Quote:Yes to all of this. However, don't most cone attacks have a limited number of targets that can/will be affected? Like... 5? I get that the size of the 'splash' at the end of a range-enhanced cone is larger, but you're still limited by how many can be damaged/KB'ed/held... And won't any enemy that you Hit, but don't Affect with that cone also be aggroed to come and stomp you?
Be Well!

Range enhancements in ST attacks will increase the range of the attack by the enhancement percent.
Range enhancements in Targetted AoE attacks will increase the range you can be from the initial target, but will not increase the range of the actual AoE effect.
Range enhancements in cones increase the distance the cone will travel. However, this has the side effect of creating a large area of effect. The cone angle will not increase (a 45 degree cone will stay a 45 degree cone). However, because the cone is travelling a longer distance from you, it will increase the width at the far end of the cone (since the angle stays the same). -
My guess is February 21st. Why? Because I head out of town for a week starting that next weekend.

Quote:Should be a nice, decent set for either Ranged or Melee play, so I think will pair well with a lot of sets. /Ice is probably a good comparison point for it, actually, like Snow said.I'd say it's average or above average. The to hit debuffs add a nice bonus to survivability. So not as good as Fire (obviously) but better than Electric. I'd rate it around Ice.
Once the changes were announced (Moonbeam to level 35, switch out Death Shroud for the new PBAoE attack) I shelved my Ice/Thorns to be remade into an Ice/Dark Dom. And I can't wait. -
Wait...I'm sorry...what? Weren't you just mocking me for maybe not being able to come? And now you're out? Oh son, I am disappoint.

Does anyone need a ride from the Arlington/Alexandria border area?

Quote:Just ignore the numbers, then. See what powers work for you and your teams, and don't worry about perfect optimization. The Devs (after years of us asking) have given us a lot more information about the various powers than we've ever had before, and it can be overwhelming. But that doesn't mean that we need to have all of it up at the same time.My favorite thing is coopertiative play, teams, TF, dfbs, door missions etc.. I solo a little bit but not that much. Everytime I get a new power or ability I test it and learn it with some quick streetsweeping. I just feel like there is so much to each character that I have to pay more attention to it all than actually playing.
For me, I used Mid's Hero Builder to build my characters so that once I enter the game, I can focus on just playing them. I do all of the number-crunching and planning and information-seeking outside of the game. That way I can know in general what powers I want to take on a given character, but don't have to worry so much about the numbers when I'm playing. -
We'd need to know how you currently have it set up before we can offer you ways to stramline it.
For me, I usually put my powers into four trays. The first three are in the lower right, with the first tray holding "active" powers (attacks, holds, active debuffs). The second tray holds my armors/toggle powers, as well as any long-recharge active powers. The third tray is my utility tray, filled with powers that I use on occasion, but not often (rest, reveal, pet summons, etc.). The fourth tray is in the upper left-hand corner (I move the target box lower than it normally is to fit it in the corner), and I fill that with my various Teleport Powers, and the various Vet buff powers (the fortune telling one and Secondary Mutation). -
Quote:Oh, yeah, like I mind a bit of friendly ribbing. My pool skills suck. At least I am aware, even if I will pretend that they don't when I'm challenging someone.that's not a big deal, i don't think most of the people there last time drank, just those of us that were forced to deal with Aett!
ok, i REALLY gotta stop picking on Aett, he's a great guy in real life..... guess we pick on Turg next!
really Vexen, fun group of folks, you will fit in just fine, think of this as a group of extended family that you actually like. besides, i may have chronologically gone beyond 12 years old, but i don't act it, therefore, you won't be the least mature person there if nothing else. -

