Only it's impossible to ask to not be shielded now.
It's a giant AoE buff. We're stuck with it now no matter what. Now, more than ever there should be an option to drop a buff on us.
I'd be in favor of this option even if it meant dropping the buff numbers as well. I can't stand Ice Shields and I will go out of my way not to get that ugly, annoying, distracting shield. -
An update! Woohoo!
A lot of the replies to this thread have actually been through PM or someone sending a tell in-game. As such, I've been looking at a lot of SGs and just put in an application to one of them.
So we'll see what happens.
For anyone that gave me a reply, I greatly appreciate your suggestions. I really love Virtue and this is one of those reasons why! -
Fairly certain this one's new too. At least... I just noticed it yesterday.

It's funny, I really never realized how close he is to Red Arrow until I saw him in that new Young Justice cartoon. And he didn't originally start out anything like him, aside from the arrows. He used to have a green costume that looked quite different. He just ended up transforming over the years into what he is now.

Hey Virtue!
So, a few of you have seen one of my characters, Trickshot Kid about the city.
Well, I'm looking to finally get him into an RPSG. But I'm not sure which group to look into.
Depending on the SG theme, he may not fit everywhere, so I'm going to ask you, YES YOU!
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
He's actually one of my oldest characters on Virtue, ironically being one of the youngest in-character. :P He's seventeen years old and mostly uses a bow and arrows, but he's also got a little magic in him. He's also fairly modern, but at the same time he has pretty classic ties thanks to his magical "abilities".
I'm not really decided between a specific themed RPSG (Teenage, Magic, Natural, etc) or a general RPSG. As long as it might fit him, and vice versa.
Anyway! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Same here. Lost Connection to DBserver.
So, who's going to create the villain 'DBserver'? -
People are unhappy with this? Really?
Hah. I guess teh interwebs never really is happy.
I, for one, will enjoy my new powers such as Conserve Power, Aim, PowerBuild Up, and more. -
You've taken a perfectly nice thread and ruined it! RUINED IT!..... I hope you're happy.

Okay. As we all know, the devs are attempting to get several NPC costume parts available to players, which is awesome. And as the devs seem to love to have an in-game reason for everyone, a few of us came up with an idea.
The Arbiter Fabulous Task Force!
Arby Fab (not a dev) has done a lot for us in game, so maybe it's time to give back!
This TF would involve contacting the Arbiter in Pocket D, to allow both heroes and villains to partake, and because it's his native habitat ( ), and use the giant portals to transport to missions.
Each mission will involve taking on an NPC big wig to obtain his or her group's costume parts for the Arbiter to mass produce for everyone.
Now, the little details are unknown save for the fact that the final mission should be to obtain Sunstorm's Kheldian sash!

The second he said "It only goes foward" the first thing in my mind was "Oh great, a cop out where time just restarts itself". Guess I should trust that little voice in my head more often.

Quote:This..... And the few that are actually better I have near 0 interest in beyond, "hey that's cool!"
You initially passed it off as fact that CoH was superior in that.
Quote:Graphic wise, the game looks better than just about any other MMO and does so authentically and not using some crappy trick.
CoH really does look better than MMOs in its own age range. But plenty more have been released since then.
That seems to be something that CoH has a firm grasp upon: Updating their characters. Or at least, giving us newer options to pick out of the older ones. It keeps it all fresh, but it's a double edged sword and makes Praetoria (or what we've seen of it) look much more updated than our current game. (A problem that I think will quickly become evident when people step out of the zone at level 20 and into Paragon/The Isles, but that's another discussion)
edit: I suppose my point is that CoH's engine is quite capable of pushing out really nice graphics. The problem is that as we move forward with the new graphics, the old ones that aren't updated look painfully outdated now when they're all but showcased right next to current-tech.
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, and hey, I love CoH too. But we need to be honest about what CoH shares the market with. -
Quote:I agree with most of your points, but these two are just not true. It's like you're looking through rose tinted glasses at CoH.Customization, CoH is still in the top

Yes, CoH is a very high quality product, but it's showing its age. Heavily.
You may not like the artistic design of CO, but it has more diverse options to go with. I'll be the first to say that I don't play CO at all regularly, I don't find it quite that fun in recent time, but the fact's still true that it has more options over CoH. Even that new APB game has customization that far outmatches CoH or CO.
And, honestly, better graphics than any other MMO? Even with ultra mode, those are some rosey glasses... -
This would have captured the same feel without mucking up the Tim timeline.
I really do enjoy that costume, very much so that I was just happy to SEE it, but I agree that that should not have been on Jason.
It's both an insult to Tim and Kon. -

Had me a nice viewing as well.
Much more action-y than I thought it was going to be, but wow, it was awesome.
And very... very... violent. o__o -
It's apparently already on the Playstation Network for a rental. HD $6, SD $4

Quote:Q: How many Nemesis Automatons does ... Lord Nemesis is watching you, Steelclaw ... and then I went home after work, that report took days to finish.
Q: How many Nemesis Soldiers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Eight one to locate a light bulb, one to inform an unsuspecting hero of a wave of darkness sweeping over the city, one to play a hapless hostage to confirm the story, one to stash the bulb in an enemy warehouse, one to tip off the hero about the item of power that can push back the darkness in a warehouse, one to drop hints about the altar of darkness the item of power must be inserted into to stop the wave of darkness, one to disguise the lamp as an altar and (finally) one to gloat and tell the hero hes been duped. -
My life is complete with this soundtrack. I... love... it.
I want its babies. -
I always assumed putting 'RP' in your bio was a signal that you DO RP, not that you ARE RP'ing.
It's not so much "RPers RP" as "RPers cross here".
It's just a flag so you can more easily tell where the RPers are.
I always but this tag in my bio, and frankly, I never RP in random teams (PuGs), but it's a clue that others can come to me later and RP with me. Or know that if I'm talking a little strangely, it's because I'm RPing and people won't simply assume that I have a brain tumor. -
They're starting to do so much press on Facebook that I'm left sort of wondering why they continue to pay/host CityOfHeroes.com

Glorious happy birthday to you, you pink minx!
Your present is in the mail, but the postal service MAY have damaged it. Or they may have forgotten it didn't exist. I don't know.
But I'll send you some love too, just in case! -
