    I might need to bind /bug report to a key when I get into Beta.
    Nothing makes me throw a cerebro glitch like a screamingly obvious bug.
  2. Well yeah, they can't really spec things for higher than the top of the range, can they? That'd require time travel power.
    Or this guy as a Dev;

  3. Because it's subject to change until its actually released.
  4. Having tried COs trial version, this is my opinion;

    Pro's:

    -Options. Lots of. Some of them good. I like the sheer ammount of *decent* armour and tech equipment they had. Along with the holsters band back details. Honest to god back details!

    -Stances. Not tons, but it was nice to switch them around a bit. Just switching from Heroic to Average on the female model made me think a bit more of it.

    -Muscle tone slider. I did like this a lot. Not *all* of my characters are meant to be totally ripped. My Vanguard affiliated sniper is tough, but he's not built like Bruce Lee. It looks horrible. The muscle slider was a nice little touch.

    Assymetry: That was nice. More uniqeness = a good thing.

    Cons;

    -Layout. Oh. God. The. Rats. Whoever laid out the CO costume creator was...different, shall we say? It hurt my eyes, offended my brain, and bamboozled my sensibilities. Ours is, frankly, superior. The layout in CoX is simple and easy to use. This enough chalked up a whole row of Con points on its own.

    -Style. This one is pure opinion here. I hate the graphics style. I really do. It just doesn't do it for me.

    Thats just the CC. I didn't like CO as a whole from what I saw, is all I will say. But there are things that would work really well over here if adapted to look as good as the rest of the CityOf stuff.

    ...No more club-feet boots! I hate the old boots with a passion! >_<
  5. I'd find my builds a lot easier to make, without nearly always having to cram in swift, health, stamin at 16, 18, 20, just so I can actually function.

    Quote:
    I honestly think that learning to manage your Blue Bar is as important as learning to manage your Green Bar. Many of my lowbie characters stop to use Rest because their Health is low, not because their Endurance is low. I can't support the many suggestions that have come up to eliminate the need to build Stamina into characters or to make Endurance Recovery greater in the lower levels. If that happens, why not just go ahead and give all characters endless HP to go with their now endless Endurance?
    See, this always irks me. People aren *not* asking for 'limitless endurance'. I know I've suggested many times that endurance be increased across the board, for the simple reason;
    Without IO builds or Stamina, it is night impossible for most (Not all, but most) people to get a character to function after level 20. There are exceptions; Regen, Willpower, MMs and Defenders. Certain other sets maybe, but I've not found any personally.

    But, without fail, and it doesnt matter what damn slotting I give them, or how I manage the power usage, but every character so far I've played has hit the 'Stamina Gulch' at level 14-20. Its where you are out of end every other, if not every, fight. And it is not fun.

    An Arch Nemesis

Radubadu's desire for randomness in implementation brings up another point. I realize this is a seeming contradiction, but I want to be able to control the randomness. How about a contact similar to the contact that allows you to set your difficulty, where they ask you the following questions at any time:

    1. Do you want to change the appearance/gender/powersets/dialog of your Arch Nemesis? Yes/No (Selecting "yes" would take you to a character creation screen)
    2. Do you want your Arch Nemesis to attack you randomly in missions? Yes/No
    3. Do you want your Arch Nemesis to attack you randomly while on teams? Yes/No
    4. Do you want your Arch Nemesis to randomly ambush you while outside of mission instances? Yes/No

    And so on.

    Being attacked at random by an Arch Nemesis is fun...if that's what you want at the time, on that particular character. Being able to control the degree of randomness would keep it fun AND prevent it from becoming a major PITA when you want consistancy. If I don't really want an Arch Nemesis for a particular character, having one that pops up randomly would be like having an annoying cousin that keeps popping over at your house for dinner. And as always, customization is key, and tweaking your Arch Nemesis should be encouraged at any point in your character's development.

    Otherwise, this feature would get on my nerves pretty quickly. Do it right, or don't bother--half baked implementation would make using the AE as an alternative much more attractive.
    I like this.
    However;

    No to random attack outside when on teams.
    Why? Well, for one thing, Zone debt is higher than mission debt. Getting ganked by someones silly made Nemesis en-route to the mission doesnt sound like fun. Random ambushes outside are ok when they are small groups of minions and stuff (tailor mish, etc) Others? Not so.

