  1. Only thing I haven't bought is the Wedding Pack.

Big fan of the Valkyrie armor (which meshes aesthetically with the Warrior Armor pretty well), and the other boosters have several costume pieces that I keep going back to.

As far as powers, I only use Self Destruct as an express ticket to the hospital. Fortune telling is nifty, and Ninja Run is good in the lower levels, and even better when it matches up to a character. (Nice touch with the different weapon stances as you run too. Kudos.) The Mission Transporter is worth it's weight in gold, but the Supertailor is beyond awesome, and my favorite fluff piece so far.

As long as we got to see it in action first, I'd be down for that. I understand that Martial Arts aren't the only animations a full length skirt/robe would clip on, but still. How bad can the clipping be, compared to capes, weapons, and some of the shoulderpads?
  2. I have a Corruptor ready to go hero, and a Controller (and Warshade, if they can switch) ready to go villain.

I -might- try to snag a name for the Dual Pistols concept I have in mind. Not too concerned about a Demon Summoner MM yet, though I will be making one.

(Un)fortunately, I got back into comics and the X-Men during Austen's run, so I don't mind some of the things he did.
I think Austen has some weird werewolves that tried to take over Worthington's company. Pretty sure it was Jeph Loeb that did the "evolved from wolves" silliness.

No argument from me. The continuity clusterf*** between the X-Men and and post OMD Spider-Man alone are more than enough justification to wipe the board clean and start over.

Articles like that remind me why I only read trade paperbacks anymore.
Huh? A stupid story is a stupid story regardless of the form it's in. Or are you referring to waiting until an arc has been completed, getting a base idea of what happened, and then buying a trade?
  4. One More Day/Brand New Day wins in my book. The in-story logic was asinine and the editorial justification is just mind boggling.

Parallax, I don't mind. But they're getting carried away with Ion, Parallax, the Predator, whatever the orange one is, and presumably Nekron for black.

Xorneto just doesn't make any sense.

The Nightcrawler-as-a-demon, Worthington as a descendant of angels, and Wolverine's lupine thing were all bad ideas. (Was Austen the one that had Husk musing to herself about how she essentially fights naked among the X-Men?) I mean, c'mon, you killed off Sabretooth and tried to elevate freaking Wild Child in his place?! Thankfully, most of this crap has been forgotten. I think that Romulus schmuck is still around though.

The third Summers brother was, to me anyway, a neat mystery for a while. Not crazy about the resolution, but I don't mind it.

The ridiculous history is only part of why I loathe Hawkman.

The Superboy Prime Retcon Punch is goofy, but it's no worse than some of Morrison's Crank inspired crap from Final Crisis.

Movement modes are not the same as powers.
My apologies for not being clear, I was referring more to the base Sprint and Prestige Power Slide. Aren't they both included in the broader "Sprints" category?
  6. As long as the toppings are some form of meat, I'm happy. Cheese only works too, though chicken/broccoli and BBQ sauce is a lot tastier than it sounds. Don't really care about the crust as long as it's thicker and softer than cardboard.

I'm usually game for stand around RP, Mission RP, or RPVP. (Not sure what else there is, now that I think about it.) No real preference, just depends on my mood at the time.
  7. What are the odds of getting multiple walk animations to choose from? Like all the prestige sprints.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as thankful as the next RPer that they even released the power, and great job on it. But the sultry vixen wiggle isn't as... how to put it... adaptable for female character concepts as the male and huge walks. A lot of character types look great doing the female walk. A lot of character types also look incredibly wrong, if not disturbing, doing the female walk.
  8. I have several villains available for archnemesis purposes. If you're looking for an entire VG (RP heavy supervillain world domination), we may be able to work something out as well.
  9. I'm partial to doing an angel as some combination of FM/Shield, using an energy shield (not the Fire one) colored to match the Fire Sword.

You only got the salvage from Treats before, and randomly at that still. Which lead to a lot of roaming Trick spawns that people didn't bother to clean up.

A common... I guess you would call it a "game"... in America, particularly with children and young teens, goes as follows:
    - Two people say the exact same thing at the exact same time
    - One of the two says "Jinx! You owe me a CokeĀ™"
We had the Jinx thing, but Coke/soda was never involved. It's been a while, but I think it was something like you were open game to be punched if you talked before someone said your name.
  13. I like that you get Halloween costume salvage for defeating Trick mobs now. Thumbs up for that change.

I do NOT like that you can click a door at level 1, and get a dishpan hands Vampyri boss. The difficult is all sorts of screwy. However, I accept that some ATs can ToT fine in the lower levels, and some cannot.

Also, the timers seem to be off, or random, or something. Previously you could only click a door once a minute or so, right? This time, sometimes I could click the same door almost right after getting a Treat. Sometimes it would take 30 seconds between door clicks. Sometimes I couldn't click on -any- doors for over a minute.
  14. So an argument can be made for Atlas, but having an event as intensive as the Deadly Apocalypse triggering in areas like King Rows, Mercy Island, or Port Oakes strikes me as an exercise in futility.

Maybe it was just my experience or maybe it's just CoV, but it sure seemed to be a lost cause attempting the event in any low level zone, nevermind using a lowbie in said zones.
  15. Gah! The NCSoft site is borked, can anyone provide screenies?

Probably some more. It IS a challenge sometime. I do admit, but not impossible.
'Aye. In the last year I've gotten the following on Virtue

    Silver Scourge
    Starscourge
    Dr. Star
    Dr. Siege
    Shadow Driver
  17. I should probably point out that Eiko and I argue over a lot of the aspects of this game.

    1) Funds, derived from players paying for access to the game, which pays for the Devs and the servers, plus other expenses.

