  1. Soulbound is a proc. It checks when the pet it's slotted into attacks with a damaging power. (Pets attacking with a power that does no damage do not check.)
  2. It looks like the first portal's torches are all offset by a couple "feet" (or whatever fake measurement this game uses because it's certainly not legit feet/yards/miles!), simply a misplacement of geometry. They look like the same configuration; it's just their position makes them look off because they don't match the other samey-samey ones.
  3. I updated the wiki page with the license interactions discussion here. I'm still in the process of finding a concise way to document the preemie/VIP/preemie server slot shuffle, but it will also be added before the end of the night.

EDIT: I updated it again to include the Preem/VIP switch and to more specifically talk about the difference between global and server slots.

  7. I wanted to post this separately, because I find this comment slightly hysterical.

We have two direct competitors, actually, and every single video game (both MMO and not, PC and console and handheld) out there is an indirect competitor. If someone is playing a game, they're not going to load up a second game to play it at the same time. At best they will divide their game time between the two (or more) games, which - again - means competition.
  8. The devs have been up front since before Freedom even launched that subs are their main attractions, and the fact that you can play as a freebie/preemie is just their way of giving you an extended trial of the game with the option of unlocking stuff with money.

The Incarnates was very deliberately chosen to remain a sub feature. There are *VERY FEW* things in the game that can only be done if you have a sub. In fact, I think Exalted server, Incarnates, creating/modding global channels, and the SG registrar are the only things in-game that are restricted to subs (and folks who are mods as a VIP and drop to preemie keep their mod status!).

Why do people seem to have this blind spot for the fact that almost nothing in this game is out of reach of preemies?

VIPs needing to pay for some (NOT ALL!) power sets is obviously going to happen since they're putting out power sets about four times as fast as they used to. The only way for them to do that is for some of them to be pay-for-all sets. VIPs get 400-550 points per month to spend as they see fit. That's only two months of saving to get a free power set.
  9. Yeah, now that I'm sitting on enough PP to feel the burn in my pocket, I *really* want to unlock some stuff for use if I drop to Preemie, like the SSA1 package, and VIP powersets when they're on sale.

I don't give two squats about protecting idiots from parting with their money if they buy something they already have unlocked via VIP. Make it a blatant popup if you have to, but let me buy it anyway!

WW is not a social space. It's a "stand around talking to no one because a gigantic UI is covering everything on your screen and you're hunting for the last three pieces of salvage to finalize your fancy IO build, then leave when you're done" space. On no server is WW, or has WW ever been, a place to stand around chatting with random passersby. Sorry, Goat.

EDIT: Also, it's a terrible inf sink because in order to be useful, it would need to be bigger; as you've suggested it, a level 50 kills one minion and fuels enough inf for like 300+ transactions. Useless. If it were a useful inf sink amount, people would complain about double dipping, and rightfully so, since you have to put in so much money/time just to get access to the slash command.
  11. Not a good inf sink, and contrary to why we were given /ah in the first place, and also WW is not a social space......

    No all around.

Good luck on your next suggestion.

Just FYI, it's less than $500.

You need 34 tokens to start slotting in T9VIP. You need 37 tokens to fully slot out a T9 costume set.

Everyone starts with a token. A VIP will have one more token by the end of their month, so that's two tokens. We COULD value their month at the highest possible dollar value, $20 for the game card (which are ridiculously hard to find now) - more likely $15 for a standard retail month.

Buying points the first time gets you one token, that's three total. Buying the $100 bundle gets you 8 tokens, for 11. Buy the $100 bundle three more times for 24 more tokens, that brings you up to 35 tokens. Buy the $15 bundle twice for two more tokens and a goodly portion toward another token.

This gets you to T9 and three tokens socketed in for a full T9VIP costume set.

    $15 VIP month
    $100 bundle x4
    $15 bundle x2
= $445, not "over $500". A considerable savings. Still a very large amount to spend in one sitting, but MUCH lower than your exaggeration. Minus $30 if all you're doing is getting to T9 (technically, you will be T9 with a leftover token).

And this is only true for a brand new player, because players with old accounts will be higher up the reward tree.
  15. I got the first enhancement tray upgrade with my monthly pp. So my characters just gained ten enhancement spaces at no extra cost to me. Sounds good! If they discount it further, I might even get the second upgrade...800pp would be mighty tempting.

Then I spent money on PP for the first time since Freedom dropped, and got four recipe upgrades (5 slots for $5, each)...that's a dollar a slot, spread across a hundred characters...ridiculously good deal.

And now I have more PP left over than I know what to do with. Once they go on sale, I might even think about getting SJ and TW.

Not every TF can be duo'd, let alone solo'd. There are some with simul-clicks, such as the Hollows trial and one of the Shadow Shard TFs.

    Nope. WAD *and* WAI.
  20. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Account - differences between accounts. VIPs pay a monthly subscription. Free/Premium users do not pay any monthly subscription.

Anything you actively unlock will remain unlocked (via Paragon Points, Reward Tokens, etc.)

Note that you can't use the starter kit if you're using your old City account, since the starter kit can only be used on accounts that have NEVER had money spent on them, ever, including old subs or box codes. If you started a new account to play, you'll be OK with the starter kit.

I would likely get this on every one of my characters. I love Paragon Protectors way beyond reason. I really have no idea why I do, either; they're not very compelling, to be honest. I love 'em anyway.
  22. All weapon sets (all of them, even if they don't use a special standing animation) use a "mode" on the back end, which is why weapon redraw exists. Powers outside of a weapon set do not function within that "mode", and so they put away the weapon. This is why using two weapon/weapon attacks doesn't require redraw but weapon/pool or weapon/heal or weapon/armor does.

Note I've said nothing about the length of time spent redrawing, and neither supported nor opposed your suggestion. Just giving background details.

I wouldn't mind having the creaseless option, but I doubt it's going to happen.
Nope, the difference was less dramatic. The metallic version used to be a "manually" reflective costume set, in that it didn't actually reflect the world around the character, it used cheating pretend to reflect surroundings. It still had the lines.
  24. Not very uber. My main is emp/archery. It's practically the antithesis of uber. Because I don't powergame, her build is still amost entirely HOs from before Inventions dropped. I haven't done anything with Incarnates on her except run Ramiel's arc (I think she has one shard from drops...one, singular). She still stands up well because she's built to support, not to be main damage. (She's got all of her attacks but one, plus she took and USES Total Focus from Power Mastery. Don't worry; she's not THAT kind of emp.)

My secondary character is an IO'd out claws/regen scrapper. I've taken Judgement to T3 on her, but otherwise still low-end Incarnates (I am not a fan of the slow solo progression). She's pretty awesome even without Incarnates.
