You know Johnny, I don't really disagree with what you tend to say about Tanks. I do think they get the shaft compared to brutes. You are a lot like my 17 yo though, in that it is not what you say, but how you say it that turns people off... well me any way.
In a perfect world brutes would only get punchvoke when over 75% fury. I doubt that will ever change, but I think it would help. I also think bruising should work and be increasingly stronger on all tanker attacks, also don't think it will happen. -
Quote:EG, you have been one of my favorite posters for years now. This is just another post that reminds me of why.Not worried about Scrappers from a performance standpoint. But it is true and annoying that this is the only AT that has nothing unique. Every aspect of the Scrapper AT exists in another AT.
I do not want buffs (for any Melee AT), but some I would love it if Scrappers got an utility power that didn't directly buff damage or survivability.
Claws, all through beta I said the same thing and I was shouted down by some of the same people. It still annoys me, and I doubt it will stop annoying me. The fact is every AT in the game has had their inherent looked at and worked on to make it better, except the scrapper. Do scrappers need something more? Maybe not, BUT that does not mean that something to make them cooler (since they have to share ALL of their toys) wouldn't be nice.
Shoot, Brutes and Stalkers even get a better choice in their EPP in Superior Conditioning. So they can increase their end total, but the scrapper (who it makes MUCH more sense for) can't?
Really, the devs need to take a good look at the fact that the scrapper has nothing that is its own. It shares everything, and some of what it shared is even better for others.
Reduce their end cost, increase their total end, allow their t1 and t2 to always work like blasters, increase their mez protection (in PvE) so they can't be held at all, give them all immunity to fear, dang give them something! Like EG said, something can be done that doesn't relate directly to damage numbers. In the end it may by some odd path lead back to doing more damage, or surviving better, but doesn't everything in the game? -
Quote:I don't disagree. As much as I like those stories, it has been forever since I made a toon there. Well, I am sure they know it is dead, and will take the steps to fix it....soon(tm)Yeah stories which most new players won't complete, because they will see the zone is dead for an mmo and then re-roll where there are actual other players.
Praetoria was a great idea before they opened up all the ATs AT THE TUTORIAL.
Now . . . it's pointless for teaming. -
It was nothing to my scrappers or brutes, and I bet it would be easy with stalkers now. What about all the other ATs in the game?

If DfB could be accessed from there, or it had its own version of DfB, it would be fine. The reason it is not played is because the mobs are harder (much harder), and the leveling is a bit slower. The stories there are much better than the 1-20 content for much of the rest of the game.
As much as I like DfB, it has hurt the low level game. It can be run from 1-20 pretty easy, and a lot of people just do that. -
I like the package look on the male version. I really wish you would leave it, I mean if I were going out to fight crime it would be with a jock strap and a cup on.

I just converted all I wanted to convert (which was mostly purples for my Staff/Ea toon) and I STILL have 12,048 reward merits unclaimed in my e-mail.
I am not to worried. If anything they are trying to bleed them off of people like me. -
This is one of those times I think marketing should have bent and released the better of the two power sets first. Unless they are released together.
-
I ended up going 1-48 on a Rad/EM blaster. Highest level I have ever had on a non-melee toon.

Quote:Could you PM me a link where I could get the books? My first edition L5R book is falling apart.L5R's D10 system is alive and well, and into it's 4th Edition (I'm currently in a weekly game). Not 100% sure what AEG's ownership status is, but their logo still appears on the books.
Rokugan was adopted as the "Oriental" setting for D20, but that may not currently be the case, haven't played D20 in some time. -
Quote:The up side is that everything in this game can be replicated with Hero System, Gurps, Fuzion system, and Mutants and Masterminds.I was looking for the PnP game for the longest time until I realized it was canceled. I would have bought it.
A table top game would be pretty using Paragon Wiki as a resource for power and world building with one of the above systems.
As for the CCG, iirc Jack got his start making CCGs. AEG was a great company, but they sold their rights to there big table top games (L5R and 7 Seas) both great games that are now part of the d20 system. :/ Really I think the 7 Seas d10 system was the best ever made, putting the crap WoD to shame (horrible system).
I am pretty sure if you really want the cards they can be found somewhere on the internet or at a con.
It is weird, for a while there people in the table top industry were worried that CCGs may be the death (or a hard blow) to table top games. That obviously was not the case, and I never really thought it would be. CCGs tend to take a heavy investment (I played the L5R CCG) where as I can buy one or two books and some dice and be set for life if I want. -
I would like to see gray story arcs in the opposing zones. I would love to take a Vig to the Isles and run Vig missions working against people like Phipps. Some goes for rogues in Paragon. It would be cool to run missions that counter the more popular contacts.

