  1. Gotta give this an /unsigned, especially given how the game handles intagibility. Other than actualy using that, it'd be a standard Defensive set with new animations. Which, really, isn't worth it IMO.

Yeah. MM = The MMs team and 7 other people

  5. So, basically negating all Mez throughout the game?

Having actually got a Warshade up to level 34 now, I can safely say; they dont need Mez protection in human form. A friend of mine has gone human form too, and he copes perfectly without it. I went triform, and never looked back.

What DOES need changing is the shapeshifting. It takes way too long to animate. At least it doesnt root. Other than that, they are pretty much WAI.

    And holy Necro-post, Batman!

Yeah, right. I can hear BaBs, Castle and Synapse screaming from here.

They said they could have got an entire powerset done in the time it took them to do the 3 whip attacks in Demons. So, really, don't hold your breath on that.
  7. Hmm. Not bad. Not my favourite style (Im not an abstract fan. Impressionism is about my limit) but it ain't bad.
  8. It's a Pity Bill Z can't come over to the Euro Servers...I know a guy who has two chars I think you'd love to meet

Warscythe and Kahn, both played by @Stryke. I think either of them fighting Bill Z in PvP would possibly bring about the end of the world...

Personally, I much prefer playing a Peacebringer than a Warshade. The whole "drain their essence" thing (while visually stunning) is about what I would expect from "The Dark Ones".
When there is nothing left but ash and drained souls, there is no need for your wussy heals, lightbulb. Don't worry; when the New World Order comes, your passing will be swift.

  13. I wouldn't mind, if the weapon unlocks were for, y'know, Minions? The Council rifles are the ONLY one which unlocks in a sensible way; defeat 100 Council. You unlock it by accident, for pete sakes.

Unveiler...dont get me STARTED on that damn badge, especially redside! I had a friend be very kind and get the Nemesis invasion mission, and farm the 10 Bosses in it 10 times, just to get me the rifle, for which I still feel I owe him. It was a grind, and it was not fun. That is NOT how unlocks should work. Defeat 100 Nemesis Troopers? Works great! Defeat 100 Carnies, or if needs be 100 Strongmen for the hammer? Great! It makes sense and its not a chore to achieve.

Either bring the unlocks down to a reasonable level, or do the best thing and make them global.

Like spit I do. I have one, count them ONE character using Invention Sets, and thats Alpha. I have a few level 40s who are running vanilla IOs, but only because I got sick of having to replace SOs all the time, and because I had the inf to afford it at the time, or had a few recipes to spare.
For the most part, I dont slot until 22, then slot SOs. And then last on them until lvl 47. I dont feel an over-riding need to slot IOs, although its a nice add-on at 50. The game is balanced around SOs, and I can manage just great on them. Its when, trough regular play, I find it hard to get the inf to slot these that I suspect something is slightly skewed with the system. Of course, I may well be wrong. Again, its my opinion.

But at the same time, you DON'T have to do that. Just selling your own drops at the Market is more than sufficient. Even as the Goat suggested, just selling everything for, like 100, is going to earn you a serious amount of cash. The point is to make money off the Market the same way you make it off the vendors - show up, sell things, leave. THAT is not a lot of work, nor does it really need any specific knowledge. Just sell whatever sells and vendor everything else.
Pretty much nailed it, Sam. And I'd thank people kindly for not lumping me in with the 'Want it nao!' crowd. I only object to things that I can look at objectively and see a flaw, however slight with. In my opinion (note, Opinion. I never said it was fact, and if I did 'It was late, I was tired' comes into it) the TO-DO-SO system is a bit dated. It still works, dont get me wrong, but when, by the time you've saved up enough to get lvl 25 SOs you have since leveled up to the point of getting level 30 SOs (I kid you not. Without transfering inf, I've run into this problem a LOT)

And, yes, I will be making use of I17s inf mailing feature. So, yes, that will solve that problem.
But I get somewhat narked when there are comments that insinuate that Im basically b*tching about something.

Thats the job of my friends, thanks

They didn't add inventions and markets to fix not being able to afford SOs at 22. That is simply a side benefit. If you won't use it, congratulations you get to enjoy what we had for 3 years before we had inventions and markets when we actually were forced to do without or get someone else of a higher level to bankroll us or do without.

So don't come here talking about being forced to use the optional markets to experience game play that wasn't even an option before the markets and inventions existed and think you'll get much sympathy from anyone who played before May 2007.
And Im saying that not being able to afford the enhancements the game is BALANCED AROUND is somewhat BROKEN.

Having to use a wholly optional market just to actually afford the bare essentials is, frankly, stupid. Yes, there are ways around, but you shouldnt have to be taking alternate routes for something as basic and built in as enhancements.

So, maybe the Devs see it as WAI. But kindly dont type at me like I'm a simpleton.
  18. More non-terrible Robotic piece first, please. The plant costume parts we have all have decent textures on them, and natural feet. The current range of decent robotic pieces is...few. Sure, the Praetorian Clockwork will hopefully help that, but those might be unlockables. If so, I hope they are fairly easy to get, because they are some of the ONLY robotic lookig robot pieces we have.

