  1. You ever heard of a group called the 'Circle of Thorns'?

Yes, I know, it's not the same. But I'd much rather see them actaully flesh out some of the holes in groups they already have, rather than adding 'even moar'.
  2. Also, Hellfire can be used on ANY pet you own. Including things like Dark Servant.

Do you honestly expect to see the same amount of content in a game that's been in development for, say, a year? All the zones, all the costumes, all the powers, all the stuff... That doesn't just take knowhow and good judgement. It takes time to make. Years, I dare say.

A City of Heroes 2 would be to City of Heroes what UT3 was to UT2004 - a better-looking game with more punch but a lot less actual content. This is the big one, in my eyes. People looking to upgrade to City of Heroes 2 from City of Heroes, the original, will be looking to indeed upgrade, not trade one set of problems for another. They'll be looking to have just as wide a costume selection, just as huge a power selection, just as many places to visit, just as many things to do, and MORE. Ideally, I'd like to see that, but the undertaking would be... Monumental.
    tl;dr

It'd take constant development from now till about...2014? 2015? Maybe? to get as much content or near-ish to make CoH2 a patch on CoH as it is now.

So, why not? Let's have Arachnos soldiers do the same. They'll hang out on their posts and mind their own business, but if you mess with them, walk by with a damage aura or your pets on aggressive, they WILL try to mess you up. I still feel they ought to attack if you walk up to them, as well, just because they're jerkasses like that, but it'd fit.

Let's roll with that, though. What other bad guys can we do the same for? What other bad guys wouldn't be openly aggressive unless provoked? Crey agents, maybe? I mean, they're trying to keep a believable front, and they are NOT believable at all when they attack you on sight. Especially when they post anti-hero snipers on the rooftops. How about the Family? We all know they're dirty, but they still try to act like legit businessmen. I mean, sure, if they have a guy in cement shoes, they're gonna' wanna' kill you for seeing it, but if they're just hanging on a street corner, why would they shoot at you for no reason?

Who else could we do this for? How about a Borg-style monster group that will not even acknowledge you exist if you don't bother them? Would the Devouring Earth work? I mean, they have big plans for the city, but would they stop to chase every passer-by? How about Malta? For a clandestine secret organisation, they sure do spend a lot of time loitering around parks taking pot-shots at passing heroes. Why are there Malta in the overworld at all, in fact? Wouldn't they be more mysterious if you never even knew they existed unless you actually uncovered their plots? Remember, guys - the world at large still doesn't know the Malta exist. They're not "obvious" bad guys.

    What else?
Malta and Knives should only be present in the shadows, and only in zones like RWZ and suchnot. They shouldn't be as blatantly obvious as they are, IMO.
Devouring Earth, though, would attack everything in sight. They hate all human life equally (And we all get treated as human, despite some of us playing non-fleshlings. Still, if you are on this planet at all, I think they see you as 'infection'.)

I would really like the spawning of mobs in general to get anoverhaul. Make it a bit more subtle. Put them in alleyways, abandoned parking lots, the actual 'hazard' areas of a zone (even putting them lurking in the parks in Atlas and Galaxy works better) rather than just being on EVERY street corner, bold as brass.
I mean, yeah, some of them ARE bold. But they arent quite that stupid. Well, ok, Vahzilok zombies are, but they come with minders

    YES! Internet win, right here!

  6. Really, the new Villain content is where it's at. You have a choice.

You can be 'misunderstood' in it, and make the somewhat kinder choices. Or you can leave a blazing trail in your wake, laughing as you step out of the rubble.

THAT is key; it should be up to the players. We shouldn't be shoehorned into being Arachnos lackeys.

Technically only a fragment of a hero's mind at the moment, I have Rei. She gets to come out properly after Going Rogue, but I've been formulating her personality and she has made one appearance in fiction. She's a horrible piece of work. She's a psychopath, sadist, murderer, sexual deviant, and not really a very nice person, and she doesn't really have breaks to put on to stop her doing things.