    T'be honest, the mechanics for this are already in-game. They use it in Kheldians with Shadow Cysts and Void Stalkers/Quantums. Replace a part of the mob with an EB. Or maybe replace one random middle/back mob with the EB and their selected minion group.

    I would say no to AV level Nemeses, simply for balance sakes.
  7. Gngngng...

    Well, I know what I'm saving up for in future. One of the higher Nvidia cards. And whatever else I need to slap on the rig to make it work.

    Damn you, obsessive gaming! /e shakefist

    Aye, I edited my post as suddenly remember 'Hey, I needed someone to actually BUILD my rig for me..why am I acting like I know again?'
  9. If you can afford to splash out a bit more, then maybe aim a bit higher in the 2-- range. Posi said that the GTX 280 onwards would give the better results.
    Again, it also depends on the rest of the rig. And I dont know enough about Computers to hazard more than a sketchy guess =P

    I didn't know Bleedman played CityOf! Oo

  11. Ah, did not know that.
    My drones and P-bots have BETA and GAMMA as their names, but with a number for each one by default. OMEGA 1 is what I used for the Assault. I knew about sometimes getting 'OMEGA 1 - dead, OMEGA 12' when re-summoning. But never knew about that other zoning issue.
  12. This is true. I did have him as an Invul/EM tanker at 50, but he was draining endurance like no-ones business, and he just wasn't performing like he used to.

    I think I will dual build him, but Set the defensive build, for the IO +def bonueses I can get out of him, and leave the more offensive build as a casual 'pick up and hit' vanilla build.
  13. /Unsigned, but only because it should be added onto the normal game. Three slots is nice, yes. But sometimes, especially when you run into a slew of fedex and introduction missions, things get a bit crowded.
  14. Zoning pets is still bugged. Sometimes you lose control of your pets, while they are still spawned. Re-zone, and it should fix it. But yes, known bug IIRC
  15. I say make a few 'official' posters and stuff and post them on the website.

    And then let the fanbase print them out and sticky them up in places.
    Take a load printed to pamphlet size and ask the local game store if they mind just leaving them on the side, or stand by the door (hell, bring a chair)
    Stick em by bus stops; people read any old carp when they are sat, bored, waiting for the 18:58.

    If they did slow things down, then go them. With the earlier iteration, you'd be hard pressed to find a team that could eliminate the ambush waves before the new ones arrived. Yes, it had that 'epic battle' feel, but on a regular team, it was very common to have deaths or even team wipes, followed by a hard fought battle back to the boss through the waves and waves of mobs, with little heads up that this was going to be what the team faced. This doesn't really follow the way all the rest of the game goes, with the exception of some AE content.
    ^This

    On our first run of the BSF, we got faceplanted by the sudden, unending influx of mobs.
    We all respawned and came back...and they came to US. We had to literally crawl back up the tunnel, wading through a sea of dead Ubermench...and then found that the MM power to stop his Godmode was bugged... and we failed. Yaaay.

    So no. Endless ambushes are not fun. Endless ambushes that STACK with one another are even less fun.
    Leave it as it is now, please.
  20. Upgrade in-game music first. Ambient music! Not the stuff that trails off we have atm.
  21. Just wondering which of two builds to go for. Given how appaling I am at working the markets, or holding onto any ammount of inf for very long, I dont think dual building is a viable option except in the very long term.

    The offensive build has just Primary and Seoncadry, along with fitness, Energy mastery and flight pool. Geared towards mashing stuff while still being quite tough;

  22. No thanks. That part of the SF was not Fun. It was a case of 'Oh, look, gank them!'
  23. Sam, I think you just hit level 51 Princess Monoke AND Robot Chicken 'This! Is! SPARTA!' in one go? Fantastic.

    However, in all seriousness, I concur.
    You do know that the United States as a whole spends more on 'explicit magazines' (pr0n) in a single year than the entire national debt of sub-saharran Africa?
    And simply having more costume options is deemed bad? Uh-huh...God Bless, etc etc
