Inc gave up on PvP and is actually leveling a character through content, turning off XP when necessary to finish arcs.

Well, AE in Atlas Park was definitely a really poor idea. AE's should be strategically placed in hazard zones so that you have to meet a minimum level to get in or something. Until then, i'll keep Pling lowbies until they nerf it.

I wish they just removed inactive globals for public channels only. That would make more sense. It is silly to start new channels and try and get people to migrate. Especially when those old ones are suiting people just fine. Even if half of the people in a full channel are semi active...that's a pretty damn good channel.

Please increase the amount of handles allowed in the public global channels. Playing on Freedom, and the well known channels are all booked.

First off, I don't recall ever saying this...and I seriously doubt I would say anything like 'minimal effort'.

Having things like wings or auras carry over into Granite Armor is possible, much in the same way that seeing mankind one day walk on the surface of Mars is possible. However, as I mentioned in the response to your PM, it's not currently supported.

We do support persisting custom weapons--which are as much a costume piece as wings and auras--into Granite Armor mainly because we kind of had to. But that is a hardcoded exception. I don't know if the same kind of exception could be made for Wings and Auras (it seems to me that it could) but I don't know that for a fact and I don't know what the ramifications of doing so would be.

As others have pointed out, turning on Granite Armor actually functions by changing your entire costume into the 'costume' of an NPC. That is an attribute of the power itself, even outside of the scripts associated with powers that define animations or visual effects. Granite Armor, Dwarf Form, and Nova form are pretty unique in this regard.

Also, this has more to do with how Noobish people are gaining tons of levels in AE and don't know how to play the rest of the game. So, it probably isn't all farming anyway.

Also, Moderator 8 edited someones post in this thread, thus has probably read all of it. I'm sure the entire thing would have been locked or moved by now. Thank you for your participation and insight. If you are truly not interested in what is being discussed here, you can very simply ignore the thread, or just report it. I do see your point. Bad players will always just be bad players. However, it is so incredibly easy to gain levels using MA, i don't think its far off to say that many of these n00bs before MA may now have higher level characters because of it, which in turn gives them more powers at their disposal, making them look even worse than ever. You guys are right, many of these people would be just as bad without MA, but now we just have more of the idiots with access to higher level content. Of course a lot of them had that access anyway. Either way, ill just have to be more careful who i team with. That's all.

My OP was looking for Task forces, not AE

Some of you aren't reading the posts. The people i'm complaining about admitted their gaming experience consisted of AE after they started whining they weren't getting XP on a TF they exemplared for. Furthermore they did not know what merits were, only tickets.

My posts are only a reflection on my experience, and just raising a question that it be cool if ppl who run AE for personal gain be a little more conscientious of who they bring.

This thread isn't about how to correctly form a team or a TF.

You are very right, anytime I have run TF's where they were planned in advanced ran smoothly. It was a spur of the moment thing. Only reason i brought up MA was because these people specifically mentioned after about 30 minutes that's what they had been doing the whole time. All in all, we got the TF done, so no complaint there. I was just surprised to actually see the stereotypical n00b that pled with no knowledge of the game. People say it all the time, and its not the first post about such behavior. It is just the first time that ever happened to me, especially because i have Pled often in my tenure.

Well, that is not necessarily true. I don't know that many players on Freedom. I filled all my slots on another server and moved to Freedom only about a month ago. I used the search function to build my team. I found a few people that were looking for missions or TFs, and started with them. I figured they knew how to use search, so they can't be that bad and are at least interested in what i was planning to run. I think i found 2 ppl via bcast, and they turned out to be good players. So, 3/6 players i found in search, quit 45 mins the way through.

When building a team for a TF, you want to get started as quick as you can, knowing it can take a couple hours. Kinda hard to screen out the n00bs. However, i will agree you'll find out fast (first mission) how its going to go with them.

Don't get me wrong. I love PLing, farming, and IO'ing out my characters. I don't RP, i don't like telling anyone how to play there game. I just thought id say maybe those of us farmers out there can take a little more care in who we invite to our teams.

Last night i did a synapse TF on Freedom. A pretty well rounded team, balanced, and pretty fluent in terms of moving along at a good pace. Well, 8 people started, only 5 finished. We went down to 5 after about 45 mins. Players that were invited to a TF, who knew there were being invited to a TF that were going to be exemplared down to level 20, had no idea why they were getting no XP, and didn't even know the benefit of the task force commander accolade and 50 or so merits you get upon completion.

It's unbelievable what people get themselves into, with no regard for the team or task at hand.

I hate to blame AE, but it's hard not too.

So, all i am saying is....don't pl with the n00bs, they are probably leaching in your farms anyway.

Farming is not exploiting. Rare items require repeating content over and over. It doesn't matter if you are running Task Forces or the same mission over and over again. Blame me all you want, but i don't PL people who don't know the game and i don't use exploits. I simply spawn big missions and kill a lot of bad guys, just like everyone else. Maybe "blaming AE" wasn't the right choice of wording. Simply put, i hope players who do farm/pl etc give a second thought to bringing in somebody who doesn't know the game well enough just because they needed to pad the mission, get an extra body etc.

Its not a disguise at all. Its black and white. I have always been all about finding shortcuts, alleviating the grind etc. Ask anyone who knows me. Hell i was a leader of one of the best PvP SG's in the game a couple years ago. Do you think we PvE'd our toons? hell no. However, coming from that perspective of seeing the merits of power-gaming to find my brand of fun and that of my friends, I surprised myself that it bothered me how ignorant players could be that have high enough level characters not knowing very basic things that every player should be aware of by level 20.

I am not asking you to change your behavior and i am certainly not TELLING you who to PL. Read the words MAYBE, and how it applies that i hope that people take a second look at who they invite along and realize the implications it may have. Basically it is my way of saying...wow i just realized that i actually had a problem with something that i never had a problem with before.

well i guess ill try it out at least until i can get into the larger populated one.

I'm sure its not all attributed to AE, but in this particular instance i can say 2/3 of the players in question were lurking AE from what they were talking about and expecting. 1 of the guys wanted to go to bed, and was foolish to start a TF knowing he wanted to go to bed in 45 mins. So, idiots will still be idiots, no matter what.

hehe, that's a good point. Unfortunately its one of few servers where finding a team isn't a problem. Playing on Freedom now is as active as playing on Champion 4 -1/2 years ago.

what the [censored] are you talking about. I don't think you read my post clearly.

I PL my alt characters, I farm for salvage and receipes, typically within my SG or close friends who have played the game a long time. What i am saying is these people on my TF had toons ranging from 25-50, and didn't know what a TF was because they spent nearly their entire gaming experience in Atlas Park.

I'm not telling people not to do it, i just wish those of us who do farm, take into consideration that some ppl are very new to the game and don't know their [censored] from their elbow, and MAYBE its a good idea to not invite those kind of people to the teams. Pretty much, a rally call for using our better judgment when inviting random people.

Recently tried joining freedom tfs and freedom badge in order to network a bit to get some task force teams going. Well, both channels have reached capacity. Any backups that are similar that have a good contingent of players? Anybody with alt accounts in the channel that would be willing to make some room?
