Quote:Why not all three?Ninja ALREADY have enough stuff, what with the regular ninja costume pieces, several powersets(Katana/Ninja Blade, Weapons Mastery for Scrappers, Ninjas for Masterminds and Ninjitsu), and the Martial Arts Super Booster(with Ninja Run power, Katana and Dual Blades customization and MORE ninja costume pieces). Meanwhile, pirates just have the eyepatches, 3 or 4 hats, hook, peg leg, flintlocks for Dual Pistols, and the Nemesis rifles that you can only get by killing 100 Fake Nemeses that only start spawning at level 40. Swashbuckling Assault should have first priority.
Sounds like a fair compromise to me

Given how fast the first three attacks are on archery, and the increased damage of burning arrow, I'd say it's all WAI

Quote:I'm gonna take issue with that part, J_S, for a few reasons.I'm fairly sure the player behind that avatar does not understand that Rogues should be able to do HeroSide task forces and get merits for those Task Forces in the upcoming Going Rogue expansion.
To make sure I don't ramble on (like usual) I'll list them;
1) GR is paid for and, thus, optional content. Making it 'fair' based around something not everyone will have is not right.
2) Not everyone will want to go Rogue with their Villains. I know a number of mine who won't be, for concept reasons.
3) Why not give Villains *more* Taskforces? Apart from a few horribly un-needed hunts in, say, the Renault SF, SFs are generally a lot less 'broken' then the TFs are. Maybe with a few that aren't tied to Arachnos.
Just my observations. Im all up for old history and missions being put in Ouro or Midnighters, though. -
Hollows also doesn't have one of the blue/white clad cads.
Either that, or, y'know, do away with them entirely?
Put them under the missions drop-down as a difficulty setting menu. That way you can edit the difficulty whereever the heck you are, cut down on unnecessary travel, and can include it in the Tutorial, and cut out that brand of Fed-ex missions.
Three birds with one stone sounds good to me. -
Quote:Doesn't sound too bad.If you wanted an "animal melee" set... I would think it's not too far fetched.
There's plenty of super heroes that use animal powers. From just having claws/teeth to using a spirit or totem animal/s.
Make a set that caters to all of that.
Shouldn't be too hard. The way wings(and soon tails) were implemented they move based on what animation you're doing at the time. You just have to add in some triggers in the attacks.
Make the whole set have the effect of... say, a glowing replica of the body part you're using to attack. "Bear Maul" makes big paws appear over your hands. "Alligator snap" makes teeth/head. Then you just add in a wing and tail power that generate glowing wings/tails.
The basic implication being that it's the "spirit" of the animal that is attacking. Or that you're mimicking their movements. But if you allow for power customization... you just have to give us the option of turning off the "totem" effect and we're just left with basic animal-like attacks. More to the point, remove the effect from a wing/tail attack. And if you have the correct body part, it will appear to do the attack it self.
That makes sense, right?
A general 'Brawling/Mauling' set would be good, that could double up as street fighting, or dirty fighting.
Etc

Quote:I might be daft, but maybe I can hope they would balance MM personal attacks.Does make me think though: not many people take MM attacks outside of the cool factor (which will soon become obsolete come DP), so if whips are going to be a defining trait of Demon Summoning, does that mean we might be seeing a pet set that trades some pet damage in return for increased personal MM damage/attacks?
Seriously the endurance cost for what you get out of MM attacks is criminal, especially on Thugs. I had to respec out of Empty clips instantly, because of how appalling it was. And this was with SOs and Stamina, might I add.
My namesake MM had a pulse rifle attack until his last respec, partly because the build called for it, and because I have the Nem staff to fill in, and the bots themselves can do so much damage now, and he's so hard to kill that I opted to take other stuff instead. -

