakness full-blown arachnos suffer.) The Corruptor doesn't have to worry about mez or incoming damage, due to the crazy defense from the Arachnos troops.
Sound good? -
I see I'm not the only person to notice;
"Open to legal residents of the United States and Canada"
Come on, guys, does the EU REALLY count for so little? I'm quite a creative person, I would have quite liked to have put one of my arcs up for contest.
Just...bah. Its so irritating. -
Quote:I like that 2nd option right there. -nods-I think one of two solutions will mitigate the horror that is acquiring a suit of Vanguard gear.
Either:
Make the Vanguard unlocks account-wide, so even if they're a pain to get, at least you're getting some serious return
or
Combine all Vanguard pieces into a single pack and make that a single purchase. It may be expensive, but at least you get everything then. -
Quote:Low level redside. Mercy is my most hated zone. Its almost immersing, fighting like heck, just to get the hell outta the dump. And more power to ya!
I don't always PL up the ladder- right now I have a stalker and a blaster I've been leveling 'the old fashioned way' (which is why the shocking inferiority of the hero content is fresh in my memory).
But I like to play a LOT of alts, and at a certain point the early level slog becomes an irritation I'm happy to bypass.
lvl 15-20ish Blueside. When the Hollows has run out (I still love the Hollows) and the pre-stamina, pre-IO is REALLY biting.
20+ is the good times. I really do hate the low level endurance slog. Maybe it's just me. -
Quote:Sounds more like a possibility on a Dominator set. Control/Weapon. Or something.Aye. That is another sign that the game is not generic. Stalkers are different enough from scrappers are different enough from blasters are different enough from corruptors are different enough from MMs that sharing the same powersets does nothing but add variety and potential.
I'd love to play an Ice / Katana blaster.
And yes, viva la diversity. -
I'd say Peter Jackson, or Frank Miller. For shear volume of Epic.
-
Old content needs fixing. Period.
There is no excuse for fail! =P -
Quote:U.N funded, I think. Even then, it doesn't matter too much. Game mechanics are the limit of that part of IC, as its called the Rikti WAR zone. They cant go out to support, and in fac have to leave it to the Heroes/Villains because they are at war. Constantly. Those tanks rolling around are sadly just for show, but only due to game and engine limitations.I agree that they should be tough, but in a thematic game sense, as an arm of the U.N., their availability and extreme level of power kind of obviates the need for heroes. I've always wondered why there are no vanguard support soldiers during the zone invasions, given the fact that vanguard soldiers stand outside the zone entrances.
