On a slightly different subject though? You know what I'd love? Not having to rely on getting buffs to be able to get good times for the ski badges. How? Simple, add a Skis temporary power, available from the ski instructors at the top of each run, that acts basically as super speed and super jump in one power. Give it a short timer, say maybe 5 minutes, so people wouldn't be able to exploit it and use it as an actual travel power. If the effort could be spared they could (and should, if it's possible) make animations for it too, so characters can actually ski rather than just sliding about.

Also on the subject of ski runs, can we please make them give all badges any given time is elegible for? IE: getting silver gets you bronze as well and getting gold will get you silver and bronze too. Having to make three runs going deliberately slower each time becomes really really irritating when you do it on as many alts as I do.
Getting Gold first go = Silver and broze as well gets my signed.
However, except maybe for gold, you DONT need boosts.
I got all three medals on the normal ski run, just with hurdle, SS and ninja run on my Fender last night. I also got Silver on the advanced run, but was litreally a second out for gold. And I was too fast for bronze I need to try for that one again. First time I've ever given the slopes more than a few tries.

If possible, I wonder if the power could be built with a duality. When dead you get Rise of the Phoenix as it is now. When alive you get Demise of the Phoenix (someone is bound to have a better name) where it acts like a knock off of Self Destruction--huge damage kb AOE that drains a ton of life and requires a to-hit check. Essentially, a power crash that IS the power. However, since it doesn't actually kill you, you don't have to reactivate toggles. Plus a nominal five second untouchable period to protect you since you purposely put yourself in a near death state. During this state you can't use Rest or be healed by teammates but can use inspirations and self heals.
Whurl...Howling Twilight can be used even when no team-mates are dead, just for the stun portion of it, IIRC. Thats about all I got.

  4. Castle did say that Stone Armour as a whole wasn't balanced. Problem is, it's a swine to balance. And, undoubtably, for all the people who like any changes, there will be loads that hate it.

Personally? I find stone unplayable as it is now. Any changes would probably be a good thing. But that's just one bots opinion.
  5. Arcanaville has spoken.
This does just seem like a massive dose of 'Looking for Pain.' It doesn't look challenging. That would be a Master Of run. This just looks Not Fun.
  6. Can someone link me to that pic?
Y'know, the epic double crashing facepalm one?

We already have that power. It's called brawl. Yes, we know it sucks after about level 6. Unless you're a Brute. That's life.
And, technically, you can block in Katana and Broadsword sets. Parry is pretty damn close.
  7. Awesome comes to us mere mortals in few forms. This is one of them.
I am going to HAVE to get my cerebro circuits in gear and come up with something to commision you with :P It's just too awesome!

I loved the jilted femmes near the end; Sis Psyche, Ghost Widow...genius XD

It is certainly more preferable to hit Elude when you are about to die rather than hitting ROTP after you died.

I am sorry to have to break it to you but after you use your precious rez, you have to realize your set still is inferior and you are several mins away from ROTP coming back up, unless of course you waste slots on it for recharge.
Where does he say that IO are required?

In facy, you just highlighted the real failings. The "set still is inferior"...so, it's not actually anything to do with RotP, its actually the rest of the set needs tweaking and balancing? Same as Dark armour, which also has a self-rez. Is it the self rezes fault? No. I found Dark armour to be inferior before I got to the level of the self rez, and the flaw I found was far too high end consumption across the board, and 'balancing' not working centered around the stealth cloak and the slightly more gimmicky powers.
  9. Ok, went back on my EM/Invul tanker for the first time in a long while.

Whirling Hands is, even if nothing else gets changed, in desperate need of fixing. An 8' radius? EIGHT FOOT?! I can barely hit anything with it in a mob, and belive you me I've tried. A maximum of ten targets is all very well, when only about five are ever that close. The damage is still meh on WH, but the radius is a real killer.

I was wondering wether I was simply spouting here without actually remembering what the set really felt like. Well; it still feels clunky. Sets have their ups and downs, good and bad points. Thats balance. But all of them flow.
EM, right now, does not flow. It clunks. And thats not a good thing, in any set.