Quote:While CoH Civil War is forming up here, one camp OK with purchasing APP/EPP Customization (or eating babies, whatever it takes) and the other demanding it be free, there is a special takeaway here; a good portion of CoH's players vehemently want this done ASAP.
I believe this has been brought up, but I asked this very question on facebook, referenced this thread, and the response was basically "We know its wanted, but we have to find the time for it." (paraphrased)
It's been 6 issues now since Power Customization was left unfinished, there are very few other suggestions or requests that would spur this much discussion and people basically begging for it to be done. War Witch, Positron, Dink, Tunnel Rat, whoever it takes, please please please find the time.
All of this. They should have already found the time as most of us would rather have this than new auras, or whatever else they are working on. This is one of those times where I would use curse words to emphasize how bad this ball has been dropped.
I want it for free, but if the only way I can get it is to pay for it I will. Yes it should be free to VIPs at the least. If must be give us color change for free, and charge for alternate animations or effects (electricity instead of fire for hasten).
No matter what, this really should be at the top of the list of things that need to be done. -
It was like an extended Freedom Friday of FB.
There were several idiots in that chat log. -
Here is what I ended up with. Again note that GC has 6 Superior ATIO's and not a ToD set. The reason I stuck them there is because I wanted the proc to fire off more often, and it does. All in all I am really happy, and having fun with a stalker for the first time ever.

Quote:They could be redone with items the players have and look better than they do now. That's what they said they were *not* going to do.
Because, if they do, they use artist time creating unique costumes that players will not have access to, because the 'signature' NPCs get 'signature' costumes.
Then the playerbase will be crying over not having the new shineys.
I am one of those people who hates it when NPCs get all the cool costume items, but even I understand the FF having a signature item each. I LOVE BAB's gloves, but I would never expect to have an exact version as a player.
It is when everyday mobs (like the CoT) get cool items like those gauntlets, big hats, long skirts, and back items, that I get annoyed. -
Quote:Am I the only one who likes King's Row the way it is?
OK, that's not entirely true. Given my druthers, I would make two changes to it, both of them relatively trivial. I would rewrite the contacts' missions into actual story arcs. And I would replace one of the construction sites with the Cyrus Thompson Community Center from the end of Top Cow comic #6. But other than that? Leave it alone! Go make Steel Canyon less gang-infested, go push the Rikti into the alleys off Founder's Falls, go wrap up the story of Perez Park, give Boomtown at least some blue FEMA tarps, but leave King's Row (mostly) the way it is!
And I'll tell you why: ever since issue 4, stepping off the tram into King's Row is the first minute I feel like I'm actually needed. The people of King's Row need heroes, because, even with Blue Steel standing there, even with Paragon PD headquarters in the zone, it is obvious just walking through it: ever since Statesman bankrupted the King Garment Works for their Family ties, King's Row is the neighborhood that everybody else left behind, that nobody cares about.
When you step into King's Row for the first time, you may be only a level 5 hero, but these people don't even have that much.
When you step into King's Row for the first time, you may not know anything about the Circle of Thorns and the war of the gods, and you may not know anything about which of the city's many villain groups and corporations are Nemesis plots. But those are two of the main long-running story lines (the other two being Arachnos and the Fifth Column/Council conspiracy), and the clues that break both start with gang and street-crime crackdowns in King's Row. When you're level 5, you're so far back in the storyline that none of your contacts know anything; the time you spent street-sweeping in KR is why, thanks to you, your later contacts know enough to help you crack the conspiracies.
I love King's Row. Update the story tech, fill in the one missing building, but please, leave the rest of it the way it is!
I just wanted to say this is an awesome post! I agree with all of this.
The zone I would like to see revamped is Parez Park. I think that whole zone is rips for the phasing tech. I want to go kick butt there, and then go back and see kids playing with their dogs, and people having picknicks. Dang it, I am an incarnate! If I want to use my power to make the park safe for people, I should be able to! -
Quote:The breaking point was when it was discovered that some toons over lvl 25 (when the extra slot started) could not level up at all w/o doing a respec. Respecing to get those slots also made purples disappear irrc. There were several really bad bugs that went with it.Ya, i ran into that beta bug a way back. Some toons got 3, some got 0, some got 6 when training up a Lv50.
I want to defend Synapse here because he said on the boards and in chat that he really wanted to give us those extra slots, and he would continue to look for a way to do it. I wouldn't surprised at all if he was still looking when he could.
This is one of those things I really hope they find a way to do. I don't care if they tie it to the incarnate system, force a respec, or whatever, I would really love to have a few more slots on all of my toons. -
Yes. There is not much I would not do to be able to change the fx of Hasten.
-
Quote:This makes me sad, it was something I have been looking forward to.
Q: 3 extra enhancement slots broke stuff badly. Has it been shelved? yes. Too much work for them to get that to work.
Perhaps they could just give them to us when we ding 50, so that at 50 we get 6 slots instead of three. As it is actually hitting 50 can be a bit anticlimactic. -

Full disclosure. I have never built a stalker before. The new changes, and x2 xp have inspired me to take my lvl 39 nin/nin to 50 this weekend, and the butt ton of merits I have from super packs inspired me to do IO him out. Please help me.
I figured I wanted to build for positional def, which I have managed to soft cap w/o DA added, with DA it jumps WAY over the soft cap in melee. I really do not want to take the t9 in my secondary, I have a strong dislike of any power with a crash.
Here is the build I have so far, please tell me if there is something I can do better. My goad as I said was positional soft cap. I would also like to be able to take advantage of the new straight up combat capabilities instead of just the old hid/AS.
I have one power (flashing Steel) that I feel may be a wasted power, but it holds Oblit so I kept it. Also in Sting I have a full stalker ATIO set, but mids doesn't allow it yet.
And in advance, thank you so much for any help.