However... to be honest, babies and kittens are pretty boring to maim and kill, she much prefers adults, and she isn't going to talk about it to people. She would much rather demonstrate, over the course of several hours, with a lot of sharp objects.

She is, however, about the most nasty villain I've yet concocted and she's probably too nasty to actually roleplay much.
Depending on who and what, I can think of a few people I have who would RP with her. Wether they were hunting her down or helping her out, though... Theres both
  9. GAH! DAMN DAMN DAMN!
They've gone and got rid of the portable generator destructible objective; AGAIN!
Thats the ONE and only damn piece that makes any DAMN sense to have destroyed in a power station thats using the Cap Au Diable powerstation outdoor map! And they've got rid of it! Its hard enough to get my arc viewed at all, under all the utter **** thats in AE, and to have it keep breaking...

Y'know what, t'hell with it. Im just taking that objective out. Its more ****ing pain than its worth.
    NOT amused with unannounced changes!
  10. Uh oh....Im going to have to have to check Heart of Steel, in that case...
The ENTIRE enemy group was recloured Nem soldiers... *scurries off*

I propose that such faction powers should be done as unlockable costume pieces and alternate animations, so you could, for example, make a toon with standard powers but animated or power customized as faction powers.
    ^ This

    I have characters that are/were allied to;

    -5th Column
    -Nemesis Army
-Vanguard (Missing back and leg details)
    -PPD SWAT

NPC options being 'locked out' is so much farm animal excrement ever since the Romans, Vanguard and the VEATs. I know a good number of players who would jump for joy with more NPC parts unlockable.
  12. I can't add much more than has already been said. This is a city of Villains. This is OUR story.

And, seriously, please, please, PLEASE more arcs where Arachnos keept itself to itself. One of the original things said about CoV was 'It's like Dr Doom opening up Latveria to all villainous comers and saying '"Stay out of my way and my schemes and you are welcome here."'

That should be what happens. RIPs should attack you on sight, because they are basically bent cops and try to act all high and mighty. The Arachnos soldiers, though, should leave you alone, unless you attack them or their mates. For example, if you attack a mob of Goldbrickers that are being held at gun-point by Wolf Spiders, why should they care. There was an 'accident' and their targets wound up dead or in hospital. No skin off their noses. Of course, if the villain attacks the whole mob with a hail of gunfire/icicles/cracking the ground beneath their feet, then they have a problem. Thats attacking a soldier of Arachnos, dangnabit! Thats a crime!

CoV as it is written now is not even true to its own canon. For example, if you murder a random civilian, Arachnos is going to hunt you down. Recluse isn't meant to rule with an iron fist, yes. But not quite like it is in game. He wants civilians to see him as the best choice because, in his mind at least, his way is better. Thats what makes him a Super Villain; he doesn't do what he wants 'Because I's evil', he does it because he believes it is right.

Out of my own Villains, there are some who follow Arachnos, and some who will and have torn the Spiders a new one. Others dont really care.

    - Krimzon Commander, an Arachnos commander who used to be part of the Council. He serves Arachnos because he buys into the Darwinism that Recluse promotes, and actually has a lot of faith in humans in general. That doesn't mean he won't smack seven hells out of anyone who gets in his way, and has one of Mako's teeth to prove it (He thinks Mako is a slimy abomination who sould be taken out an shot )

-Techbot Alpha. Alpha and the group he runs with, the Corporation, have given the spiders a huge finger quite a few times. Alpha has laid waste to every Arachnos unit sent to 'deal with him', and the same for any that go after his friends. He's not particularly evil himself, but he has absolutely no respect for Arachnos. If they pay him well enough in technological parts and show the proper respect, he might do the odd job for them. But the hell he would kowtow to them. (His shielding was 'given as a reward' by Black Scorpion in the games version of events. BS; Alpha and his robots gunned him down and put the fear of...well, Alpha into him. And stole some of his shielding tech to add insult to injury.)

