Increase Global Channel Size
There's a limit? Never even knew that, are you sure?

yessir, says unable to join channel, channel is at full capacity.
RadioFreedom had to deal with this issue (mostly that years of old lapsed accounts were clogging the channel) by creating a new channel and migrating to it.

I belong to a few virtue channels that deal with the same problems. Many join and they fill eventually each year, but as the year progresses many also go MIA but take up channel space, so new versions of those channels get made so that new members (hopefully ones that will participate) can join. Virtuebadges09, Virtue LFG Alpha, VU2009, etc.

Holy cow that's a lot of people. ... How many of them actually *chat* in it?
I mean... I'm in Jello Shooters where we kind of concentrate on quality nuttiness over quantity of it, and I can't even imagine that many people in one chat area... O.O We usually peak at like... 100ish on at any given time heheh.

Same with the channels I belong to. Then again, many of those channels are almost exclusively for finding teams. Not much going on except lft or lfm. Just too many join and don't participate right now (most likely caught up in the AE broadcasts in Atlas).

Instead of increasing global channel size, I think accounts who have been inactive for 90 days or more should be dropped from their global channels.
SO MANY CHANNELS would open back up again.
And to make it nicey-nice, there could be an automated email with the channels they were removed from, so that the player could save it if they wanted to return later and don't think they'd remember the channel names.

Inactive accounts fill up spots in global channels. Popular channels tend to fill up with large numbers of inactive accounts as no one has any way to remove them. Currently the only solution is to move to a new channel or ask people to quit during the free play periods.
I don't think a simple increase in channel size will do much other than delay the inevitable. We need some way to boot inactive accounts, even a twice a year automated cleaning by the Devs would be a big help. Still, increasing member limits would be nice. So...

I disagree with and always on autoremove, when SG members return the SG global channel is the first place they chime in.
Having an option to enable it may be reasonable, but it should default to off.

Please increase the amount of handles allowed in the public global channels. Playing on Freedom, and the well known channels are all booked.

While it sucks to have a cap, maybe another way to handle this.
What is the Moderator of a made channel could access a menu for that chat channel, he would be able to see (much like a guild) Hero1, inactive 213 days!
Well lets boot the [censored]! lol
Make a tab where you click and it sorts people on the channel by longest inactive, be able to mass highlight and remove from the channel to free up space.
I wish they just removed inactive globals for public channels only. That would make more sense. It is silly to start new channels and try and get people to migrate. Especially when those old ones are suiting people just fine. Even if half of the people in a full channel are semi active...that's a pretty damn good channel.