And wasn't it more about the tripod than you? They were worried the tripod would scratch the felt. Or something like that.
Maybe I should cut back on the booze. This wasn't THAT long ago. Barkeep! One more round! Oh wait. -
Zwill, don't forget to send us some cool swag for the DC meet and greet!
-
We were just an attractive looking bunch, weren't we?
Thanks for finding all of those photos again, guys. Definitely brings back memories. -
Quote:Ha! I remember that! They really did freak out on him until he started walking around on the pool table on coasters.i is always here
and i will be coming if at all possible (which means most likely as Saturdays are usually completely free for me)
it would be great to see you guys again
Turg will need the time away from miniturg
Aett can see the sisters kid anytime..... i mean jeez Aett, how inconsiderate are you???
And didn't quasado make teh awesomest cheescakes or something?
and someone find miss catz (katz?)
last time was a blast, everyone was very friendly, so to all the other introverts out there who are on the fence (i do sometimes fall into that category), trust me when i tell you that it was a great group of 40-50 we had last time, everyone very friendly, i think everyone settled into the group dynamic in mere minutes. much fun was had by all..... except the staff, who got a little nervous when turg decided to start crawling on the pool tables, that was until he promised them he would use coasters... which i think just confused them, but he got away with it, and we ended up with a great photo album record of the event!
But yeah, it was a great time had by all, and we don't care if you're 6 or 80. Last time I think I was maybe 24 years old, and there were several people younger than me there. There's no age restrictions there except to drink alcohol, but we don't force you to do that.
Weekend trip to the sister's was pushed back a weekend! Looks like I'll be there!
(Traegus, I don't think I've played pool since then, so my skill have probably decreased even further...still, you're going down!) -
Well, some powers require you to be on/near the ground to use, though. But that shouldn't be a problem for a Broadsword/SR Scrapper.
-
Pick up a sleep, and slot the Heal Proc from the sleep set in it. AoE chance for heal.
It's still not great, but better than the Entropic Chaos one. -
Please see the "Consolidated Tanker Improvement Ideas" in the Tanker forums. The Devs will be looking for ideas there when the time comes. Your ideas are already on the list that we have going.

Quote:Congrats! I hope that the Turg clan is doing well with the new addition!Hey, quick verification: If I were able to come, it'd be solo. The baby's still too young to travel, and that means Lady Turg will have to mind MiniTurg were I to come.
So, no +1 for me, and I'm a maybe (pending visits from family over the next few weeks for aforementioned MiniTurg).
Speaking of which, shouldn't you be sleeping while you can? -
Okay, I am now officially a "maybe."
My sister just had a baby, and we may be going up to visit that weekend. I'll let you all know ahead of time. -
Quote:This made me laugh so hard. I've loved RDJ as Tony Stark, and love his ability to deliver lines like this.Heh, I like that bit at the end.
Loki: I have an army.
Stark: We have a Hulk.
I just really hope that this movie is done very tightly, and doesn't try to explain all of the backstories too much, since the previous movies have done that for the majority of characters. And I hope they show the heroes actually working together, unlike the X-Men movies where almost every fight was one-on-one (at least the good fights). -
Quote:There should be a level slider/dropdown somewhere in the upper left (I think left side, at least). Make sure you have the right level ranges selected.I'm trying to access lower-level missions I did not complete with my L50 TW tanker. When using the [Link Removed due to possible malware. ~Mod13] crystals that surround the Pillar of Ice and Flame, I can access missions of L45-50, but nothing lower (at least as far as I can tell). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I gotta say that Mob difficulty is what keeps me from going back there. I LOVE the story-lines there. They're great. But a lot of the enemy groups there are highly annoying for low-level characters, including (IMO):
1) The Clockwork: if you're melee, these guys don't bunch up well, so you can't utilize any low-level AoEs you get, and need to chase each individual mob down. Then there's the whole -regen thing on their attacks, which nullifies a whole secondary set at those levels, and it's not like our Regen is that great at level 2 anyways.
2) Zombies: they heal each other when they die. Really? A lot of low-level frustration comes from not having enough endurance on a lot of characters, so having to spend even MORE attacks per spawn doesn't exactly make me want to fight these guys.
3) Enemy groups doing mostly Energy damage well before I can even get Energy Resistance/Defense. Primal enemy groups were designed around how most powersets go (or possibly, the other way around), with few groups having more "exotic" damage types until the slightly higher levels (15-20ish). Praetorian enemy groups are loaded with enemies doing these types of damage from level 1 on.
If it's a starting area, make it starter-friendly. -

Let's try to keep this on track, folks. If you want to make a suggestion, feel free to make it, but arguing over suggestions can be done somewhere else, if that is okay with everyone.