-Ceasar the Troll. Ceasar couldn't care less who 'runs the Isles', so long as they don't mess around with his smuggling and arms rackets. Ceasar just wants to live the good life, and maybe break the necks of both factions of Family in Port Oakes (They tried to off him, and failed. Big mistake.) The Breccia, the Troll Mafia he runs (made up of smarter than average troll goons and a few Family ex-pats) are only really interested in being respected and making a profit. If Arachnos leave him alone, s'all good. If they try messing with his shipping lines, well...just means he gets to wear his street clothes out rather than the suit.

Yeah, it would have been 'fixed', in that they would have simply turned off purples over the weekend until they could get a reliable patch onto test and then live.
  14. They still do take much more damage than other people seem to take from Quantum rifles. I've been hit by them on a Warshade and a Blaster, amongst others, and I know which one took the most damage...

  17. I think the AT/Origin idea is a bit off...

But revamping the old content, especially the lowbie stuff? Hell yes. I know GR will include the Praetorian tutorial...but what about people who don't buy GR? Or people that want to roll a Hero/Villain right off the bat and not do the Praet version for all characters?

Revamp = Good thing, IMO. So, /Signed

The reason people whine and complain when there's a new update is that they love the game, and are worried about its future. So obviously, the only reason there are can be so few complaints is that people have stopped caring about our beloved game!

We need to do something about this, at the very least to assuage my fears that the game is losing support. So please, everyone, if you love this game, let the world know it by complaining about everything you can and foretelling the DOOM of the game.

If this new trend of contentment and happiness continues, I'll be forced to conclude that the game is closing down in the near future.

I don't know what the developers call it, but I tend to call it the Monster rig, because that's what it's used for in-game. It's used for things like the Hydra, the War Wolves, the different Clockwork princes and I believe the Robotics henchmen. Oh, and the Kheldian Crab/Lobster transformation. Currently, Demon Summoning Demonlings appear to use this rig, though on a much smaller scale. The monster frame is still bipedal, it's just more hunched-over and has shorter legs, a bigger torso and longer arms, so Demonlings are still bipedal.

From what I've seen, the Demon Prince uses either the regular standing animation or a variant of the Monster one. I still haven't seen the thing for real, so I can't say.

The Ember Demon and the Hellfire Gargoyle... Confound me. I honestly don't know which rig they use, because their stances, movement animations and power animations are custom and unique to them and them alone. As such, I can't actually tell which rig they're using since I can't spot the tell-tale idle stance for it. I THINK they use the Monster rig because they have those long, thick arms and those shorter, stubbier legs, but with so many kinks and double knees and angled hooves and claws, I honestly can't tell. Most of their animations are indeed quadrupedal, however, as they do move on all fours and tend to throw their powers with one hand and hunched over. They DO stand up from time to time, usually to have a psychiatric breakdown, but most of their time they spend on all fours.

That said, I'm not sure if we can count them as quadrupeds because they are still built such that most of their body weight is on the hind legs and they still have a biped torso. They're just hunched over and walk on their, uh... Hideous, mis-shapen claws. To be honest, though, I don't know what the precise definition of quadruped is, so I can't give a definite answer.
Ahh, alright. That I can understand.
  22. They have to compensate people for taking something down so they didn't get inundated with a sh*t storm of "Waah my stack got deleted /ragequit!" and so they could fix it faster?

Wow...I shouldn't be surprised, but still...
  23. DS/ is capable of getting away with less buffs, one of few. The attacks cut into your blue bar a heck of a lot pre-stamina and SOs, but the -res is very tasty. Theres just so much to try and cram in.

Oh, and says you that MMs are buff/support characters! Get in line, fleshling, the robotic horde is at work here!

    Crab advice?

    Here's the build I use atm, which works well against anything, really. It also has a good base to IO off of. And yes, I did take both passive armours, and I'll tell you why;

Slot the -KB IOs. The single most hear-tearingly annoying thing to run into on a Crab Spider is KB. Why they left it out of fortification is anyones guess, but there you go. It also gives you something to slap a +Def IO into.

while you can take Heavy Burst for even moar AoE, you dont really need it. Once you start rocking the grenades and suppresion, stuff dies so fast as it is. That and Longfang is a very punishing attack.