Quote:This, really.WS(s) are fine, and have been. My greater concern is that the PB does need to be looked at still. But that is not here or now
this is he i17 thread
If nothing else, for the love of pete get RID of the damn chime sound after EVERY attack! When putting shields on is one thing, but one of the reasons I actually deleted my PB was because the sound pitch was giving me a damn migraine! Not good! ): -
Couldn't have put it better myself, J_S. Seriously, I tend to just get narked, which is probably a bad reaction ^^;
Understood, NM, and I do know where that's coming from. I watch a couple of really talented artists on the art site FurAffinity. I stick solidly to posting on deviantArt though, becase the FA crowd genuinely unsettles me.
This is the reason I always defend my art as 'anthro art' and not furry, because of the mass misconception it all brings with it. But its the same misconception as 'OMG, all RPs do is ERP!' or 'OMG, all furries are freaks!' or 'OMG, all PvPers are horrible and obnoxious trolls!'
All of which are untrue. (I have 2/3 there, but a few friends are quite solid PvPers and are perfectly nice people.)
All groups have their darksides, I guess.

Slightly off-topic, but I was mentioning City Of to friends at Uni over the past few days.
One is a W:AoR fan, and I may try the trial version, while she said she'd give CityOf a go, mainly because she had never heard of it.
A couple of people said 'Oh, that's still going?'
Can we please have some noticeable marketing for the game? Paper ads in comic-books, hells, go to google ads and just make a few banners. It really is a shame that CoX is still so unheard of, despire being such a solid game.
On-topic again.
Well...
Gimme?

Quote:Because?I love Double P quite a bit. She has an unpopular opinion. She voiced it. Y'all move on. Shoo now and talk about how much you like it.
Edit: The more I read your post, the more my responses boil down to "How dare you."
Its all opinion and subjective anyway. -
Decent customisation is in the pipeline. Id rather have something thats had time and TLC put into it, not a half-effort.
-
I had the exact same thought, however.
I advocate actually putting him on the damn map, rather than forcing you to try and find him. My friend who was sking me at the time had to lead me there so I could level.
Really silly little thing that, IMO. -
Quote:General crashing facepalmComplains about cliques and how if you don't agree with them then they gang up on you and the OP shouldn't be downhearted by these terrible cliques prefering to believe that there is a conspiracy rather than people independently reaching the same conclusion; vis a vis the OP's rant was pointless, self-obsessive and plain wrong.
Conveniently omits any mention of who is in the clique or indeed what the clique is while implying that anyone not agreeing with them is obviously in this conspiratorial clique.
[Insert Picture Here] -
Quote:It's already been stated that the whip is the MMs personal attack. So *shrug* Its not really our problem if people want to gimp themselves horribly by going petless.I hope the MM's attack from Demon Summoning is Fire Blast and not Whip Attack. If it's Whip Attack, well, then we're going to have the same problem with Thug MMs where MMs take the attacks simply because of the uniqueness of the attack. We'll wind up with tons of Whip Petless MMs.
I don't want to have to choose between a cool Whip Attack or a Pet on a MM; nor have to choose between Whip Attack or a Secondary power. -
Quote:Do want.Traditionalist (Hero) and Restructurist/Homeworlder (Villain) Rikti should be the next epic archetypes IMHO. That way, it would balance out both sides with a total of 3 epic archetypes without blatantly copying something from another IP.
Also, the City of Heroes Universe has more than enough stuff to be getting on with that needs fleshing out.
'Mirror Universes' have been around since comic books started, and science or whoever came up with different dimensions.
The Lantern Corps are, however, DC specific. -
Quote:I'm sorry but, what?Im so on the fence here.
Okay, animated tails. Good.
Bushy animated tails.. Ok.
Proliferation of "furry" RP'ers... not so good.
This could go tragically wrong.
There is no logic behind this. If people are really that 'hardcore' about it, they'll already be in game. Not having costume pieces because 'Zomg, furries be stealin mah brains' makes about as much sense as letting Jack Emmert back on the Dev team. As lead Dev. And giving him a pay rise.
I'd be playing 'furry' characters already if the costume pieces that related to anthromorphic characters weren't so bloody awful. I know a few others who would as well. The ones I know are perfectly good RPers, so I dont know what tripe you ran into to have this illogical thing against RP.
Christ. It's called an MMORPG for a reason. It makes my cerebrals glitch out, it really does... -
