  3. At present, the Arachnos Flier is a real headache to try and nail down. It spawns as soon as the message goes up, and has three stop off points.
    Then it bails out.

We tried to grab it last night at behest of a channel friend. It wasn't that we couldn't dent the thing. With only half the team making it to Grandville in time, we still started sratching the health bar. But by the time everyone got there, it was off and away.

Which, I think, is a shame. Because it was actually really fun to fight. You're hitting a big, pseudo-hightech flier with teleporting Bane Spiders and big pew-pew lasers, flaring lights and rocket batteries; what's not to like?

My suggestion would be that, once the flier spawns on patrol, it persists until downed. Then the compulsory cooldown, until it spawns again. That way there is at least time for people to gather a team and hunt it down at the drop-zones, rather than arrive only to see it fading off the map.

Lol okay, go ahead and mess with the enhancements. Oh wait. You can't! To bad for you ^^

PS: I actually like the enhancements, pics and names on a lot of them. Makes me feel I'm actually finding stuff rather than generic item #461. For other characters, simply ignoring the names is not asking for your first born's blood.
See, what bugs me is this; say I'm on my Technology Tanker, levelling up. Im fighting Rikti, for want of an example. I go through, merrily hitting. Yet, the enhancement 'rewards' I get are all Science origin. I cant actaully use them. Despite, y'know, Rikti having high tech as well...
Now, sure, I can sell them...for an absolute pittance, even at an unbiased store. An enhancement you cant use is worth practically next to nothing.

Why not simply drop enhancements based on your origin, not that of the mob? That way, whatever you are fighting, you at least have the chance of recieving enhancements beyond TOs that you can actaully slot and get some use out of, without being locked into absoultely having to fight, say, Freakshow and Skyraiders (I think they drop tech?) which gets very dull after a while.

If it's too much of a leap for people to try and accept that in an RP viewpoint (Bear in mind, this is coming from an RPer), then surely it would make sense for your character to trade whatever mugjuggin they picked up for something they could use. Either with the contact or with someoen they know.
Something a bit fairer than paying the smirking Longbow Ops/Arbiters peanuts for stuff that is basically so much junk to you.

    The Boot Myth

    ...Yeah, what Luminara said

Personally, though, I don't boot people unless they are being an absolute little streak of dog doos. And I've only run into them a few times. Once was a guy who was insisting that I invited his friend, pre-SSK, and refused to understand just why it was a terrible idea to invite a guy so much lower than us, and why I refused to make every else have to support him. He got rather pissy...at which point I dissengaged all safties and went rather explosive on his organic self
  7. The only 'compromise' I've really made is on my Shield/SS Tanker, where I stuck in Tough and Weave later in his build to crank up his armour, and skipped out on a travel power, because it suits him to be a bit slower, but rather tough.
That, and Ninja run makes up for it mostly

But I don't think I've ever had to forcefully cripple myself, no.

Been wanting to remove the hair on my stalker, who basically wears an officers cap over his gas mask. He should not have visible hair. Yet he does. And it drives me nuts at the back of my mind, even if it is coloured black.

Some of the older hair options look really, really dated now. Some of them look worse than just dated.
And options where they make sense too. I was trying to get a certain set of gloves on robes, and I couldnt. For no good reason. (Roman gloves, was experimenting in AE)
  13. Ho man, that's tough...

I think first place has to go to my Warshade at the moment. Never have I cackled so much while levelling. He's just great fun.

Second has to go to my namesake, Alpha, the Bots/Traps MM of doom. Still my highest diff setting character, who chews up large mobs under a hail of firepower. Great fun.

Then anything with Shield in it. Shield Charge is just so destructive its incredible, especially on my scrapper

  15. You know what makes me laugh? A lvl 50 Recharge red recipe....sells for over four times the price of a Hecatomb recipe at an NPC vendor. I just stared at it for a while.

I was amazed by the fact that they were answering questions that had already been officially posted and by the lame "Who would win in a race?" or "Do you like Vodka?" questions they decided to answer. Actually, amazed is a little lacking in color but I am trying to be polite here.

I counted about 64 questions and was only impressed by the answers to about 5. I will admit that the dodge they gave for the drop date of Issue 19 was funny, but I think they could have chosen better questions to answer.

Honestly, I think most of us would be happy if we had a little more detail on what or when things are planned to come about in the game. If they had said “PvP is in the works, but not until at least Issue 20”, I think most would have been happy with that kind of answer. While some would have complained, most would say “Ok, we have a guess-timate at least”. And if later on they had to move it back for reasons of complexity or other game content again, the grumbles would happen, but I believe overall people could accept it.

I will tell you a lesson I learned in my 13 years in the U. S. Marines. Any information was better than nothing or vague ways of the hand, and changes are expected. Either Marketing or the Devs (maybe both) seem to have not learned that lesson yet or forgotten about it.
It's a fair point, yes. They could have been more in depth on stuff. But I really think it's better they be vague than copying our 'beloved' former Head of Studio, Jack Emmert, and promise stuff for certian times and then have to renage on that due to, y'know, he didn't actually bother asking the guys who it concerned if it was actually feasible in the time frame.

For the PvP question, it's pretty simple really. They are working on it, and will be coming to it. When and what timescale is quite possibly something even they don't know yet, due to the fact they seem to work on three issues at once nowadays, and GR is probably taking major precedence over anything else.
And who knows what marketting thinks, at the best of times. The Devs =/= Marketing, either way.

Finally, don't get me wrong; I know there is still some what I'd consider broken stuff in game. And yeah, PvP is one of them. Base editing too, and (for me anyhow) the majority of Blueside content and this morbid obsession with 'New shinies is better!' when, really, the game chassis (the majority of content) could do with a polish.

I just object to being typed at like I'm an idiot

I still don't get how some still fail to grasp my point. If a monkey can make new loading screens, then why hasn't it happened more often in the past 5+ years?
Perhaps because the games graphics haven't changed in Five years? So, it wasn't needed? Whereas now the graphics will be updated for the first time in said five years. So, its now worth doing. And David obviously took a few to rustle up some new ones we can apprecaite when it hits live.

Way to blow it hugely out of context?
I was curious wether they would actually get around to re-vamping the loading screens, which havent changed since launch, to include the new shinies of Ultra Mode. I got an answer, one I did not previously have, by reading the Q&A. So, all those going 'Waaah, want naow Entitlement!' saying that this was pointless and there was no new answers; there were. Admittedly not all of them, but a number. If you dont find them meeting your standards...well...tough? You are surprised at the marketting department after how long of them being just like this?

    tl;dr
    It'll be ready...when it's ready.

It's not really a *bad* idea. I'd go for it. But it's largely rejected by the fuddy-duddies around here due to the largely terrible reasons in Bill's copy-paste, and unlikely to get implemented in any case due to the only important statement in Bill's copy-paste - that the devs have unequivocally said "no".

One quick semi-artsy question; Any chance of a cinematic intro to the game? I feel the team really missed a trick with that; the cinematics for CoV release and suchnot were really, really cool, as was the GR one. Some manner of intro cinematic, which could also be used as a 'general' promotion for the game, would be great, imo.

    And, really off-topic; gizza job?