But, still. More costume parts in general is a good thing.

Yeah, and some of that leg work is really ****ing horrible.

Sorry, but there is a reason that these threads keep coming up. Why should a character have to go through 6 long and in some cases really boring TFs just to get Epaulets without stupid great spikes on? Which really shouldnt be Hero exclusive as it is?

And as for the Nemesis Rifle...don't get me started on that thing Redside. Same as the Tommy Gun.
If they were made global unlocks, so what? You'd still have done the leg work. It doesnt detract from that effort made to unlock it. As someone who has got two full VG costumes and the Nemesis rifle, I wholly /Sign this, to get rid of grinding 'un-fun' that really shouldn't be here in the first place.

Being forced to use an 'optional' feature of the game to even slot up on standard enhancements strikes me as 'wrong' frankly. And its something I object to having to do.
For the most part, and come I17 will be the norm, I ferry inf from my bank char blueside and whoevers richest at the time redside.

Dont forget, Warshades have a KO blow style Hold with a guarenteed Hold component and a couple of AoE stuns.

Because Evil, even reformed Evil, is cool
That, and because you would be daft to kick anything but the most atorciously built shade. They really are rather powerful, while PBs are Scrapper/Blaster hybrids which, while decent, aren't, IMO anyhow, in the same league.

If they want to make origins play any sort of lasting role then there are much better ways of doing it than forcing me to figure out what the heck a "Portacio Ind Internal Munitions" or "Nectanebo's Brooch" is.

I think most of us just go by the color coding of each ie. red= dam, dark blue = end mod. But it gets messy looking for tohit debuffs, or jumps, or other such ones that all blend together.

Meaningless convoluted origin names attached to enhancements could happily go the way of the dodo and I wouldn't complain. Invention: damage, that is about the complexity required.
    new names:
    Training can stay as training
    DO = practiced
    SO = focused

As for the changes being discussed regarding early game I'll toss my vote in saying I loathe anything that makes my powers get weaker as I progress. I hate the early game accuracy bonus with a passion, but at least it isn't obvious or intrusive. Something that made my powers tangible faster and cheaper for however long until I'm strong enough not to need the crutch is something I strongly oppose.

At the same time I see a standardized permanent reduction to the 3 starting powers greatly benefiting some sets and doing next to nothing for others.

Rather than reinventing the wheel I think they already have the solution implemented, but it is not being utilized. The origin powers could easily be buffed to actually not suck by boosting their damage, lower end cost, and high inherent acc. Easily explained by being inherently good with the power of your origination.

They could even grant two origin attacks if necessary (but I don't think it is). As long as they are a bit worse DPA than existing powers they will be phased out as better powers open up.

I dunno, I just see that they have already put the powers into the game that can largely solve the complaints being raised, but for whatever reason they haven't been utilized. It is also a lot more KISS friendly than anything else being discussed.
This sounds decent. Mutation and Magic SOs especially have always been more long winded than they should be, due to having obscuring icons that tend to block the back colour of the SO. Yes, I can right click to check the type. But being able to mouse over them (which you can in AE, incidentally) would be much easier. And having to go to the correct store haflway across the zone is a pain.

I mentioned AE because now that is what I do with all my new characters. Once I get them the Atlas Park mayhem/safeguard raptor pack I hop into AE and generate some tickets (one mission is often enough). Then I can either take my chances on a recipe or some random salvage or work for enough tickets to buy a good rare.
I tend not to use the markets, for various reasons. And, frankly, you shouldn't have to. TOs, DOs and SOs haven't changed since before IOs and salvage came out, and, if you dont use the market, you still cannot afford to actually slot the Enhancements for your level when they come out (12 and 22) Which, IMO, is rather silly. If you level to 22 without buying enhancements, by all rights I should be able to buy SOs. I could understand having to buy it bit by bit, if you didn't end up out-levelling enhancements within a short time.

I've personally been that drag on at least two ITFs, the last one of hich I basically had to unsummon my henchmen and play Defender until the healing Nictus died resurrecting Romulus for the third time. I can't imagine what a full team of 8 Masterminds would do against him. Even the most conservative estimate put this at 56 targets to drain from.

That said, I did a Respec trial with four Masterminds and we did pretty well, failing only because of sidekick Go Fish.
Sam, this is hogwash, and Alpha hs proven it time and again by laser-****** Rommy's nicti-fied face time and time again. For one thing, afaik, the nictus heal is a PBAoE around Rommy. So, against Ninjas and Zombies, maybe there might be more problems. But even so, they are still damaging him. So long as you can out-damage the heal, which really isn't that hard, you're home laughing with roman style crumpets soon enough.
The only reason we've failed an ITF with an MM on it was because the goon had FF's and didnt have a CLUE about actually, y'know, buffing his team? Or keeping his pets upgraded? Or anything? And we were 5 down from about 8, and when we hit 4 I just quit.

Oh, and anyone kicking a half-decent Warshade from a team needs their head examining. Stat. Warshades are power addition AND multiplication, all in one deathly purple package.
