I seriously don't think a large contingent of people only subscribe for the costumes at Tier 9. And I don't think there'd be any mass exodus if the exclusivity of those costumes were "diminished".
I specifically bought $100 in points so that I would have the tokens for Celestial before they got rotated out (please note I am now sitting on like 8000 or whatever points, unused!). This was before they changed their story from "eventually they will be rotated back in (with the implication that everything stays T9VIP exclusive)" to "eventually they may not be T9VIP exclusive but available through other means" (with the possible implication that means it won't be T9VIP).

If they had announced the latter when they talked about rotating Celestial out, I sure as hell wouldn't have bought those points. I would have been content to wait it out and get Celestial eventually by "some other means"...I waited until only a few weeks ago to get them anyway, another month or two wouldn't have hurt.

As it is, since I'm pretty much uninterested in the Incarnate system, if they give away the VIP rewards in such a way that doesn't require VIP to obtain, I will be unsubscribing and playing as a Preemie. Since they want to KEEP subscriptions (if you believe their repeated "subscriptions are our core focus" mantra), this sounds RESOUNDINGLY STUPID in a business sense.

He never said you did say that. He said the slider works properly. To put it another way: You're level 50, with some bonus stuff that comes from powers. The slider works properly.

I hope they never set the minimum level for baddies in DA at 54 and have the slider adjust from there. My incarnates would never get anywhere (I don't like iTrials much). If that's not what you're suggesting, then explain yourself a little more.
  3. Right-click City of Heroes on the Launcher screen and tell it to run a repair.

White name = free player. It's best to assume that white name = access to nothing, until told otherwise.

  6. Is the store on beta OK? I know the two are separate, so maybe their uptime differs. Could just transfer there instead.
  7. Mind, TGA files come out *HUGE* (up to 10MB each!!) so hopefully you've got a lot of space or use it sparingly.
  8. Dechs must be sleeping. Someone link to his guide! I cannot find it easily on this stupid phone.
  9. IIRC you can also hover your mouse over your levelup circle and get the details that way.
  10. Point of clarification, because these numbers are ASTRONOMICALLY amazing: The three day tickets sold out in LESS THAN FIVE HOURS!!! The single day tickets sold out in less than 24 hours.

My fiance checked at noon and they weren't on sale yet. By five when our friend called to tell us the tickets were on sale, the three-days were already sold out, so we had to pay for fri/sat/sun separately, which is HORRIFIC on our pocket book ($35/day as opposed to $60/weekend, times two of us). PAX is already expensive enough a trip for us, and then our wedding is only a few weeks later. arghhhh

You might not actually be as crazy as you think! (I'm sure you're partially crazy; we all are; we're playing a superhero game, after all.)

Most (if not all) of the original ambient noises, beeps and blips, songs, etc. were available in a pay-for pack. I've heard some "CoH sounds" in commercials, other games, movies, etc.
  13. Sounds like the batteries may be going, or the sensor may be bad.

Mice don't have an unlimited lifetime, remember. And wireless mice even less life due to the batteries involved.
  14. Texas, California, and Washington I know for sure, because NCsoft has facilities in each of those. There may be more.

Listen via the little sound symbol after "ate". It says "ait". It then says "primarily British" and says "et". Which is still not "at".

What the heck? No, that is wrong.

"Ate" is pronounced like "plate" without the "pl" part (ait/ayt). It is not pronounced like "hat" without the "h" (not "at").

I don't know a single person who is not a redneck that says "I at some pizza last night." EVERYONE I know (who is not a redneck) says "I ayt some pizza last night."

Note that rednecks pronounce all kinds of words wrong, mostly because they don't know any better.

At the normal costume price of 400pp/$5?

I spent the equivalent of up to $45 on them as a T9 VIP item (slightly less due to bulk points buying discount). I tell you what, I sure would be pissed if someone could then buy the whole thing for five bucks. No sir.
  18. There is a collection of them now that's parts 1-7 for $30. (So you save the cost of one episode. Not much of a discount for the whole collection, IMO.)

Keep in mind that if that VIP person ever goes Preemie, they don't take their SSAs with them. To keep playing them as a Preemie, they have to buy them. (And two of the rewards - the Incarnate bits - are unavailable. And one of the rewards - the AM - is unavailable if they don't also have GR/Alignment System. And one of the rewards - Reward Merits - is no use to someone under Tier 4 [8 reward tokens].)

The game restricts them that way. Get some Praets involved in any holiday event (frinstance, Valentines Day event arcs, requiring a hero to run the arc and a villain to complete the mission, and the opposite) and the Resistance are stuck with the Heroes, and the Loyalists chum with the Villains.

Sure would be awesome if the Prae Chaser stuck with you after your alignment choice. It should base itself off of an internal invisible badge that tells you what earth you originate from.

  21. If you don't have 13 reward tokens, or have not purchased MM from the Paragon Market, no you will not be able to continue playing your MM.

Actually, NCsoft's Seattle division maintains the website, and IIRC pretty much every website that NCsoft NA does.

I've pared it down even more. Here's my forum view. It is kind of glorious.

This is what I do as well, with most of the powers I have popmenu'd. I have a tray tucked away on the right in a vertical strip that is full of popmenu'd powers. I don't have to worry about moving my mouse over there to do anything with them, because I just hit P then 1-9 (some numbers open a second submenu that requires another selection of 1-9, i.e. costume changes).

Some powers I don't have on a tray at all, but that's because I use them so infrequently that I don't need them there, such as Self Destruction, base port, Pocket D port, etc.
