Except it doesn't matter because you can run out to Prae at level 1 as a red or blue character.

And he did, I was teamed with him last night!

As for your Alpha choice, I believe ideally you'd want to cap your damage through red insps (WS cap being not that high it should be easy enough). If you go that way I'd suggest looking up some binds for converting, I've found it much easier and faster than manually doing it. The Very Rare Musculature is barely better than a small red insp (or equal to a medium one), on the other hand no insp can give you more recharge, and until you can chain your AOEs literally without pause, you can always use more recharge.
Actually, with the delay in form switching I can technically chain AOEs without delay. But yeah, I don't need red insps, I can cap 300% easily due to mires. Usually can get one nova AOE off during double dwarf mire, i believe, have to watch more carefully. I've been farming with a tray of greens for emergencies, as well as 1 column of blues for quasaring. Honestly, I just need to do it some more and figure out what works fo rme.
  3. Thanks for the input, Nihilii. I was going to make an ss/fire/mu sometime after finishing my WS, but if I can get inf at a decent pace I see no need to do so. I planned on using Spiritual, but if the damage increase from Muscular was significant enough, I think I'd be better off with that. Not too sure, though.

Aha! Thank you. Now I need to just get more practice in.

One more question: While I can run the above farm w/ bosses, they can take a while to defeat. They'll slowly be worn down by mire as I burn through Lt/Mins, but I can turn Lts/Mins to a fine red mist in seconds. Do you think I would be better served at +0/x8 no bosses? Or maybe a higher +X/x8 no bosses. I haven't gotten my level shift yet, so that'll make it speedier.
  5. I realize these are the brute boards, and that this thread has been sitting for a few weeks without discussion but:

I've started farming on my WS, and it's pretty decent. I can do the fire ambush farms +0/8x w/ bosses, have yet to try the other farms (axis america, BM, demons, of course). The damage output is solid, dwarf mire's base damage is ~4 less than footstomp, animates twice as fast, and I can maintain 300% damage buff fairly easily. I also have a couple hard hitting AOEs (nova taoe, unchain, quasar), fill my health every 9s if corpses are present and maintain 85% res to all. Not bragging or anything, just think this is decent in comparison to the de facto farmer.

Anyway, I was mostly wondering, what's the best way to determine my inf/minute while farming? Clear my inf, do exactly an hour of runs and divide my total earned inf by 60?

Sorry for getting off the brute topic, but it IS a farming thread.
  6. Only story I have is that, according to the rest of my team (I didn't see it myself, was on the opposite side of the map), I spawned 4 cysts in very close proximity to one another in an outdoor 'disable device' map.

    Scary!
  7. Alignment powers aren't the same, you'll keep your PPP. Alignment powers are things like Call to Justice and Frenzy.

You can even respec after returning full hero and pick PPPs again.
  8. Turn into a full villain (or go to rogue, that works too).

Find a patron in Grandville, any one you want, and start their mission arc.

Complete the arc and you will be granted a respec and access to all of the PPPs.

You must be 40+ and vill/rogue, not vig.

  10. Huh, that's a clever use of PB. Making it near-perma to shore up defenses. That's some impressive sapping as well.

Have you played with my Warshade at 50? Because that thing wipes out minions and LTs.

I was doing a nemesis farm yesterday set to +3, since I was invited to speed along my unveiler badge. Jumping into spawns, double mired quasar would pretty much eliminate the group, aside from the occasional 5%. The dwarf mire softens them a tad, especially if armageddon procs, and then quasar turns them into a fine mist. Double mire quasar is over 850 NE damage for my set up.

p.s. If you dislike crash nukes, try */MM blasters, Cold/* Def or */Cold Corr. Sure, it crashes, but with DP or Heat Loss, does it matter?
  12. Mercs was my first MM back in I6, and I haven't played one since, so I was wondering (not that I'm going to play mercs again):

All of the pets take achilles procs. How does that work? Does each pet place one debuff, or does it refresh? Will 6 pets potentially result in 6 achilles procs?

If so, that could be a redeeming feature.

Why is this suspect? They're fun! I use mine on my WS every time I can get a double or triple mire Quasar off. Which is about every 96 seconds currently. 90s with spiritual core paragon, 83s with purples.
  14. Elegost is pretty much on the money here, although I might do a few things differently myself, I'd say with the build provided they're setting you up for success.

