Thus, I propose what I believe may be the best of both worlds - when creating a custom critter, present the option to use the attributes of an in-game mob, rather than picking out specific powers. For example, let's say you want to create a custom mob named "Chrono Agent". You design the costume and once you do, you are presented with an option to use the powers and abilities of any in-game mob. So instead of selecting specific powers, you decide to use a say, a Tsoo Red Ink Man as the template for Chrono Agent's abilities. Everything about the Ink Man is transplanted onto Chrono - hit points, powers, level range, the works.

To all practical purposes, someone fighting Chrono Agents would be fighting say, Red Ink Men, but with appearances and biographies determined by the arc creator. Thus, because mobs created by the devs are {supposedly} balanced in the risk/reward department, there would be no reason not to grant rewards corresponding to the custom critter's template mob.

What does everyone think? Did I miss anything obvious?

Was in Game this weekend. There were two stacks of CO on the shelves in the PC section, a whole shelf just for WoW (as is normal, at any rate) and....not a whiff of CoX.

We need some advertisement, big time!

    -kay.

This thread got real wierd, real fast.

This is not even really a question of 'wether you like RP or not'.
This is an issue that there was griefing/harrasment (as defined by the rules the Devs/Mods have set) and people are concerned about it, and asking here, as well as via /petition, that something be done about it.

    An example;

Running missions and normal content, but somebody took away the mobs. And the exp. And the inf. And all the drops.

Or PvP, where there is one person griefing people. By having an 'I win button' that one shots everyone. Like a portable PPD/Arbiter Drone.

Yes, they sound extreme. But its effectively the same thing; it's removing the fun from something that people do for fun, being inconsiderate, rude and childish. And sorry, I know that offensive. To children, that is.

I should think not. It's a whole different style of shooting.

What they SHOULD do is decrease the gosh damn endurance costs for MM personal attacks. Have you SEEN how much they cost? I'd expect to be two shotting minions with the cost of MM attacks, instead they do piddly damage.

As for changing anims, seriously doubt. Alternate animations? Maaaaybe. Still doubtful.

    Loop Music

In missions, it seems to be set to only play in certain areas; mission doors, boss rooms, stuff like that.

See the many threads about adding dynamic/improved music to the game. -nods-

For one it needs the end cost of it's toggle reigned in.

    Invulnerability has 3 toggles that use 0.26, 0.26 and 0.21 end/sec or 0.73total.

    Shield has 4 toggles with costs of 0.21, 0.21, 0.21 and 0.16 end/sec for a total of 0.79 end/sec

Dark Armor has four toggles (And that's only counting the armors) that cost 0.21, 0.21, 0.21 and 0.26 for a total of 0.89 AND needs to run Acrobatics for KB protection piling an additional 0.33 end/sec for a grand total of 1.22 before you even consider adding the damage aura, Fear Aura or Stun Aura.

Dark Regen's end cost is also completely unreasonable. Yes sure it's a potentially massive heal but almost all of it's potential is going to be wasted anyhow. What does it matter that you can heal back 300% of your hitpoints when you ONLY HAVE 100%? If you only get 1/3rd of the power's benefit, why do you still have to pay for it as if you were getting the whole thing?

Now, I'm fine with Dark's end use being balanced soley around it's defensive toggles, with the auras having added costs on top of that, But IMO it should either be balanced to include an alotment for Acrobatics, OR have KB protection added in so that you dont need to add the extra end cost of Acrobatics anyway.

With regard to the auras, CoF really needs work Either get rid of that huge accuracy penalty, make the -tohit debuff autohit, or chop it's end cost down to 0.33end/sec. As is it's most often skipped and rarely worth it anyhow.

Armour sets that purposefully leave holes while still costing the same ammount of end are horrible. I managed to get a DB/DA Brute to 32 before deleting him from frustration. The actual resistance values of DA are sub-par and, even if you do get all the sparklies for it, thats at the cost of a massive chunk of endurance which is, in the end, crippling.

Now, if there was an ignore button that actually removed the character from your screen and made them not interact with your character (collisions, etc)...

Well. Happy days that'd be. He/she can carry on getting their kicks from griefing, while the others can carry on doing what they do for fun. Win/win?
  10. lolDarkArmour

I think (personally mind) that it needs more than just that. A good few number tweaks to make it able to stand up would be nice.

I'd like to clear this sort of misunderstanding up, because people aren't quite getting this. (Not in a harsh way, I just want to explain the matter to make it clear)

The person in question (or at least the one who was in PD regularly harrasing people) was running pretty much every aura he had, all a bright green. In itself? Not too bad.

He would then go and stand in the middle of groups talking. And jump around, being rather obnoxious. Thats harder to ignore. People will ask politely for it to stop. He doesn't.

He then turns whirlwind on. Now, this move has the added affect of actually shunting other Players around. Given most of the people in PD are standing around, this is even easier. Like a bowling alley. It's impossible to concentrate with a person spinning around with that high pitched whirly wind sound. And being shunted around. A lot. With the green auras too.

Just saying, it's like saying to people who get bullied at school 'Just ignore them' or 'Just avoid them'. That really, really doesn't work. Trust me on that.
  13. It's getting worked on. So sit down and be patient like the rest of us. Afaik, MM customisation isnt coming until they've given it a LOT of options. We're talking more than just recolours here, although t'hell with me if I can find the Dev post. Im pretty sure I remember that being the case though.

    Hmnn...so-so. Uncertain.

I do likey. Bigger pets, the better.

The more I think on it the harder it becomes to come up with an unique power for everyone, yet the idea appeals more and more. This would also allow similar AT like tanks and brutes to become more unique (More so that just the differance granted by the AT inherent power)
If certain ATs inherents were a bit more functional, than that might be settled more easily. As it is...hmm. Interesting, but not sure how well it would sell.
  16. Armoury Store.
Buy temp powers, additional 'ammo', etc.
Inf sink, temp powers, flavour and options.

    Nuff said.
  17. Can't...see...any real flaws with that. Although yeah, less +jump in Dwarf Form, more focus on end mod and end red I'd say.

Not too shabby, overall, and maybe add in a few 4 slot sets.

    Do want.
As for the two-handed/shield issue; you do know stone melee has two handed hammers? That become one handed with shields?

I should know, I spent a LOT of Inf trying to get the colors right on my Arbiter toon. I ended up making a Huntsman costume with the boots and shoulders near-white to make him a pseudo-Arbiter, like a high-rank Huntsman in the way Arbiter Daos is a high-rank Arbiter.

Now if your shader option is set to low, then yes the Arbiter suit IS white/white.
    ^ this
I set the helmet, shoulders, chest plate, glove bands and boots to white. The undersuit is a dar kgrey, lacking the sheen the NPC Arbiters have. The cape we can't do anything about.
AE is your friend. It lets you mess around with NPC colours to find out what the closest or sometimes exact match is.