    2) Other players in the game.

Without 1, there really wouldn't be a game, since there would be no Developers, nor would there be the servers to play them on.

Without the second one, people would leave quite quickly, which would cause a loss of #1. Now, is Veteran time a good representation of how much time a player spends in the game? Probably not, but I don't know how you would adjust it to represent that fairly across the board, since a new player coming in might get a lot of hours playing the game, but they don't have the long-term experience and knowledge of a lot of the changes that have taken place that someone playing a few hours a week since release might have.
Vet Rewards are a good representation as any for measuring how long a player has had an active subscription. That is not the same thing as the amount of experience a player has with the game. Some Vets explore every single nook and cranny, and try to do everything they can. Some players could care lest about any text in the game, and they fly through content as fast as possible. Some players like the setting more than the game, and they rarely get a character past level 20. Some players just forgot to cancel their subscription. And there's lots of other variants.

But the system is there. MMO Developers on the whole seem to like the concept of Veteran Rewards. They like you buying the game early on and staying with the game. Vet Rewards are intended to thank players for sticking around. Whether or not it's easier to retain the costumers you have or to get new one seems to be highly debatable, but to me anyway, it seems like the CHV Devs focus on keeping the people they have happy.

    Quote:
But what the current veteran reward system does is rewards both #1 and #2, or at least tries to. Because of how it is set up, it is designed to reward us both for paying and playing, not just one or the other.

Changing it so that it rewards only time paid would be a fundamental shift in that policy. Would it change the number of people playing at any given time? I have absolutely no idea. But it would remove the idea that the system is there to encourage both #1 and #2. And personally, I think that's a bad precedent to set.
Unless I'm mistaken, Vet Rewards are for time -paid-, not time -played-.

I have the 42 month Vet badge. (I'd also probably be up to 51 months or more if I had kept my subscription active from the first day I got the game, but I had major internet troubles for a while.) The next Vet Reward of any note is the 48 Month buff pet. Would I like to have that now? Yeah, it'd be nice, but I'll live. The next "costume" pieces are the Pre-Order Arachnos helmets, one of which I already having from CoV the first time around. Couldn't care less about that.

I knew about the CoH when it was released, but didn't buy it at first. I had no indication of the concept of Vet Rewards until SWG. Yeah, I got some retroactive Vet Rewards when CHV started the program, but I do not understand this "unfair" claim. The Devs are thanking the players for sticking around from the beginning. I find it hard to believe there was ever any intent to spite new players with rewards they would have to wait to get, and could -only- wait to get. Vet Rewards are incentive to stick around. But it's far from hopeless for pretty much everything but the Samurai armor. If you absolutely must have wings NAO, buy the Valkyrie pack, or the Magic pack for a long coat. Use hand wraps for your fighter, or fingerless gloves.
  18. Just for you, Eiko, I'm going to make a Boxer costume for Red. ^_^
  19. Due to the Society VG meeting (the aforementioned dinner planning thing =-p) I didn't catch most of what said on the channel after 10:50PM, EST. I had every intention of going back over the log after our meeting, but Virtue asploded on me. >.<

So! I caught that Corpse Weaver/Lady Malevolent is out there somewhere, Fourth likes playing... quirky... characters, and there seem to be a lot of you hero types who are lacking in proper villains. Sounds interesting so far.

Now I'm sure this was originally what RP Virtue was for, but I never really understood what it was for other than saying stuff about Von Dread, and telling everybody "Dude! I'm at the D and I'm causing a big scene."
I may be biased simply because I logged on once with this channel up and those topics came up nearly instantaneously and I haven't looked back, save in horror.

Anyway onto my idea. I like to make characters that have connections to other characters, and other than post on the board here "Hot Sexy Hero lf Seductive Villainess to Dominate" and whatever, I thought what if we had a Channel where you could create IC connections for your toons?
(I'm kidding about the Hot sexy thing, I mean this in a serious way...)
Like if you need important characters for your backstory, or just want an arch-villain and you are like me and suck at making friends who don't want to take over the world, and use you as a lackey.(looking at you, The New Black)...
    *whistles innocently*

But saving and protecting the world is so boring! That's why we try to take over the world every few nights, Pinky!
  22. Are auras strong enough to pull off the semi-transparent effect like the ghost pirate costume you can get during Halloween?
  23. Agreed that the Banner Event is a lost cause in the lower level zones. Pretty much anywhere below Cap or Steel is a waste of time to try unless a lot of higher level toons are there.

Last year, Trick or Treating was fun, because the fights were good and exciting. This year they're so punishing it's little more than a grind. And what was wrong with having zone-level-appropriate spawns show up anyway, and having THOSE scale? At least then lowbies wouldn't be as screwed.
Some ATs can solo ToTing at lower levels, some don't do so well. Sort of like how the rest of the game works. I was running a NRG/NRG Blaster, Elec/Kin Corr, and Claws/SR Brute from level 1 on, pretty much purely on ToT other than a Sewer run for the hero, and did fine. On the other hand, a lowbie Warshade and Ninja Blade/Regen Stalker couldn't ToT on their own to save their lives.
  24. There was a pretty large group of players that went with an old World of Darkness theme in CoV, but most of them seem to have scattered to the winds over the years. I'm not "in" on the current crop of vampirey groups.

    6) We do have access to monstorous claws via the costumes. However, yes it would be cool to have claws have an alternate animation for those type of claws. One day, I hope.
Rumor had it that "Mako Claws" were going to be in the Mutant booster as an alternate form of claws. The way I see it, you'd get "Monstrous hands" with the clawed fingertips, and when you activate/pop your claws, it just opens the hand to "slap" with the claws out instead of having your hands balled into fists.
