Quote:^ a thousand times this.I find that the two second cast time for teleport is what is most annoying. It would be much more enjoyable if the animation took a half-second, where the biggest limitation to teleport being the endurance cost.
I don't need a toggle. I just don't need to two seconds to do some sort of chicken-wing gesture with my arms.
Yes, BaBs. Chicken-Wing.
Faster animation, solved. -

It would be nice if, tied in with MM customisation in the 'Soon' future, if we got a few more options like this.
Give Bots inherent fly, if only because those jets are so cool

Quote:Oh definitely. I'd rather they took the time to make something balanced and good if it was going to be changed. I just think that it does need looking at at some point. Simply because Stamina, as a pool power, should be optional, not necessary to actually play past level 20.Endurance becomes an issue because you're right at the crunch between every statistical hardship - enemy HP starts pacing better, higher endurance powers crop up (level 18), you still have relatively few slots, survival powers become more crucial and cost yet more endurance, you're not quite to SOs yet, and so on.
But balancing that is extremely tricky because endurance consumption is so wildly different between sets, slotting, and playstyle. For instance, it's possible to burn more endurance due to killing things too fast. And damage enhancements can be far more important than endurance reduction.
Basically, I don't strictly disagree, and I know you didn't say anything of the sort, but the issue needs to be carefully examined, rather than just slapping such a broad-reaching fix on it like another global endurance reduction.
(No, IO'ing doesn't count. The game should not be balanced around the assumption that people can IO. Yes, some sets dont need it, Regen and Willpower. Thats pretty much it. Anything else requires a very specific build to achieve. Hardly casual gamelplay.)

There was a coiling, twisting bend in the air. There was a distinctly strange feeling, before, with a blink, two figures were stood near the group. One was slim and fairly tall, clad in gleaming white armour with a sky blue inlay. Pure, white pinions spread from her back, and as she walked towards the group the air seemed to clear a little. Even the rain didn't seem to land on her. Her face was covered by a white hood that seemed far, far deeper than it should do, with two glimmering starlights in its depths.
The figure who followed towered over the other. Scorched black armour with a red inlay that shifted and writhed in unsettling ways, a blood red hood covering his face. The depths seethed like the armour, two patches of even darker darkness glaring out from the deeps. The pinions on his back werte scorched, charred and ruined and, over all, silver chains that shone faintly were wrapped and bound all around his torso and arms.
It was very clear out of the pair who was the angel, and who was the fallen.
"Tor vaneth amorta," the smaller figure said in a soft, feminine voice, bowing her head as the two came to stand beside the group. "I am Arkeela and this," she motioned at the titan beside her, who merely rumbled, "Is Xariel. I apologise in advance for anything he says that is too...blunt. And worry not, he can do you no harm."
The twin starlights glimmered as she looked around the group.

Hey...D_R...
Vanguard movie-trailer-esque video? =P Just had a few ideas crop up looking over this thread.
Y'know, this is what I love most about the game. The backstory and canon. So many gems in it. -
Quote:That just leads to problems. Even if the 'reward' of going up a rank is slight, its still a little mark of satisfaction. That and people tend to get jaded when even a rank newcomer has as much say and rights as someone who has put, say, a years worth of effort in. Extreme example, but you know what I mean. And yes it's an RP group, and IC even more so characters would have some sort of ranking system. Thats just how things go.i am happy with Nighthunters as the SG name ..
as am aside ..rank names do not have to be used , we could choose to ignore ranks , after all they are just a method of assigning SG and Base rights ..we could all , bar the needed SG leader , have the rank of Member , all with the same level of rights , and ignore the other ranks ..
Dang its that neo anarcist gene palying up again ... -
An endurance balance, especially at lower-mid levels should be done soon, IMO. There is a definite range, mostly 14-19 where endurance consumption on pretty much every set and AT becomes pretty much crippling except on teams. AND thats with acc and end slotting, etc, before people ask.
OT...I just want the mutant pack to include some decent animal faces. NOT Monster heads, animal faces. Something you can realistically use heroside without looking like a red-side reject. Whatever silly prejudices Jay has... -
Night Hunters good to go for the group name? Thats the one thing we need to get right first go, since that's the only thing we can't edit at all.
Afterall, demons/ghosts and supernaturals are all usually associated with the Night...so what they literally hunt IS the Night? =P -
Quote:I think this is what I feel as well.Mostly because I've felt that the players rarely if ever having an effect on a game's world has always been an unfortunate downside of the MMO game style. I understand the reasoning for the limitation, mind you, but it still feels like everything I do is for naught. This would be one of the coolest ways to cheange that.
Part of the reasoning behind me trying to kick-start a war on Union server, with a full scale Arachnos invasion of the PvP zones.
Then along came I13...heh.
They did actually change some canon to reflect player actions, namely in CoV Alpha, I think? Or Closed Beta launch...something. I might be wrong.
But some changes over-time would be nice. There are certainly things that have been left as they were when the game/thing came out. Some NPC in PD said only the other day;
"So, come here often? Oh, silly me, it's new isn't it?"
Uhm...not for a while now, chum

Well, ranks have got to mean something. That was just an example, and some reasoning behind the rank names. SWAT was the only equivelant I could think of. e.g the most experienced members, etc will, by default of being around the longest and earning the most prestige, will have been fighting for the longest...ergo.
And this is very baseline for me, Pious. If you want deep, I can do better

Quote:Thats true. End crashing AVs is always funAs with many exotic damage types, psi pays for relatively few resistant targets by having some of those few show very strong resistance. A pair of electric blasters could be fun. Two short-circuits going off simultaneously is obviously unfair, but then obviously unfair = fun if you ask me. Electric blast deals energy damage, which does run into the same problem with high levels of resistance in a small number of enemies -- I believe it's 40% on mu anything in the Arachnos faction, for one example, and malta sappers might as well be immune.