Of course, I can't make one now and chip in, because viewing Elegost's has tainted my ability to toss together something fresh from scratch. Darn you subconscious.

Also, Ham, I have a lot of respect for you, but Elegost does have a point. Your builds can lack a little, uh, focus.

Yes, yes, I know, feel free to come back at me via a witty retort against my disdain for travel powers, eviscerate on widows, immobilizes with -kb, or threatening to expose my secrets that are already in my signature.

  15. Yeah, usually they aren't a big deal, but even in my limited play so far there have been times where the placement sucks.

    I've been the result of:

A cyst spawning right when Battle Maiden came back in Apex.

Multiple cysts in a row during the second mission of ITF. All next to other cysts. Dangerous? Nah. Confusing, yes!

Tonight, while I didn't see it, my team says there were four cysts all in close proximity of one another in a Sister P mission (one of the outdoor sonic device ones). Didn't have to fight it, but interesting.
  16. I am having last moment second thoughts and considering an MM instead of my Arch/Traps corr.

Either Necro/Dark or maybe Bots/Traps. Haven't entirely decided.

I was referring to the buff, to clarify.

Maybe BM farm? I don't recall how hard they hit (Cims still hit pretty hard through 85% res). Demon farm could work too, possibly. Or the axis america ones, don't remember the name of that mission.

For tickets I guess I'd just make a generic group with no mez.
  19. My WS hit 50 last night after I posted that bit above. She's fully IO'd out now, I believe I spent 750-800m on it. Not too bad, anything under 1b is acceptable in my mind.

I also picked up my first tier of the Spiritual, going to try and get the tier 3 done this week (although, RIFT starts thursday, splitting time between two games is hard!). I might run the character as my main and purple it out, some day.

I love my MFing Warshade. She's overall great, I could probably tweak my play style a bit (I don't make much use of the aoe stun, for example), but I am survivable and knock down spawns pretty well. I have to see how I handle other groups, though, as I've spent the past 15 levels fighting primarily Cims (which can wear me down if I don't keep a pile of food) and Rikti (which aren't a problem).

    Only a few complaints:

The dwarf form mez bug. I'll get over it, though. Tray of breakfrees, ho!

My ST damage feels.. lethargic. On tough single targets, such as AVs, I've been doing Gravity Well > Nova > ST attacks then repeating. Suggestions?

On heavy AOE teams I feel like I lose a lot of time and value shifting and such. I end up usually just racing to nuke spawns. Sunless Mire, dwarf Mire, pop nuke, run to next spawn, kill minion, dwarf mire, pop nuke, etc.

Thanks, Dechs! Now I just need to get a DA tanker to 50...

Edit: Also, I don't really ever farm, but if I wanted to do so, what would be a good choice for my WS? +0/x8? What type of enemies?
  20. I felt the 'trick' to building mine was to consider most of the powers I'd use in normal play, or never use at all, can be great mules. Concealment pool and CJ hold 4 of the 5 lotgs, for example.

Are you looking to play exclusively dwarf?

Disclaimer: Didn't read beyond this, don't know if it is addressed, didn't have time before needing to run out.

You can make Benumb permanent on a single target, without purples, using Spiritual. You can also do the same for Heatloss.

Doing that also results in a 100% or higher Frostwork that you can (if you feel like being busier than Kinetics) maintain on 7 people. Oh, Cold, how I love you.

If the crash doesn't really affect you, is it still a crash?
  23. Quasar!

    ...

    *crickets*

Okay. Okay it has a crash. But I eat the corpses anyway so my blue bar doesn't care.

    Cough.
  24. Got my WS to 47, picked up almost all of her IO slotting. Running around with ~150% global recharge and most of my powers slotted up is absolutely glorious. Still room to grow, too, as I gain the last 3 levels I'll add another 18.75% recharge.

As long as I have breakfrees and the occasional blue for quasar, the pain train keeps on chuggin'.

Can't wait to add the Armageddon proc and SBA proc when I hit 50, either.
  25. I'm in for both Tuesday runs, on different characters. My WS will come along and... something else, I'm not sure yet, need to pick my next project.

Won't be here for Wednesday's, new isos starting.
