This BS/regen started talking in broadcast about who's next to get 'owned'. I respond, 'You'. After useless words, I find out his location (villain hosp), go there, and after about 15 minutes and 4 Kuji-In Retsu uses, I drop him. He always seemed to have a trick to pull when I Placate/AS'd. What a fight. Scrapping a BS scrapper on a Ninja/Ninjitsu stalker.

Story in a nutshell:
Trick Arrow used to have 4 Targeted AoE powers. That made using the set incredibly difficult (although, it was pretty cool.) During the test period, we decided to change 2 powers to standard AoE attacks. Poison Gas Arrow was one of them.
Originally, Poison Gas Arrow would leave a large pool of gas that lasted almost a minute. Any critter entering the gas cloud would be debuffed and a small chance of being put to sleep every quarter of a second. When we changed it to a normal AoE, though, the chance to sleep was left at it's original level. While that was fine for a power activating 4 times a second, for a one shot chance, it was patheticly (sp?) low.
So, I increased the sleep chance to a 'better' value. It's still not 100% of the time, but you should get between 50% and 66% of minions when it lands.

Perhaps you could change it to a 50% pulse hold? That might be a little overpowered, but it is reminiscent of Volcanic Gasses, and would go a long way towards buffing the set. PGA + EMP Arrow! Held bosses! -
I'm /Ninjitsu. Nin is certainly awesome in PvP, but I wouldn't say it's all that much better than Regen. The thing that sets Nin apart from Regen is: the better status protection, the +perception power, the very good defense, and the better 38 power (stance defense instead of typed defense). It shares Reconstruction with Regen. So, defense with a self heal with an awesome click power? Mmm... But yeah. Regen gets DP, which is the difference between a one shot and a nasty, lengthy battle.
-
EM Pulse for blasters is a 20' disorient, not an 80' hold. Change that, and you'll be fine. I could swear I told you this once, but hmm... strange.

Many effects in the game are actually temporary pets (Blizzard, Fulcrum Shift, Caltrops, Burn, Ice Patch, etc).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, this explains why Transfusion won't heal around just-dead mobs. The power fails because the target is no longer applicable and the pet does not spawn. Speaking of QoL things, will the Transfusion bug ever be fixed? -

Long long ago, in a post far away, one of the devs mentioned the way -Resistance worked. Now, What I've heard that post mentioned was that -Res wasnt actual -Res but a damage multiplier. Is this correct, or is this one of the fallacies just randomly flying around?
[/ QUOTE ]
Resist Debuffs are resisted by Damage Resistance.
If your 100 damage attack hits someone with no resists, it does 100 damage.
If that person had a 25% Resist Debuff, damage taken would be 125.
A 100 damage attack vs someone with 50% resists would take 50 damage.
If that person had a 25% Resist Debuff on them, damage taken would be 62.5.
EDIT: The above assumes the Resist Debuff is resistable. Defenders debuffs are not resistable in PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
So that means that damage resist resists debuffs? Is this automatic? I know there are defense debuff resisting powers, but I did not know that damage resist automatically resisted damage resist debuffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well yeah, otherwise Hamidon would be able to be very easily killed by a group of rad defender/controllers and some blasters. -

At first glance I thought a Dev had actually lost it, and was getting tired of all the Troll-like Posts.
My Bad. :-)

Sad thing is, so did I.
EDIT: Liked the story, Arctic, but why are the Gardvords higher in rank than the Ogres/Calibans? The latter ARE 'boss' class, after all. -

But wait! You completely left out the part about bumping your thread using your second forum account!

This is actually going to be covered in the addendum entitled "Stupid Forum Tricks".
Actually, I need to register a name for my other account. Thanks for the reminder!

Ahh, but how do we know you aren't one of the praisers of this guide? -
The SMASH!!! is very addicting. My own Stone/Energy is quite entertaining.
Be wary of the Power of the SMASH!!!. -

I'm thinking into respeccing out of Short Circuit as well... the three holds just outclass it when soloing... and in teams, its a bit riskier when it's not a guranteed drain. Although I do like the ability of "stacking" it with Power Sink still to drain higher level mobs... hm.
Really liking T-Strike eh?

It's the ragdoll physics! :\
Seriously, I really like the nearly guaranteed knockback, plus the great damage. -
My Blaptroller is doing fine. Dropped Short Circuit (never liked it THAT much anyway) and picked up Thunder Strike. OMG I love that power. I rely on my three holds and especially Shocking Grasp's drain-over-time to take on multiple bosses with relative ease, and TB for groups of minions. I hardly even use my AoEs anymore. Maybe I'll respec out of Static Discharge because, frankly, it sucks immensely now. Those slots could probably be better used in Charged Bolts *shudders*.
-
We might not have our Short Circuit anymore, but hey, that means more slots for attacks, like Thunder Strike or something.
-
Nice guide, but it could use a bit more description. Like, endurance costs, activation times, base numbers for debuffs, etc.
Also, might want to mention various applicable tactics a rad defender can use (no, I don't mean the power Tactics). -
Phew, that took FOREVER to read, but it was worth every moment of it. Great guide, one I shall use for my wittle bitty kinetics, who is kin/sonic.
Also, /sonic comes with a cone sleep power {Siren's Song} which could be used to great effect in tandem with Mass Confusion, keeping at least 20 or 26 foes sleeping... -
A very strange guide. *coughs*
r u teh l33tz0r?!
God that hurt to type.
Ah well, funny and original, imaginary stars shall come to you in the mail by thursday. -
Rather nice guide. Thanks for writing it
Anyway...
The Minions of Igneous hasn't been explained enough to warrant a guide. My guess is, they are somehow given form and purpose by the magic surrounding the area of the Hollows (Transcendence area).
Same goes with the Rularuu. -
Very funny guide I just hope that someone actually follows this guide, just to be very evil. As long as they share their story.
-
I very rarely comment on guides, but this is an extremely good one. You've thought of EVERYTHING in this guide. Very good
Oh, 5 stars for you! -
tpull...you are definately quite a good writer of adventures, even if they are just your memories put to the keyboard...You have let me remember many things when Atom was just a shrimp, especially the babbage ordeal. That was exceedingly close to epic when I found myself piling onto that hunk of junk, and what a surprise indeed when Atom found himself facing the same pile of junk in the late levels!
Tis a shame Atom is on pinnacle instead of freedom, or I would definately like to team with you, as you seem like a good team player.
Keep up the journal entries as possible, you have another fan -
I have encountered a problem on the freeway in Skyway over near the Gruff enemies that jump over the middle section of the freeway often fall right through to the very bottom streets