The New Praetorian looks are all pretty awesome, I'd like to see the "classic" NPCs get a similar update.
...I wouldn't say it's that bad. Generic, maybe, but it looks decent in the new CGI shots. But yeah, updates and revamping is GOOD, y'hear?

Hopefully once the mass that is GR is safely unleashed, there wil lbe time to really crank up the dial in regards to special things like the events...
Hell, even putting a few potted christmas trees around City Hall and stuff would be good. Maybe a flew slightly scabby trees around Mercy Island, with some OTT spectacular ones outside Golden Giza, etc.

It would be like saying that you wouldn't need to adjust Tanker survivability levels if you increased their damage to Scrapper levels. If you did that, almost nobody would play Scrappers, since Tankers would do more damage, and have better survivability. Changes to the secondary can indeed impact the primary.
True, but with Blasters both their sets are about damage, albeit with a bit of mitigation in the secondary. Effectively, you are already lowering their damage by changing the secondary.

VEATs are pretty much what you get when you have a Blaster with shields. Ok, some of their powers are AoE team based ones, such as Maneuvers, etc. But I dont see how it would be impossible to create an AT with blasts and shields that is not an EAT, and still have it balanced. I wouldnt advocate changing Blasters themselves, since they work fine as they are, and are fun and balanced. But more options and more variety is surely a good thing?

The last time the devs tried to replace "powers nobody took," there were mobs with pitchforks, tar and feathers getting ready to gather outside the offices. You'll notice many of the PPPs (and some APPs) now have five powers instead of four.
    Defender level?
Why would changes to the Secondary have that much of an affect on the Primary, just out of curiousity?

Blasters still have a higher damage scale. Something I realised when playing my AR/Ice after playing my AR/Pain corr for a long time. GODS the damage gap is HUGE, scarily so...

  16. Still in the middle of doing a re-design for the Outcasts, and then the Trolls.
Seriously, all of the old NPCs are really starting to show their age, and could do with a damn good overhauling.

Problem pretty much comes down to design, time, and manpower. Who does the designs, when, and when is there room to get it implemented.

And yeah, your Psyche looks good except for the fact you made her face way too rounded. She's got a very thin, slim face. Everything else looks good, 'cept for the colours being a tad off.

    Amen.
Allow old stuff to be cleaned out of your list, like the MA Souveniers.
  18. Right...
    One of you, two of you, I don't care;

You owe for me for ten minutes of time you just wasted on spoiling my cerebral core!

Strewth...Someone link them to the Dev Digest already. The Devs post a HECK of a lot, talk to the community a heck of a lot...although I know for certain I'd personally have the both of ya's on ignore by now.

That is one of the only thing we need! Well and a nemeisis ; )

Marvel Ultimate Alliance can do it, I think we can too! Though it would be pretty laggy : P But that is mostly if you have a team og Masterminds. : P

I know you all going to say it is bad and it never going to happen just like the Powers and Going Rouge lol.
Rogue. I should stop being amazed at how many people still typo that.

I think that probably covers it. You can have buddies with you. Its called teaming. Or being a Mastermind. Although then its less buddies and more 'cannonfodder'.

So...if you know this is going to get a general 'No' stamp from all and sundry...why bother with it?

    Invasion!

The NHU had a GM come into look at the base, when we...ah...broke it. Heh. The item limit and stability as it is at the moment didn't like our base makers creativity, and crashed. Had to revert back a few stages to get it all back.

what i think it should have been is having a few defenseive power in their secondaryies, i mean all da blaster secondaries are custom anyway, but half of them are full of stuff that is not of any use.

so i say give give da blaster scondaries a slight rework and put some defenses in there that would balence them with scrapper without haveing to alter dam output.
    /Cottage Rule Slaughter

It would be incredibly hard to do something like that, like it though I do, because of how many people would need to respec, reslot, rebuild entire characters. If something like that could happen, it would have to be a new AT.
  22. Sounds like a not bad idea. You still end up with the same results, just staggered at more palatable levels.