AE seems to have twin Katanas and twin swords, as well as the (worse looking imo) dual blades.
Wish we got the other options for VG weapons. The traditional VG DB look rather pants, I think. Im not saying everyone hates them, just some options would be nice. -
Quote:Uhuh.Reichsman is still Marcus Cole, an American, so English is probably his primary language. It would be funny if he ever shows up in another arc to see another Axis-themed villain griping about Reichsman's Yankee accent but being too scared to mention it to his face.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Reichsman
Canon says otherwise. In fact, is it even clear if Reichs IS Marcus Cole? He just happens to have similar powers, very likely from the Well, and be the *counter-part* of Statesmen.
He's definitely german though, given the words of german in his in-game speech and the fact he actually led the Storm Korps of Axis Earth. -
MA hits like a run-away freight train, but at lower levels its rather endurance heavy.
Psi/psi blasters are great, simply because the damage type is so un-resisted and very heavy hitting. Squishy as all blasters are, but rather damaging.
Regen is pretty good for a first scrapper set, mainly for a better version of Stamina at level 4 (Quick Recovery). That eliminates endurance problems pretty well, and its less management heavy than some of the others.
My first hero was and still is an Invul/EM tanker. He levelled slow, but only cos I'm a raging altaholic. Nowadays he is, literally, invulnerable, and this is without finishing the slotting for Psi res I'm giving him. Tough and Weave + Invul is something wicked. -
Hnn...Inquisitor sounds too religious/Warhammer based, maybe that's just me...
Some reasonings;
1. Associate - The newest members, those who have not proved their worth or who only work alongside the group occasionally.
2. Tracker - The go-to members, who hunt down the supernatural wherever it lurks. The high-ups point, they track, trap and terminate.
3. Seeker - Specialist and elite Trackers. Seekers dont just track marked targets, they hunt down anything that registers on the list of targets, mostly under their own volition.
4. Judicator - The 'SWAT' of the group, the heavy hitters and trusted exterminators. The beings of the night and darkness know to fear these individuals.
5. Enlightened - The 'officers', those who have not only faced but understand the true nature of the Darkness, and are still standing. Where they walk, shadows retreat in fear.
6. Illuminated - The Illuminated is not so much the 'master' as the elected leader of the Enlightened, the spokesperson of the group. They bear the metaphorical light of the group, that burns away the Darkness and stands out as an example. -

Quote:Im about 90% sure Posi mentioned them updating the 'Tutorials and early game experience', without specifically saying 'Just in Praetoria'. So, I might be over-optimistic on that, but I would be guessing they are at least taking a look at the other tutorials as well.Something I just thought of - at Hero Con, Positron mentioned Praetoria and its new tutorial, and that the tutorial modernizes the entry level experience - but wouldn't that only be useful for people starting off as Praetorians, unless they're planning on updating the Hero and Villain tutorials too?

Warden rank sounds good, and replace Newcomer with Associate...that way its a tad more flexible.
Other than that, I say I think we're ready to get this show on the road, the SG name is starting to grow on me

Quote:I like your line of thinking sirCall me petty and evil but I look forward to seeing the the reactions of the CO fanbois when they get confronted with visual awesomeness that is Going Rogue.

It's a bit like your avatar...which still makes me blink when it runs at just the right time. -

I'm going to break the mould a bit and say /Shield Defense.
I built a Vanguard Colonel with Sword/Shield heroside. Despite it only being lethal damage for the most part, the -def is nice to keep things going.
And the main reason; Shield Charge. Rikti don't like shield charge, and drones especially hate it.
I've not tried it, but Elec/Shield, with Lightning Rod AND Shield Charge, would be particularly nasty. -

Quote:Don't be rediculous.I don't see why it's a stupid question, I think it's a very good one.
And since I already "killed off" PK... sure I'd throw him into the fire for virtual immortality.
Now HERE is a stupid question: Are banana goats blue to truffle hunt in the twilight?
Everyone know that if Bannana Goats were blue they'd show up. Truffles are sensitive little brafelsnacks. They could pick out a blue Goat in swiffleseconds.
They're red. Red DOES show up, but it does so in a very snurpflous way. Red is also the colour of the Truffles favourite food, the lesser worple bungle. So they gambol blithely over to the goats, and instead of smurnching happily, they get compglobberated. Any fool knows that Bannana goats prefer their food globberated. -
