Quote:Calm down.I haven't been kicked for KB either. Sure, I've had a few people bicker or whine when I use Gale or Shockwave and knocked a group off of an Ice Slick or Tar Patch another member was in the process of placing down (instead of using it near the wall I was knocking foes into). I've had people cry when I used Telekinetic Blast a few times and prissy Tankers tell me to take care of stuff I knocked around despite the fact I'm running Dispersion field on them and keeping them shielded.
But no, I've never been kicked.
HOWEVER...
The *INSTANT* I hear a teammate even *BEGIN* to insist I have this IO even if I don't want it or some prissy tank dictate that I play a certain way just because I don't, there will be hell to pay on these forums. I will link back to the posts in this thread with a bloody vengeance so you better delete these posts now or they'll be shoved back in your face when that time comes.
I know how to use KB and prefer it in some places although I can see the use of this in powers like Tornado or Lightning Storm, but that is a vast price to pay for having my other KB dictated by others more than it already is. -
Quote:This. Paragon really needs to hire a legit UI designer. The only thing I'm tired about the Paragon Market is the horrible interface that requires me to drill down three levels and flip four pages to find the item costume bundle that's either new or on sale. It makes the consignment house UI see like the pinnacle of UI design.
Also, if I was tired of this game I'd bail for awhile. But I'm not, so I haven't. If anything, the Paragon Market is pretty bamf. We've gotten loads more items, costumes, powers, content, and basically everything else that, if you had suggested any of it pre-Freedom, you'd be told it wouldn't fit into the schedule anytime within the foreseeable future. -

Quote:I wasn't meaning the idea so much as how our characters ICly would hear about said plot. Like, will there be a city-wide alert issued by Red-Havok for all able bodied heroes to help out while Phanto hires, blackmails, and convinces other villains to aid his scheme? Or would it be something more along the lines of we come up with our own reasons and series of events for how our characters got involved in the plot and the eventual battle? The idea of someone trying to repeat Darrin Wade's success to make a city wide psychic bomb is fairly non-SG specific and I'd assume any hero that hears about it would want to stop it, and any villain wanting to profit from it would try and do so, at least, I would think so.

Sounds good. I am a bit curious, though. Will there be something that will pull non-Challenger-related characters in, or should we come up with our own reasons for showing up?

Quote:lol u mad?Honestly, this "Freebie Friday" program doesn't serve its purpose as it has started out.
It's purpose is to get people interested in the Paragon Market, but the first day is so far a failure(definitely for me and likely for many others).
Why?
I was expecting something a little more interesting, especially the first time, than a single XP Booster that doesn't last all that long.
If it is going to always be "a single very short time consumable" or "one single costume piece that nobody has been buying otherwise" then I'm going to stop even bothering to check.
I certainly will not be looking at the rest of the market either when their "amazing deal" is only $1 or $1.50 because it sends the message that they're not very generous and greedy with the other prices that still remain much too high.
I would rather see permanent price drops, or at least much more frequent and decent sales, on the more desirable things that cost so much than a stupid "free baseball card in every cereal box" that costs them practically nothing and is worthless because it is, on top of being mass produced to the point of not even being worth collecting for later resale(in the case of the cereal baseball cards).
You want to entice people into the market? Offer something every week on sale that people really want for a very good deal, or offer something better for sale(ideally a permanent unlock or a 5 XP Booster pack and the like).
I'm not impressed or even interested currently, but I will claim it just to say "may as well take it" and continue ignoring the overpriced store. -
Also, from this game there's Swan, although her's may be more of a mantle instead of actual arm wings. Still, this is a pretty cool idea.
-
XP booster? Nice. I'll gladly welcome those for my alts.

This thread is lols
Which is sad, since it's a thread made by Dink :\ -
As a villain the story was eh. I dug the gameplay, but just could not get into the story. It starts kind of strong, but falls apart in Part 5. Picks back up in part 7, though, where Arachnos, Recluse, and the Patrons proved how bamf they are.
Blueside, though, the whole thing was just a mish mash of everyone screwing up and dropping the ball everywhere. It was just awful. And the big moment that was spoiled for us, where the mighty Statesman falls, involves the guy walking into an obvious trap, set by a greasy book nerd with a ponytail and trench coat, and dies like a total chump. Then immediately afterward, Psyche's killed off purely to make room for Yin, and it comes pretty much out of no where.
The maps were hella awesome, though, and I hope we get 'em in AE ASAP. And I did enjoy Rularuu getting exposure. That's about all I can say I legit liked about the SSA, though. -
Quote:I see it as bad writing. Devs want to give us a roadblock, a reason why we can't get more power or progress in a certain direction. So just have someone threaten and try to scare us if we go down that path.To paraphrase Han Solo, "I dunno, I got a pretty good imagination."
It's interesting - rather a number of NPC's have told us, at various times, "Do/Don't do this or you'll have to deal with me!". It seems like a pretty decent number of them have been... dealt with.
Might not be the best kind of threat to make, is all I'm saying.
All it does is tick players off, though :\ -
But they've been altered to the point where they aren't humans anymore. They are Rikti, an entirely new race. Therefore, maybe they received a new well because of this.

GG actually has a point here. Dominatrix isn't good, and I doubt she ever will be. She's selfish and smart. She's realized she's playing on the losing team, so she's kissing up with the winning team by trying to help out in Primal Earth so that the Primals will be more accepting of her and she won't spend all her time locked up or dead once the war's over.

Quote:S'why I said "potential" and "we've heard".Well again, it's only a matter of 'he said she said' atm. We don't actually know any truth to the Dream Doctor's claims. I'm not saying that he's lying, but given that this does involve time travel it's possible that the timelines the Doctor has witnessed aren't the ones the Menders are from.
For all we know, Silos may have recruited them before they became evil or even 'mended' their timeline to change them. Or it's all true but there is information the Doctor doesn't know about (and thus we don't know).
We just don't know yet. All we've got is his word and our encounters with the individual menders. Tesseract I can totally believe. Lazarus though seems much more amiable and at least somewhat more stable than the Doctor implies. -
Quote:I think the Mender's potential crimes are far more than just breaking time travel rules for science. We've heard that Twilight's Son sold out his entire race to the Battalion, causing them to be used as a source of fuel, for example. I'd rather work with some uncaring mercenary if genocidal backstabber is my alternative.Fair enough. As mentioned, I haven't played DA (and am not likely to any time soon), so I haven't seen said justification. I'm not sure "unrepentant nazi murder-fiend" pales in comparison to "probably broke at least 73 rules of time travel FOR SCIENCE!", though.

Are you asking to show off some of our more silver age characters, or to toss you ideas for your costumes? Or both? I don't want to post pictures if that's not what you want.

I was under the impression the Thursday thing is just one time, so this feature can be tested.
Also, lol complainers. -
Arachnos is probably one of my favorite organizations in this game.
Hail Lawd Recluse! -

Quote:This. Please make these locations actual places we can go to. There aren't enough cool buildings to walk into throughout the City and Isles. Let folks walk into the AP/Mercy movie theaters and hang out in that, if that isn't already the plan. Give us some casinos, make the Coliseum a PvP map, and please give these maps to us in AE.Let me know what servitude I have to sell myself into to get that movie theatre added as a permanent place we can walk into (a la the Golden Giza). I will give backrubs to everyone working at PS, bake brownies for a month, whatever it takes.
Same thing goes for the Colosseum and the new Casino.
