And maybe this would be too difficult to engineer at this point but, I wish there was a game-to-Web digesting function. This function would scan all the registered characters on all the servers, give us a full body screenshot of each and output all the bios, or lack thereof, to text on Web pages. Then I could see who had the cool bios and cool designs without all the clicking and crowd watching I sometimes wish I had the time to do in the game.

Not really a formal suggestion. Just a vague idea really.
That sort of thing was WIP.
    Then it broke. Badly.
Its now been shelved at the back somewhere, and is very unlikely to ever happen.

    Zones:

Old zone content needs fixing first. Content, not the maps, maybe. But old is still old, and not as fun to play through.

Then, by all means, roll onto the new stuff, since it will be good, having seen what zones like the new RWZ and Cimerora are like. We know the Devs do great work.
But it won't hold together if the paintwork is shiny but the chassis (old zones) are rusty. And they are,

Hardly. Its also hardly a majority reward. Its very much a minority reward. And not all the people who will get it will PvP.

    Points;
-PvP zones don't open up until 15+, by which time you can easily have a travel power. 25 is the cap for Bloody Bay, which now means you can have up to level 30 powers in there. So, there is no real reason why you cannot get a travel power in there.

-Prerequisites. A problem everyone else has to deal with. Can't really expand much more on that. You don't like it, neither does everyone else who has to put up with it.

-Devaluing veteran rewards. They don't mean much, but 5 years is a long time. It makes sense to make it something that at least makes a difference for that loyalty. 5 years worth of subs is not suddenly going to be the same as a micro-pack.

I don't have it, either. Would I like it? Hell yes. Would I agree with this? Hell no.

    Guys - Too deep.
Take it to PM's before Mod08 hits us with the Threadlock hammer, please?

Any costume being locked off I can deal with, so long as it is reasonable. Right now I'm grinding my new Corr as fast as I can to 35, because I need the ITF unlocks so I can complete her main costume. After that, all I need is the flipping Unveiler badge (she's an ex-Nemesis officer).

As of now, the Vanguard kit isn't the hardest thing to get, no (I think that honour goes to the Tommy Gun and Red Cap knives redside. No, farming the missions with a friend/alt who has Redcaps DOESN'T count. Not everyone can do that.)

BUT, it is unreasonably hard for a costume piece. Things like the Council guns unlock easily on both sides, simply by doing missions you can gun enough of them down to get the badge. Unlockable costumes should range from Easy-Medium, not Easy-GrindCity. And, if they are going to be unlockable, they should at least be AQUIREABLE. I'm looking at the Redcap knives and the Rularuu weapons Redside, which are much harder to get than blueside. And I will argue that until I blow a cerebral coil.

    Character Bios

    All of 'em.
If I can't think of a decent backstory, and if it's not a character I could RP, I don't make it.

Sure there are edits, changes and, in the case of my first toon, major retcons
(He was originally from a world attacked by Rikti and, despite being a robot, had two Kheldians merged with him. Now he's a warrior/scientist in the wrong galaxy, but determined to help out)

I don't mind the running out of space in biogs. I DO mind how borked the text boxes are atm. Ever since I14, sadly =/
  9. Arkeela stepped back and, unceromoniously, booted the monstrousity square in the face, the head toppling back with a sickening peeling sound. Her armour seemed to fade, shrinking down back to her normal size, her weapon of light curving itself into the form of an axe.
She began muttering quickly under breath, in something that sounded vaguely like latin, but was more like the tongue of the celestials.

As for the EU/NA differences, reasons have already been exhausted but personally, I think it's down to the natural Unionverse/Forumverse divide. Theres not a lot you can do about that, EU and NA players can and do RP together on the Forumverse but some plots bound to the Union server will spill out to here and thats where the Unionverse tags come in. Lastly, I don't think EU forum roleplayers leave plots unGM'ed. Looks like Grey's example was a one-time mishap. Like Mechano said, we pretty much all play the game together and RP together so our threads tend to have more structural freedom, which I think is only a good thing, it encourages wild ideas and creativity. Anyway, maybe the answer to the alienting problem of EU/NA forum RP'ers is more Forumverse plots like the short-lengthed Boomtown Blues story and ongoing ones like Superhero 102. *Goes off to thought-shower*
If anything ever came of a server-list (note, list ) merge...It would be kinda nice to make a new server. A dedicated RP server, maybe? I've seen them in other games (although I have no idea how effective they are.)

Anyway, rambling aside, the plot I had in mind did rely on a large ammount of VEATs teaming up redside, and beginning a full on invasion of Sirens Call, with the intention of winning the mini war thats going on there, before spreading into other scenarios. There was also the back-scheme of beating up the Warburg Rebels, while also laying hands on the missiles, for use in both Sirens and Bloody Bay.

Sadly, the I13 PvP changes, along with slow VG recruitment, put that on the back burner. If enough people would be interested in a general War on forums, maybe that could work out....but it would also have a lot of problems associated with it...
    Ho-hum...Pity I can't bribe a Dev to start an in-game event...

  13. Arkeela, now walking like a heavily armoured goliath, clanked towards the giant, Xariel following in her wake. The angel's very prescence seemed painful to the undead, as they rushed her blindly, only to be cut down by Xariel's whip-like chains.
She stepped up to monstrous Nightmare, punching a huge, armoured gauntlet clean through the front of it's skull, before raising the other fist to hammer blows down on it. Xariel laughed, the taunting bass sound echoing as he lashed out again and again, chains hammering at anything undead within reach.
  14. Absorb Pain is your 'Ohshi!' button. Yes, you don't need it all the time. You probably shouldn't use it all the time, nor should you really need it.

But it's incredibly useful. Running a ship raid while working for the VG armour on my empath, sometimes there are a lot of people that need healing all at once. Aura and Heal Other can patch the squishies back up fairly fast. But AP allows you to leave the tank/brute/non-squishy just that little bit longer while you get the other back in the green. THEN you hit AP and bring them back up to full.

Thats the beauty of it. I 3 slot if with just heals, since it recharges fast anyway and you shouldnt need it that often. And that heal can do a huge ammount of good. I was using it to keep somones Vanguard Heavy alive during the centre attack, and I could bring it from half dead to full in one go.

Far from a useless power. But it's all subjective. It might not suit everyone, while it suits others more.

^ Something I've mentioned a few times, and still agree with. Leave the weapon unlocks alone, they are bearable to get. It's when you can get a top and two chest details for 100 and yet a helmet costs 250 merits is when you pause and go '..Eh?'

I do think the VG merit drops are borked. 1 for Minion, 2 for LT, 3 for Boss, sure that's fine. But it's so RARE. We're not talking purple recipes here, as has been said. It's a costume part.

As for the sense of achievment thing...I got about half the armour on my VG colonel without doing ship raids. Pure, abhorent grinding. Would I lose that 'sense of achievement' having got it the hard way?
No. I would be damn happy that a costume set I really like is more readily available for use on characters I want it on.

Lift the ability to start a team at least.
Aye, that sort of restriction is counter-productive. Majorly.

If there is concern that trial accounts will be used by RMT or anything and spam people with teamvites and such...people can just quit the team they are on.

Hell, make the gignore list infinite and that also solves the broadcast problem too. Slap a gignore on em and no more problems.

  18. Well, I did try starting a good old war Union side that, sadly, didn't go through. I guess it might be easier now with AE, given I know PvP isn't everyones cup of tea (this was originally planned before I13, which might explain the fall through)

    Worst Mobs Ever.

    Vahzilok.
I got reminded why I hate them last night.
Oh, look, we're a low level enemy group! We ALSO have zombies that punch like a freight train, explode at you, have tons of toxic damage and DoT, are stupidly accurate, -recharge, -speed, stackable, and have LTs that not only do godawful ammounts of damage but also REZ downed zombies!

I mean...these guys should be mid-level mobs...not low level. Seriously...
  20. Working on my AR/Pain Corr, the team build is running smoothly, but it's not particularly attack heavy. That's fine and dandy when teamed, but solo it kinda shoots me in the foot.
    Was wondering if anyone had any experience/advice with the combo, or just observations on any major mistakes I've made ^^;

Aiming to make her a bit tougher, but I do worry about how much end the toggles are using...

  21. Just an observation, US Forum RP seems to benefit from it's stricter GM'ing (Golden Eagle High, for example, which I'm enjoying immensely) whereas I can never keep going long with the majority of EU plots, simply because they lack said structure, and invariably end up with people getting annoyed with one another.

I do kind of wish that it was easier to organise big RP events that would involve lots of people, and get remembered for time to come...but hey, cats and herding eh?
  22. Does it still kill the WHOLE team when they enter the caves beneath?
I remember the leader checking that everyone had wakies and a rez and stuff. I was puzzled, until the entire team died as soon as we stepped through.
    The general consensus was; lol

We finished it, either way. But I do feel the Cavern TF is really badly done.

  25. If loading screens bug you that much, it sounds like you need to upgrade your PC, in all seriousness.

I know how bad it can get, too. My old dino PC back home used to take...ooo, upwards of six-seven minutes to load a mission? Sometimes longer fo a zone. Back then, as soon as anyone said 'Faultline' my heart fell.

My laptop improved on that, although it was still a tad slow zoning at times.
My NEW Rig devours load times like they dont exist, and the difference to enjoyment is massive.

Travel isn't so much a problem. My one travel gripe is how Blueside has such a clunky system, with the two tram lines and things like flipping Faultline getting left off the map all together. But hey, that may just be me.
